Boston Dynamics' bipedal humanoid robot Atlas could already dance, do backflips, and complete parkour courses in style, but its latest skill is the ability to pick up and throw objects. Atlas was created in 2013, and was funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa). It was designed to undergo search and rescue tasks, and has been steadily picking up new skills over the years.
A new video posted online by Boston Dynamics showcases Atlas picking up a tool bag and then running up some scaffolding in style before tossing it to a human standing on an elevated platform in a mock construction site.
