New Delhi, Aug 12 (Ians) The cult classic ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ which was released four decades ago, in 1983, stands as an enduring testament to the power of satire and humour, coupled with social commentary on corruption and media, in the Indian cinema.

Directed by Kundan Shah, and starring an ensemble cast including Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Om Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah, late Satish Kaushik, Bhakti Barve and Neena Gupta, the movie was a dark satire on the rampant corruption in Indian politics, bureaucracy, news media and business.

Mumbai, Jan 23 (Ians) Actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar’s next film ‘Afwaah’, helmed by Sudhir Mishra, is set to hit the screens on February 24.

New Delhi, Dec 14 (Ians) India’s top para powerlifters including Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sudhir will be out to end the year on a high when the Fazza 12th Dubai 2022 Para Powerlifting World Cup gets underway at the Dubai Club for People of Determination on Thursday.

Sudhir will be joined by former World Championships bronze medallist Parmjeet Kumar (men’s up to 65kg), Paralympians Farman Basha (men’s upto 54kg) and Shakina Khatun (women’s up to 45kg) in the 13-member Indian team who will be seeking for the all-important world ranking points in the qualification to Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

“This year has been very good. New Delhi, Dec 8 (Ians) India’s Sudhir Saxena is all set to participate in Asian Kickboxing to be held from December 10 to 18 in Bangkok.

Sudhir has been sent by Waco India Kickboxing Federation with support of Punjab National Bank and Gauravya Facility to participate in the competition.

He recently won a silver medal in the 2nd India Open International Kickboxing Championship held at Tal Katora Stadium, here.
