Australia’s ‘Muster Dogs’ Heading To UK

Australia’s Muster Dogs are heading to the UK. The Repair Shop producer Ricochet has optioned the hit format, which has aired on Australia’s ABC for three seasons. Muster Dogs follows six animal farmers from across the country who are each given a puppy from the same litter and then face the task of training them up to be herding dogs in just one year. ABC says it has been a surprise hit. Season 1 had 2 million consolidated viewers per episode, making it the network’s highest rating factual programme on domestic catch-up of all time. The U.S. format has also been optioned by Hellcat Productions, and ABC Commercial is in format discussions with partners in Spain, France and the Nordics, it said. The last Australian dog format to make its way to the UK was Rebel Wilson-hosted Pooch Perfect but...

The Harsh Truth About M. Night Shyamalan’s Superhero Trilogy Explains Why Glass Is One Of His Worst-Received Films
Image
M. Night Shyamalan has an eclectic body of work that frequently divides audiences and critics alike, yet Glass secures its spot as one of the director's worst-received films — and it's for good reason. More often than not, Shyamalan is recognized for silly but entertaining twists that stick with audiences. Unbreakable launched Shyamalan's superhero trilogy, though this unique franchise only really came to be when the final moments of Split revealed it was a stealth sequel to the filmmakers' 2000 hit. The first two chapters in his story were relatively popular, but Glass unfortunately shattered the acclaim of Shyamalan's unusual superhero films.

The ending to Glass may have subverted expectations and included a slew of controversial deaths, but the movie itself had a lot of problems. The final installment brought together the characters of Unbreakable, David Dunn (Bruce Willis) and Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson) as well as Split's Kevin Wendell Crumb...

Antoine Fuqua’s Michael Jackson biopic to spill blood on the dancefloor in Fall 2025 after a release date shift
Image
Michael Jackson fans need to wait longer for Antoine Fuqua’s highly-anticipated biopic about the King of Pop to rock their world after Lionsgate announced delays for two of its films. The studio’s Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, is moonwalking to a 2025 Easter window (April 18-20 to October 3) while looking to dominate the box office during the bunny-themed holiday. In addition to telling Michael to “Beat It” to later next year, Lionsgate dated Aziz Ansari’s upcoming comedy, Good Fortune, for October 17, 2025. According to Deadline, Good Fortune stars Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen. It focuses on “a well meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Reeves) who meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Ansari) and a wealthy capitalist (Rogen).”

“Michael will bring audiences a riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant yet complicated man who became the King of Pop,” reads the official description. “The film presents...

“It was ready, in a story sense, 15 years ago”: Anya Taylor-Joy’s Mad Max Prequel Furiosa Almost Became an Anime Directed by a Studio Ghibli Maestro
Image
As far as iconic franchises go, George Miller’s Mad Max films are right up there among Hollywood’s favorite film series. Similar to his namesake George Lucas and his brainchild Star Wars, Miller created the dystopian action series back in 1979 with Mel Gibson, which was followed by three successful sequels in the 80s.

The franchise returned with a bang in 2015 with Mad Max: Fury Road starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Now, the Lorenzo’s Oil director has roped in one of Hollywood’s big draws Anya Taylor-Joy along with Chris Hemsworth for the upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Interestingly, this film has been in the making for many years , and was almost developed into an anime feature.

Image
Sky and AMC have unveiled several first look images for the upcoming historical psychodrama series, “Mary & George,” starring Oscar and BAFTA-winning actor Julianne Moore (“Still Alice”), alongside Nicholas Galitzine (“Cinderella”) and Tony Curran (“Mayflies”).

“Mary & George” is inspired by the true story of Mary Villiers, who moulded her beautiful and charismatic son, George, to seduce King James VI of Scotland and I of England and become his all-powerful lover. Through scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become the richest, most titled and influential players the English court had ever seen, and the King’s most trusted advisors. All this at a time when England’s place on the world stage was under threat from a Spanish invasion and rioters were taking to the streets to denounce the King.

Best M. Night Shyamalan Movies, Ranked
Image
M. Night Shyamalan has been directing feature films for just over three decades, and he's proven himself to be one of the most exciting and creative working modern filmmakers. Shyamalan is a polarizing storyteller who's largely been reduced to a director who loves to throw a big twist at the audience in the final act.

Admittedly, Shyamalan does love a good surprise to punctuate his ideas, but the filmmaker has worked hard to prove that he's more than just someone who loves to pull the rug out from under his audience. M. Night Shyamalan currently has several projects in development, which makes it the perfect time to revisit the strongest movies from his career.

Vpr’s Tom Sandoval & Ariana Madix Split Over Alleged Raquel Affair
Image
Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval of Vanderpump Rules have reportedly split after he cheated on her with Raquel Leviss. The Bravo stars have been together for almost a decade. Raquel, who was formerly engaged to James Kennedy, was recently linked to Sandoval's best friend and business partner Tom Schwartz. Much of the drama this season has been focused on her and Schwartz hooking up after his divorce from Katie Maloney.

The news was first reported on by TMZ. An anonymous insider claimed that Ariana, who publicly supported Sandoval's band on Wednesday, found out about his alleged infidelity a few days ago. While the affair with Raquel was apparently the final straw, TMZ's source claimed that Tom and Ariana's long-running relationship has been hanging on by a thread for some time now. The source also mentioned that producers managed to capture the fallout on camera, and plan to incorporate that...

