Netflix’s ‘Devil May Cry’ Release Date, Full Cast, and Everything We Know So Far
Image
Devil May Cry deserves a great anime and by all means, it did get one in 2007. Netflix, however, is doing its take on the legendary video game series. The producer of Netflix’s Castlevania, Adi Shankar, is the creator of Netflix’s Devil May Cry so this isn’t his first rodeo and there’s some experience there.

The graphics will be significantly better than the 2007 Madhouse anime adaptation and it also brags a whole new voice cast. Shankar has plans to extend the animated series into a multi-season arc, similar to Castlevania. This is the only possible way to introduce more characters.

The trailer for Devil May Cry promises a faithful portrayal of Dante, the series’ protagonist. He will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who originally voiced Nero in the video games. There’s no hint of Nero being involved in the first season.

“You can’t have one without the other”: Netflix’s ‘Devil May Cry’ Has the Perfect Opportunity to Pay Homage to the Original Games
Image
Netflix is all set to revive the Devil May Cry franchise with a remake slated to air in April 2025. The upcoming show has already been making headlines due to the overwhelming anticipation in the fanbase.

This is to be expected since such a hugely popular franchise is bound to draw in both returning and new fans to the show. Although a particular news about the upcoming show gained mixed reviews from the fandom recently after the show’s first glimpse made it to the social media.

However, most fans seem to be just as excited about it even now. Especially since there might still be a chance for the new Devil May Cry series to pay homage to the original games.

“Megumi will be ruining everything”: Hiring ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Voice Actor May Not Be the Best Idea for ‘Devil May Cry’
Image
The Devil May Cry franchise is feeding its fans well. Not only does it have multiple games, light novels, manga, and an anime series, but now it has a new animated series by Netflix and Adi Shankar. It’s similar to Netflix’s Castlevania series, which Shankar served as a producer for.

Fans will witness the return of many favorite characters in Netflix’s animated adaptation. The most recent trailer for Devil May Cry ended with Vergil’s entrance, Dante’s older twin brother and one of the main antagonists of the series.

The fresh new voice cast, however, also meant Dan Southworth wouldn’t be his voice actor. Robbie Daymond, who you might recognize as Jujutsu Kaisen’s Megumi Fushiguro, Persona 5’s Akechi Goro, or Hubert von Vestra in the Fire Emblem series, will be voicing the fan-favorite character. However, many feel a bit mixed about the new voice.

24 Years Later, I'm Convinced Power Rangers Fans Give This Season Too Much Credit
Image
Quick LinksI Absolutely Loved Power Rangers Time Force When I Was Growing UpPower Rangers Time Force is Only Anything Special When Telling its Main StoryTime Force Falls Short in Key Ways Compared to Superior Seasons of Power Rangers

There are certain Power Rangersseasons that, since they first aired, have been hailed as the pinnacle of the franchise. Seasons like Power Rangers in Space, Power Rangers Spd, and Power Rangers Rpm are near-universally loved, even with the fandom being able to acknowledge their respective flaws. But, when it comes to Power Rangers Time Force, I think most fans fail to realize just how many issues it has.

Power Rangers Time Force is commonly held up as a masterpiece, but it's far from the best season in the franchise. I love the season, and it features some of the most engaging characters and storylines in the series, along with one of the most talented casts of actors.

Power Rangers: 10 Weirdest Sixth Rangers, Ranked
Image
While the Power Rangers are a team, they aren't equals. Even a season's Red Ranger typically can't hold a candle in power to its Sixth Ranger. Coming in Green, White, Gold, Silver, and more, Sixth Rangers are among the most popular characters in the series, but sometimes, beyond just being cool, they're also weird.

The sixth member of any Power Rangers team is typically the strongest, but some are stranger heroes than others. The weirdest Sixth Rangers don't just have oddball personalities but something inherent to their characters that separates them from the rest of the team. More often than not, these elements only add to the charm and likability of these Rangers.

Who would have thought we would be seeing a sequel to 47 Ronin among all of the Halloween goodies? But sure enough, Universal 1440 Entertainment, the company’s direct-to-video department, has come up with Blade of the 47 Ronin, a modern-day sequel to the Keanu Reeves samurai epic. And they said there’s no such thing as The Great Pumpkin.

Somewhere in Budapest Yurei kills Arai thought to be the last in the bloodline of those who wielded the Blade of the 47 Ronin. But as he kills him he senses the existence of another heir.

