Anthony Daniels, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, James Earl Jones, David Prowse, and Kenny Baker in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
While fans wait for the highly-anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is just over two months away, fans have been getting a slew of new details on Star Wars: A New Hope and other Star Wars movies thanks to a new book released this week entitled Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View. This book tells 40 stories from 40 different authors, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the iconic franchise, by telling untold stories that answer some questions fans didn't even know they wanted the answer to. For instance, we reported yesterday that the Boba Fett "no disintegrations" mystery was solved by one story in the anthology, and now another mystery from A New Hope has been put to rest, involving the infamous Stormtrooper that was never seen, Tk-421, the Stormtrooper who infamously wasn't at his post in A New Hope.

Tk-421, portrayed by actor Stephen Bayeley in an uncredited role,...

‘The Survivor’ Blu-ray Review (Severin)
Stars: Robert Powell, Jenny Agutter, Joseph Cotten, Angela Punch McGregor, Peter Sumner, Lorna Lesley, Ralph Cotterill, Adrian Wright, Tyler Coppin | Written by David Ambrose | Directed by David Hemmings

When I was younger I was a big James Herbert fan, so watching The Survivor was something I just had to do. Confusing and slow, I’ll admit I was not ready for what I found with the film, but now with its new release on Blu-ray, is it about time to give the film another chance?

When a 747 crash lands in a Sydney suburb the only other survivor is David Keller (Robert Powell). Unable to remember what happened to make the plane crash, he starts his own investigation into what happened. With the help of local psychic Hobbs (Jenny Agutter) he discovers not only why the plane crashed, but also why some of the dead refuse to be at peace.

Newswire: R.I.P. Peter Sumner, Star Wars actor
As reported by The Sydney Morning Herald (via The Hollywood Reporter), actor Peter Sumner has died following “a long illness.” Sumner was 74.

An Australian, Sumner was probably best known to American audiences as Lieutenant Pol Treidum, an Imperial officer who appeared in the original Star Wars film. Though he’s never named onscreen, Treidum is the guy working in the Death Star hangar who notices that a pair of Stormtroopers have gone missing while searching through the just-captured Millennium Falcon, prompting the weirdly memorable line, “Tk-421, why aren’t you at your post? Tk-421, do you copy?” Later, as the heroes begin their mission to rescue Princess Leia, he is attacked—and probably killed—by Chewbacca, sparing him from having to blow up along with everyone else when the Death Star is destroyed. In 1999, Sumner reprised his role in the Star Wars fan film The Dark Redemption.

The Star Wars franchise is in mourning, as a beloved cast member passed away earlier today. Peter Sumner, who played Lt. Pol Treidum in the 1977 classic Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, died at the age of 74. The actor passed after suffering from an illness for quite some time, but it wasn't disclosed what that illness was.
