Chris Stinson(I)
- Producer
- Production Manager
- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
Chris Stinson is a Producer and Line Producer who aims to only work with kind human beings. He is from New Hampshire and is a wicked die-hard Red Sox fan who would love to work on more films in New England like his last few, Sound Of Metal, Knives Out and Alexander Payne's The Holdovers, which were filmed in Massachusetts. Of those, Knives Out was nominated for an Academy Award in 2020 and Sound Of Metal was nominated for six Academy Awards in 2021 and went on to win two.
The last four features Chris worked on should be coming to a theater near you in 2023. Those include Somewhere In Queens, with Ray Romano, Untitled Trey Parker Project with the South Park team and the amazing Anne Garefino, Suncoast, made with love with Searchlight and this November Alexander Payne's The Holdovers. He has worked on over 35 feature films and many of his other films including Leave No Trace, Low Down, Me and You and Everyone We Know and Chronic, have gone on to win awards at film festivals like Sundance and Cannes and several have been nominated for Best Feature at the Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2005 he was chosen to participate in the Film Independent Producing Lab and in 2010 he won the Van McLeod film award, named after his NH based mentor. He studied film production at Lyndon State College and Columbia College Chicago but highly recommends watching Lars Von Trier's The Five Obstructions if you want the expedited version of how to make a film.
His production company Live Free Or Die Films has several feature films in development with his producing partner, Amy Greene, and upcoming projects include films with Michael Barnett, Alexander Payne and Azazel Jacobs.
His spirit animals are Mister Rogers and Billy Jack.
