The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord has come to life through impressive, nostalgic '90s cosplay, which shows the Dinozord combo getting built. The Megazord is a combination of the massive Zord robots used by the titular heroes to fight major threats across the series. While there are many strong Megazords throughout Power Rangers history, the Dino Megazord is a classic for being the very first one introduced in the franchise. It is formed by a combination of the T-Rex, Mastodon, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, and Sabertooth Tiger Zords, all of which form the armored titan of a machine.
Now, Super Queen Studio has posted a video showing a time-lapse of the Megazord from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers being built around someone cosplaying as the massive robot. The video first shows the incorporation of the Triceratops and Sabertooth legs, followed by the combined T-Rex, Mastodon, and Pterodactyl that make up the rest of its body.

A superhero show is only as good as its villain, and just as the titular Power Rangers have evolved from season to season, so have the enemies they face. The monster of the week formula has yet to grow tired, as Power Rangers presents an eclectic array of beasts for the heroes to best. Usually, by the end of the episode, the monster grows larger into a kaiju-like creature, forcing the Power Rangers to jump into their arsenal of Zords and thwart those that threaten the planet. There have been some truly iconic and standout foes across the show's history, and the likes of Lord Zedd have certainly stood the test of time. But without one particular villain, Power Rangers might not have grown into the popular series that it is today. It's of course, Rita Repulsa who should be gaining so much of the credit for setting the tone of the show.

When thinking about Power Rangers villains, the most memorable ones come to mind. A common misconception is relating their icon status to them being the best villains in the franchise. Sure, Rita Repulsa (Machiko Soga and Carla Perez) – with her maniacal cackle and her gray hair tied up in knot-horns – is one of the greatest villains, but the best? No. Perhaps Lord Zedd (Ed Neil) with his skinless menacing look and fierceness could be the prime villain? Wrong. Or maybe even Paul Freeman’s purpley and gooey Ivan Ooze from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie could fill the spot? Wrong again. For purist fans, this might be blasphemy, but the number one Power Rangers villain came a bit later than all those previously mentioned.

Stan Lee has helped Marvel create a multimedia empire, an empire he once hoped would include the Power Rangers until his plans were canceled. Marvel has had a massive influence on media production over the last few years, with their movies, TV shows, and comic books depicting a number of characters and stories. However, the Power Rangers franchise is unique in its equal popularity, depiction of superheroes, and avoidance of falling under the Marvel or DC umbrella. While it’s good that the Power Rangers were allowed to become its own franchise, it’s interesting to consider an alternative universe where this did not happen.
The Power Rangers franchise was first broadcast in America in 1993 as an adaptation of the Japanese Super Sentai series Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. The show began as a mix of original footage shot with American actors intermixed with Japanese footage of the fight scenes and monsters.

Warning: Contains minor Spoilers for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once And AlwaysWhile Rita Repulsa is a tried-and-true Power Rangers franchise villain, her evil is explained by a truly tragic backstory. Although a rushed villain redemption arc can feel unearned and ham-fisted, Rita’s eventual purification and redemption came after several seasons of villainy and history with the Power Rangers and their mentor, Zordon. While suddenly flipping Rita’s allegiance from good to evil might have felt too sudden to work well, her life makes her road to the side of right all the more compelling, especially alongside Lord Zedd.
The original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Rita Repulsa was an evil, intergalactic sorceress who attacked the Earth multiple times and assisted Lord Zedd with his evil plans. Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.
Rita Repulsa returned in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, but with a twist. The first Power Rangers villain, Rita Repulsa, was the reason Zordon asked Alpha to find five teenagers with attitude. Rita Repulsa served as Power Rangers’ antagonist for most of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, even though Lord Zedd eventually took over things. A slightly different version of the original Power Rangers villain now appeared in Once & Always.
Power Rangers: Once & Always jumped right into the action as Billy, the original Blue Ranger, battled Robot Rita Repulsa and her Putty Patrollers. Barbara Goodson, who voiced Rita Repulsa based on Machiko Soga’s Witch Bandora, voiced Robot Rita in Once & Always. Compared to Rita Repulsa’s last appearances in Mighty Morphin, Zeo, and Power Rangers in Space, Robot Rita was much more menacing.

