Deadline reports that Jessica Alba is set to star in The Mark, a spy thriller from director Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom). Production is slated to kick off in Australia in July from a script by Ronnie Christensen (Passengers).

Alba will play Eden, “an enigmatic spy on a covert and dangerous mission. When Eden pulls single father Ben Dawson into her world of high-stakes espionage, his life is turned upside down. Mistaken for the world’s deadliest assassin, Ben becomes the perfect decoy for Eden. She uses the mix-up to expose a powerful network of corrupt politicians, placing Ben in the crosshairs of the CIA, Interpol, and ruthless crime syndicates. With enemies closing in from all sides, Eden must keep Ben alive long enough to complete her mission — while Ben must summon his inner action hero to stay alive and return to the person who matters most: his daughter.

10 Shows to Fill the Void Left by My Lady Jane

My Lady Jane has sadly been added to the ever-growing list of streaming shows canceled after just one season. Despite being praised as one of the best shows of the year so far, the series didn't attract enough viewers to earn another season. While the story did end on a positive note, fans were understandably disappointed by the news, especially since the show only adapted the first half of the book on which it was based. The fanbase is already rallying to save the series, but as they wait to see if another platform will grant their wish, they might want to check out some other shows in the same vein.

A mysterious murder in a monastery starring Arthur Hughes and Anthony Boyle (Masters of the Air)? Where do we sign up? The two actors headline Shardlake, which hits Hulu on May 1. Based on the popular Tudor murder mystery novels by C.J. Sansom, the four-part outing promises to have all the thrills fans of rousing and suspenseful historical dramas love, plus plenty of deceit and intrigue.

Set in 16th century England during the dissolution of the monasteries in the Tudor era, the limited series tracks lawyer Matthew Shardlake (Hughes), who is sent by Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean of Game of Thrones) on behalf of Henry VIII to investigate the death of a commissioner in a remote town of Scarnsea. He must bring along an unlikely partner, however Jack Barak, whos cocky, self-assured, and perhaps Cromwells spy.

Hulu has shared the trailer and key art for Shardlake, the new series based on the popular Tudor murder mystery novels by C.J. Sansom. The series premieres on Wednesday, May 1, on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in select territories.

Drenched in mystery, suspense, and deception, this four-part drama, based on the first novel in C.J. Sansom’s book series, is an eerie whodunnit adventure set in 16th-century England during the dissolution of the monasteries.

Shardlake’s sheltered life as a lawyer is turned upside down when Cromwell instructs him to investigate the murder of one of his commissioners at a monastery in the remote town of Scarnsea. The commissioner was gathering evidence to close the monastery, and it is now imperative for Cromwell’s own political survival that Shardlake both solves the murder and closes the monastery.

After a successful first run, The Twilight Zone play is set to return in 2019.

It’s a good time to be in The Twilight Zone.

Jordan Peele’s small screen revival is coming to CBS All Access with an all-star cast, and now after a successful first run, a stage adaptation of Rod Serling’s iconic anthology series will transfer to London’s prestigious West End in 2019.

The Twilight Zone premiered in 2017 at London’s Almeida Theatre. It’ll move over to the West End’s Ambassadors Theatre beginning on March 4, 2019. The stage production was adapted by Anne Washburn (Mr. Burns: A Post Electric Play), who took eight stories from Twilight Zone writers Rod Serling, Charles Beaumont, and Richard Matheson and weaved them into a two-act play. Richard Jones, who directed the first run, will return.
