Ahead of America's 250th anniversary, Marvel Comics will pay tribute to the country's founding this November in 1776, a five-issue limited series written by legendary Amazing Spider-Man and Thor writer J. Michael Straczynski and illustrated by superstar artists Ron Lim and Sean Damien Hill.

The series presents a one-of-a-kind team-up as a band of Marvel superheroes travels to the dawn of the American Revolution, where they join forces with the real-life historical figures like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams to stop history from being rewritten.

In what Marvel Comics is billing as "an inspirational saga that blends superhero storytelling with America's revolutionary past," these heroes of yesterday and today must ensure pivotal moments remain intact to safeguard both America's legacy and their existence. Doctor Who has had a lot of ups and downs lately. The most recent two seasons, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor, have gotten mixed reviews: some episodes have hit and others haven't. This story must begin with a prologue. Way back in 1989, TV guru J. Michael Straczynski had brought his idea for "Babylon 5" to Paramount, hoping the studio would produce it and turn it into a full-blown sci-fi show. He presented Paramount with a series bible, character bios, artwork, and even 22 brief story ideas that he intended to write for the show. When "Batman: The Animated Series" debuted in 1992, Batman's last leading role in animation had been on the final "Super Friends" season: 1985's "The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians." In 1993, sci-fi fans were buzzing over the premiere of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The spinoff took a different direction with the franchise, set on a space station and pushing more conflict than other Star Trek shows.

In the wake of the hugely controversial "One More Day," it was a brand new day for Spider-Man, and his life hasn't been the same since.

However, that wasn’t enough, so T’Challa takes Spidey to the Soul Tree, Bishiya Ruhi in Wakanda. While there, Spider-Man is confronted by Bast and his god, Anansi. With their help, Miles is cured of his vampirism, but it comes with a price: Anansi is now along for the ride in Miles’ head to learn stories from his perspective.

Comic writer J. Michael Straczynski is overseeing a new Marvel meta-series that pairs unlikely duos together. One of these comics paired up Doctor Doom with Rocket Raccoon. The next features a young Nick Fury fighting the enormous alien dragon known as Fin Fang Foom.

Marvel has shared an exclusive preview of "Nick Fury vs Fin Fang Foom" #1 with /Film. The issue synopsis reads:

"The Howling Commandos Take On Fin Fang Foom! Nick Fury knows how to handle problems, no matter the size — but he's never faced a foe This big before! Witness the next chapter in J. Fin Fang Foom is a Makluan, hailing from the planet Kakaranthara. Centuries and centuries ago, he and some of his people crash-landed in China, inspiring ancient legends of Chinese dragons.

We Live in Time (February 7) Credit – A24

We Live in Time is a romantic comedy-drama film directed by John Crowley from a screenplay by Nick Payne. The 2024 film follows the relationship of a young couple over the course of a decade as they go through the ups and downs of life together while learning and growing with each other.

Marvel's First Family make their highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25, and Marvel Comics plans to celebrate that landmark event all year round with exciting variant cover programs, new collections, and more.

While the team embarks on captivating new adventures in Ryan North's current Fantastic Four comic book run (they'll also play a pivotal role in the upcoming One World Under Doom event), we can also look forward to timeless tales set across Fantastic Four history. Those are set to play out in the pages of Fantastic Four Fanfare, a four-issue limited series launching in April.

Fantastic Four Fanfare invites some of the most influential Ff storytellers, including Jonathan Hickman, Mark Waid, Alan Davis, J. Michael Straczynski, Chip Zdarsky, Mike Allred, Mark Bagley, and more, to tell new stories that capture the spirit and heart of the superhero team that started it all.

There was a bit of a sci-fi cold war in the 1990s that many newer fans may not know about. Accusations of theft made the rounds as the creators of Babylon 5 felt that Star Trek: Deep Space Nine plagiarized its concept. There might be some truth to the claims, as J. Michael Straczynski apparently had meetings with Paramount about producing the show as early as 1989.

Yet, Deep Space Nine came around four years later in 1993, and Babylon 5 came around one year later in 1994. According to series actress Patricia Tallman, the two sides settled out of court on the matter, bringing in some degree to credibility to the claims. This may have been part of the reason there was so much bad blood between the shows and the fandoms.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Rocket Raccoon's (Bradley Cooper) story is over, having beautifully concluded back in "Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3." Doctor Doom's story, though, is just beginning, when Robert Downey Jr. makes his Marvel return playing a very different kind of "iron man" in 2026's "Avengers: Doomsday."

Yet, Marvel Comics is bringing this unlikely pair together for a special 40-page one-shot: "Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon" #1 — possibly the publisher's wildest crossover since "Aliens Vs Avengers" last year — and Marvel has shared an exclusive preview of the issue with /Film.

"Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon" #1 is written by J. Michael Straczynski, creator of the 1994 space opera TV show "Babylon 5" and a prolific comic book writer; "Jms" (as he's often nicknamed) just finished a run on "Captain America."

While Captain America can deliver a heart-warming and hopeful plea to his allies, only Thor has the power to wield his words with the weight of the King of All Gods. He may not rally others as effortlessly as Steve, but the heavenly weight of a god’s words is incomparable.

Following on from the "Falcon and The Winter Soldier" Disney+ series, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) has officially stepped into the role of Captain America for the franchise's fourth film. Sam is set to find himself in an international conspiracy of Hulk supporting characters, from President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (Harrison Ford), aka the Red Hulk, to the long-unseen twisted scientist Samuel Sterns/The Leader (Tim Blake Nelson).

So, of course, it's time for movie synergy. Sam is the Captain America in Jed MacKay's "Avengers" right now...

Warning: Spoilers for Ultimate Spider-Man #12Aunt May is a truly indispensable part of the Parker family in Spider-Man lore, but that idea is being put to the test with a controversial change in the new Ultimate Universe. No matter what trouble Peter goes through, he can almost always rely on his aunt for emotional support.
