Kim Jee-woon's 2008 action-Western film "The Good, the Bad, the Weird" lives up to all three adjectives in its title. That title was, of course, inspired by Sergio Leone's celebrated 1966 Western "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly," a film that starred -- in their respective moral roles -- Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach. As any cineaste can tell you, Leone's classic, set in 1862, is about its three main characters seeking a hidden cache of Confederate gold that's hidden in a cemetery. The film runs 161 minutes (or 171 if you're watching the director's cut), and it features many violent, picaresque adventures on the way to its famed three-way shootout.

In Kim's film, the three title roles are played by -- also respectively -- Jung Woo-sun, Lee Byung-hun, and Song Kang-ho, although it takes place in the wilds of Manchuria in 1939 just before the widespread outbreak of World War II.

Korean entertainment giant Cj Enm, the studio famously behind Bong Joon Ho’s multi-Oscar-winning Parasite, has signed a three-year pact with the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to boost Asian cinema’s presence in Hollywood.

The agreement’s first initiative, spearheaded under Cj Enm’s support, will be the world’s first museum exhibition dedicated to Bong’s work. Opening March 23 and titled “Director’s Inspiration: Bong Joon Ho,” the exhibition will comprise more than 100 original items, including storyboards, research materials, film posters, concept art, creature designs, props and on-set photographs. The project will also include an exhibition space featuring a creative workspace filled with various objects that inspired Bong’s films as well as an accompanying retrospective screening series of his movies themselves.

He puts a tremendous amount of time and energy into making the film in his head before stepping on set, mapping out the precise compositions, movement, and edits — which, according to him, remain 99-percent intact in the final version of his films. Exclusive: Netflix has added Seoyeon Jang (Butterfly), William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover and musician Bm — in his acting debut — to the Season 2 cast of Beef, its award-winning anthology series from Lee Sung Jin and A24. American-born, Korea-based Bm is known as leader of the K-Pop co-ed group Kard and his solo rap career.

The quartet rounds out the cast, joining previously announced stars Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-Ho.

The new installment centers on a young couple who witness an alarming fight between their boss (Isaac) and his wife (Mulligan), triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner (Youn).

Character details are being kept under wraps. Bm is believed to be playing a former tennis pro running the tennis shop at the country club.

Mulligan, who is married to Mumford & Sons founder Marcus Mumford, plays a musician in the Focus feature. The official synopsis reads: “‘The Ballad of Wallis Island’ follows Charles (Tim Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of getting his favorite musicians, McGwyer Mortimer (Tom Basden and Mulligan) back together. His fantasy turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.”

Sian Clifford and Akemnji Ndifornyen round out the cast. “Here We Go” sitcom star Basden and Key co-wrote the feature and also star in the Focus Features release. James Griffiths directs the comedy, which is set on the fictional titular Welsh island.

The first season of Netflix anthology series Beef was a masterful study in microaggression and escalation, with Steven Yeun and Ali Wong going to increasingly extreme lengths to one up each other after a road rage incident. But while the upcoming second season of creator Lee Sung Jin's show promises more conflict and cause-and-effect shenanigans, on one thing we all can agree: the cast for Season 2 is seriously stacked. Back in October we learned that Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Youn Yuh-jung would lead the ensemble this time out — and now we're getting word that Parasite star Song Kang-ho is aboard for some Beef too.

The film opened on December 4 and ranked second after its first weekend but has climbed to the top on its second outing, taking $4.38m from just over 657,000 admissions and a 41.9% market share from Friday to Sunday (December 13-15). According to Variety, Song Kang-ho, star of the Academy Award-winning film Parasite, has lined up his next project, which will be the series adaptation of a political thriller titled Inside Men. Hive Media Corp, who will be producing the series, had announced the development of the project Thursday morning and the studio has revealed it is currently in early pre-production. The filming is expected to commence sometime next year. However, it is not yet revealed where the show is intending to broadcast or stream.

Song Kang-ho, star of Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” will headline a series adaptation of hit film “Inside Men.”

The project was revealed on Thursday by producer Hive Media Corp. which said that the show is in the early stages of pre-production. Cameras are expected to roll in 2025.

The 2015 film was a political thriller that was adapted from an incomplete webtoon, penned by Yoon Tae-ho called “The Insiders” and which was published 2010-2012 in the Hankyoreh newspaper.

The webtoon featured a political bruiser, played by Lee Byung-hun in the film, who seeks revenge after being ruined by politicians and the media. Directed and written by Woo Min-ho, the film added other elements including a prosecutor (portrayed by Cho Sueng-woo), a presidential candidate Portrayed by Lee Gyeong-young) and a newspaper editor (portrayed by Baek Yoon-sik).