Keanu Reeves, Rinko Kikuchi, Neil Fingleton, and Rick Genest in 47 Ronin (2013)
Film Review: Blade Of The 47 Ronin (2022) by Ron Yuan
Keanu Reeves, Rinko Kikuchi, Neil Fingleton, and Rick Genest in 47 Ronin (2013)
The story of the 47 Ronin is one of the most famous tales of the Samurai era. A story that has been passed down over the years and made into numerous films. It's a classic saga of betrayal, loyalty and sacrifice that makes it perfect for cinematic treatment. The Hollywood version in 2013 proved controversial in it's addition of fantasy elements and the casting of Keanu Reeves in the lead role. In addition to this controversy it was also critically panned. That alone makes the idea of a sequel daunting viewing. Those familiar with the story will also know that it's not exactly one that allows for a follow up. I'm sure the producers will have thought of that and have a completely compelling new narrative for this potential issue…..right??

The Doorman Trailer Teams Ruby Rose & Jean Reno in a Punishing Action Thriller
Image
Lionsgate has revealed a trailer for The Doorman. This is a new action/thriller led by Ruby Rose, Jean Reno. Ryuhei Kitamura directs what is described by the studio as a "punishing action-thriller." Based on what we can see from the trailer, that appears to be an accurate description.

The trailer opens up with an explosion-filled action scene that sees bullets, and Ruby Rose, fly. This helps set up her character, an ex-soldier, who is at the center of the tale. After leaving the armed forces, she then finds herself a quiet yet steady job working at an apartment building. All seems well. However, a gang of armed thugs shows up with criminal intent, which throws a wrench in the gears. Rose's character ends up on the wrong side of this group, ultimately duking it out with them. Punches (and bullets) fly, the body count rises and Rose even gets a one-liner in.

‘Mortal Kombat: Legacy II’ Trailer Showcases Improved Supernatural Action & Character Drama
Director Kevin Tancharoen looks to build upon the moderately impressive success of his Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series with the second installment, Mortal Kombat: Legacy II, which we now know will debut online on September 26, 2013.

A re-imagining of the popular Mortal Kombat video game-turned-multi-media franchise, Legacy II will expand the scope (and apparently the budget) of the first installment, bringing in more iconic characters from the Mortal Kombat universe, while also creating a sturdier bridge between the realistic and fantastical halves of the Mk mythos. You can see what we mean (and a whole lot of action and character appearances) in the latest trailer above.

The first Legacy II trailer gave us a taste of the second season storyline – in which new characters like Liu Kang (Brian Tee), Kenshi (Dan Southworth), Kung Lao (Mark Dacascos) and Ermac (Kim Do Nguyen) join forces ...

More Horror Comic Con 2012 Coverage Recap
By Isabelle Lynn, MoreHorror.com

Thursday, yours truly drove down from La to San Diego for Nerd Christmas. Aka San Diego Comic Con! As my blood yearns for the approval of my Cenobite overlords, I was covering the many horror and creepy and thriller events for More Horror.

After dealing with traffic on the infamous I-5 freeway, I finally made it down to the convention center. Thursday night was the Heavy Metal party and the Resident Evil party in the gaslamp district, but the big event for me was Capcom/FEARnet/ShockTillYouDrop’s Con Of The Dead after party at Voyeur nightclub.

I went to cover the party and ended up meeting up with folks from Machinima and FEARnet, and then met up with good friend Ryan Turek of Shock Till You Drop, where we compared notes and discussed the game plan for dodging the long lines this year. Luckily...

Act of Valor - Blu-ray Review
Although the film stumbles during the dialogue scenes and the plot seems very familiar, Act of Valor entertains thanks to its incredible action sequences and the level of authenticity that is captured on the screen. Marketed around the fact the film features actual active duty Navy SEALs, Act of Valor was directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh from a screenplay by Kurt Johnstad. It stars Jason Cottle, Nestor Serrano, Ailsa Marshall, Gonzalo Menendez, Emilio Rivera, Dimiter D. Marinov, Thomas Rosales Jr., Marc Margulies, Dan Southworth, Drea Castro, Marissa Labog, Alex Veadov and Roselyn Sanchez. The film.s plot is fairly straight forward and follows a Seal team as they hunt down a terrorist before he has a chance...