Knock at the Cabin Returns M. Night Shyamalan to His Post-Sixth Sense Glory
Image
This article contains mild Knock at the Cabin spoilers.

“Don’t you look away.”

That’s the one command a soon-to-be-executed man makes before he sacrifices himself in an attempt to prevent the apocalypse in Knock at the Cabin, the latest from director M. Night Shyamalan. It’s grim stuff, but nasty, ludicrous premises such as these have become the norm for Shyamalan, especially over the past decade. Ever since the once vaunted director’s Hollywood career stalled with famous flops The Last Airbender and After Earth, Shyamalan has found his footing again with a series of nasties, including the found-footage cheapie The Visit and the wonderfully ridiculous Old.

Despite what Newsweek proclaimed in a 2002 cover story (timed with the release of Signs), Shyamalan never became the next Steven Spielberg, especially when the genuine article is still making excellent movies well into his 70s. Instead Shyamalan has become something else—and something far more interesting.

M. Night Shyamalan Opens Up About Processing Bruce Willis' Diagnosis
Image
Knock at the Cabin director M. Night Shyamalan reflects on Bruce Willis' aphasia diagnosis. The two have collaborated quite frequently on screen, starting with 1999's The Sixth Sense, which propelled Shyamalan to stardom. They followed that film up with 2000's Unbreakable, the first film in the Eastrail 177 trilogy, alongside Split and Glass. In 2022, Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects speech and comprehension, which caused him to retire from acting and from public life to spend time with his family.

Now, in an interview with THR, Shyamalan opens up about processing Willis' diagnosis. He also talks about how Willis never treated him poorly on set and helped him navigate the studio system early on. Check out what Shyamalan said below:

Yeah, he obviously means the world to me. I would do anything for him and his family, and it’s been super tough for everybody involved. I had...

Why The Sixth Sense Is Still M. Night Shyamalan's Best Twist
Image
M. Night Shyamalan's greatest twist remains the ending of The Sixth Sense. With the release of The Sixth Sense in 1999, Shyamalan became one of the hottest directors in the business for several years, and achieved widespread acclaim with his follow-ups Unbreakable and Signs. While the reception to Shyamalan's overall body of work has grown more mixed, he nonetheless has established quite a legacy as a filmmaker.

M. Night Shyamalan's story in The Sixth Sense sees Bruce Willis as child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe, who takes on the case of a troubled young boy named Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment). Eventually, Cole makes the chilling revelation to Crowe that "I see dead people." While this line and Cole's supernatural abilities were a heavy fixture of The Sixth Sense's marketing, the movie saved the biggest twist for last in revealing that Malcolm Crowe is himself a ghost.

Video From New Knock At The Cabin Trailer Shows The Apocalypse Is Real
Image
“If you fail to choose, the world will perish.”

The name of the Knock At The Cabin poster from Universal Pictures, featuring Dave Bautista, Abby Quinn, Rupert Grint and Nikki Amuka-Bird, is titled “4Horsemen” and in an earlier post, we asked the question: Could they be the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Death, Famine, War, and Conquest? Each figure on the poster are holding a different “weapon.” In the Book of Revelation, these Four Horsemen represent a vision of harbingers of the Last Judgment, setting a divine end-time upon the world.

The first horseman rides a white horse, carries a bow, and is given a crown as a figure of conquest, perhaps invoking pestilence, Christ, or the Antichrist. The second carries a sword and rides a red horse as the creator of (civil) war, conflict, and strife. The third, a food merchant, rides a black horse symbolizing famine and carries the scales.

‘Knock at the Cabin’ Will Be Shyamalan’s First “R” Rated Movie Since ‘The Happening’
Image
Up next from M. Night Shyamalan is the Paul Tremblay adaptation Knock at the Cabin, and we’ve learned this week that the film will be released with an “R” rating attached to it.

The reason this is notable is because M. Night Shyamalan’s movies tend to be rated “PG-13.” In fact, the only other Shyamalan movie that was rated “R” was The Happening back in 2008, with all other Shyamalan-directed movies being rated “PG-13.” That includes The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable, The Village, Lady in the Water, Split, The Visit, Glass, and last year’s Old.

Knock at the Cabin has been rated “R” for “Violence and language.”

Universal will release the thriller in theaters on February 3, 2023.

Dave Bautista (Army of the Dead), Rupert Grint (“Servant”) and Nikki Amuka-Bird (Old) star alongside Ben Aldridge (“Pennyworth”) and Jonathan Groff (“Mindhunter”).

National Television Awards 2022: Nominations in full as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield snubbed
Image
The National Television Awards 2022 will take place tonight (Thursday 13 October) after months of anticipation.

Nominees were announced in August, with Peaky Blinders, Heartstopper and Bridgerton all receiving multiple nods.

Voting for the NTAs closes on Thursday 13 October at noon, hours ahead of the ceremony’s broadcast on ITV at 8.00pm.

Exclusive: Dominic West, who portrays British monarch in-waiting Prince Charles in the upcoming fifth season of The Crown, has told us that season six, which shoots from August, “will be as tumultuous as it gets”, because it will explore the tragic death of Princess Diana.

Image

So he resorted to the same thing that a lot of folks did when the pandemic isolated them from the rest of the world: He began making stuff. Of course, Brian isn’t really a sourdough starter kind of guy, even if his vibe suggests “Doc Brown as a contestant on ‘The Great British Bake Off....
