Drake Bell Claims “Most” Nickelodeon Stars “Don’t Get Residuals” For Their Shows
Image
Following his bombshell revelation about the abuse he endured at Nickelodeon, Drake Bell is shedding more light on their “evil, corrupt” practices.

The Drake & Josh alum recently opened up about the “flawed” system used to protect child actors’ earnings, dispelling misconceptions that his time at the kids’ network was as profitable as it seemed.

“That’s the perception of the world, it’s always been this way,” he explained on The Unplanned Podcast. “It’s like, you know, ‘Oh, you made a Folgers Coffee commercial. You must live in a mansion in Hollywood. Like, I saw you on TV. You’re rich.'”

Bell added, “That’s far from the case. And especially, which is the bummer for most of us on Nickelodeon, we don’t get residuals for our shows.”

After starring alongside Josh Peck in the sitcom for its four-season run from 2004 to ’07, Bell noted that the goal...

Taran Killam Praises Amanda Bynes For Giving Him “My First Job”: “Truly One Of The Best”
Image
From The Amanda Show to Saturday Night Live, Taran Killam is reflecting on the sketch comedy pipeline that paved the way for his current career.

The actor and comedian recently praised Amanda Bynes as “one of the most talented people I’ve ever met,” expressing his gratitude for her helping launch his “grown-up acting career” when she cast him on her Nickelodeon variety show, which ran for three seasons from 1999 to 2002.

“It was my first job, literally the last week of high school I got cast on her show,” he recalled on the Fly on the Wall podcast. “We worked together for three weeks then. I went away to college, I didn’t have an agent anymore, I was focused on school. They called me back to do more, they helped me get an agent.”

Killam made his debut on The Amanda Show in 2000, playing the lovesick Spalding in the...

Image
The woman who played Drake Bell’s mom on the Nick show Drake & Josh is expressing sadness over his abuse claims at the hand of former dialogue coach Brian Peck.

In 2003, Peck, 43 at the time, was arrested on 11 charges — including sodomy, lewd act upon a child 14 or 15 by a person 10 years older, and oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance — but the minor was not named until now.

Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes' Very Own Show Premiered 15 Years Ago – And Et Was There
Amanda Bynes
Back in 2001, we talked to the rising young star on the set of Nickelodeon's 'The Amanda Show.' What went wrong?

It's hard to believe but October 16 marks 15 years since The Amanda Show -- starring a then-13-year-old Amanda Bynes -- first premiered on Nickelodeon.

Airing from 1999 to 2002, the All That spin-off show turned Bynes, now 28, into a star.

But clearly, it hasn't all been smooth sailing from there. In the last month, the troubled actress has made daily headlines with erratic behavior, explosive allegations and – on October 10 – a return to being held at a psychiatric treatment facility, potentially for up to a year.

Video: Amanda Bynes' Psych Hold Extended to 2 Weeks, Hit 'Breaking Point' With Abuse Allegations

Both Bynes' mental health struggles and trouble with the law are well-documented, but when did it all start going south for the troubled child star?

Let's take a look back at a timeline of her troubles...
