Blood Will Have Blood: Danza Macabra Volume Two: The Italian Gothic Collection
Roger Corman
Severin follows up their 2023 collection of Italian gothic titles with an essential second volume that brings together three films and a miniseries. Each work takes a very different approach to the gothic as both a visual aesthetic and a set of thematic preoccupations. The results range from virtually archetypal to resolutely revisionist. For this well-appointed set, Severin provides a veritable bounty of bonus materials: new restorations, alternate cuts, commentary tracks, cast and crew interviews, visual essays, even a soundtrack CD.

Magnolia distributing 'In Bloom'
TORONTO -- One of the two most anticipated films going into the Toronto fest, 2929 Productions' In Bloom starring Uma Thurman, Evan Rachel Wood and Eva Amurri, will be self-distributed by Wagner/Cuban Companies' Magnolia Pictures in the U.S. TVA Films paid under $1 million for Canadian rights.

Vadim Perelman's $12 million-range drama about the survivor of a high school shooting premiered Saturday night to mixed reaction and walkouts that had little or nothing to do with the film. Buyers were heading to the other most anticipated film of the fest,Alan Ball's Nothing is Private, which drew extreme reactions and ultimately $1.25 million from Warner Independent Pictures and Red Envelope Entertainment on Tuesday. Neither film raised heated bidding wars, mirroring generally slow Toronto sales.

In Perelman's follow-up to the Oscar-nominated House of Sand and Fog, a Columbine-style shooting survivor (Thurman) flashes back to the event on its 15 th anniversary and the experiences of her younger self (Wood) and her friend (Amurri).