The Power Rangers franchise has been closely tied to dinosaurs since its first season in 1993, but why the color-coded superheroes are related to prehistoric beasts is another matter. The Power Rangers have been accompanied by their faithful Zords in every season of the franchise. Whether they take the forms of prehistoric beasts, wild animals, or futuristic ships, the Power Rangers have always relied on their Zords when their enemies became too much to fight with hand-to-hand combat. But while including giant robots in a show is always sure to be a crowd-pleaser, the reason why the Power Rangers’ Zords are so often dinosaurs goes deeper than aesthetic appearance.
In each season of the Power Rangers franchise, the show tells the story of a team of heroes, often teenagers, chosen to battle the forces of evil. Each team can transform into color-coded superheroes, each with specific martial prowess and individual weapons,...

Despite how the Power Rangers franchise draws much of its material from the Japanese series Super Sentai, the series’ best villain is not from its parent show. Power Rangers features a lot of enemies, some of which hail from its monster-of-the-week format, while others have more staying power. Oftentimes, Power Rangers pulls its weekly villains from the Super Sentai series, but then develops its ultimate antagonist for each season independently. This has allowed the series to tailor its cultural impact in America separate from its roots in Japan, helping make the Power Rangers franchise what it is today.
At its most basic level, each Power Rangers season tells the story of a group of people, often teenagers, chosen to battle the forces of evil by transforming into master combatants with signature weapons and robots. Each Ranger team faces its own weekly and season-arc villains, although the most popular antagonists also...

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’ trailer Bandora Protocol references the saga’s history and unites past Power Rangers seasons. The Power Rangers are back for a final rematch against Rita Repulsa in Once & Always, a Netflix special celebrating Power Rangers’ 30th anniversary. While Once & Always is focused on the Mighty Morphin era only, there seem to be multiple references to the Power Rangers universe – from the Super Sentai shows to the most recent Power Rangers seasons.
The Power Rangers: Once & Always’ trailer Easter eggs reveal that the Power Rangers reunion will embrace the saga’s vast lore. Whereas some Power Rangers anniversary episodes were not that concerned with world building, Once & Always is promising to be a treat for both longtime and casual Power Rangers audiences. The Bandora Protocol is an example of how the Power Rangers reunion celebrates the franchise.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers villain Rita Repulsa has returned in action figure form to continue her efforts to finally conquer the earth, and she's brought her brainy husband Lord Zedd along with her. As revealed in a new retro-style video ad from Hasbro, an all-new Rita Repulsa action figure has been introduced as part of a 2-pack action figure set for the company's Power Rangers Lightning Collection line. Though Lord Zedd has previously been released as a solo figure, the 2-pack marks Rita's introduction into the toy line, and the detail given to the figure will instantly trigger nostalgic memories for longtime franchise fans.
The Rita Repulsa/Lord Zedd 2-pack releases this year to commemorate the 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary between the two Power Rangers villains. If you need a refresher, Zedd and Rita got hitched in the three-part Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers episode "The Wedding," which originally aired in...

Heh. This could be fun. THR's Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Elizabeth Banks will play the villain, Rita Repulsa, in the upcoming Power Rangers movie. She was originally portrayed by Japanese actress Soga Machiko in the Japanese series that found its way onto our shores back in the 90s. This is one of those times where you think, "Well. That just makes perfect sense. Of course Elizabeth Banks can play the villain in a children's superhero movie!". Watching Banks do her thing as Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games franchise (so I am told wink wink) I can totally see her ham it up as the alien witch bent on taking over the Earth. In no way does my crush on Elizabeth Banks have anything to do...
