Will Apple Ever Air ‘Tehran’ Season 3?
Image
For several years, the cat-and-mouse game between Iranian and Israeli intelligence has been not just one of the most gripping events in the news but one of the most compelling spectacles on television.

The Israeli show Tehran, which Apple TV+ bankrolls and airs globally, has earned accolades over its first two seasons for the tense, authentic way it depicts Mossad agents inside Iran seeking to undermine the regime.

But a strange silence has fallen over the drama since Iran attacked Israel via its Hamas proxy on Oct. 7 2023, kicking off Israel’s War in Gaza and, eventually, in Lebanon and Iran. Though Tehran’s third season was finished by mid-2023, Apple indefinitely postponed its debut several times in the wake of the attack, including from a planned April 2024 date, and the show hasn’t been heard from anywhere outside of Israel since. (The streamer gave the greenlight to the producer, Israeli public broadcaster Kan,...

Mobland (2025) Recap & Ending Explained: Who is Eddie’s real father?
Image
MobLand (2025) is a British crime thriller created by Ronan Bennett, known for Ray Donovan. The Paramount+ series stars Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza, a calm but sharp fixer for the Harrigan family—an Irish crime clan based in London. The family is led by Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan), though it’s Maeve Harrigan (Helen Mirren) who really runs the show from the background.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Anthony Byrne, Daniel Syrkin, and Lawrence Gough, Season 1 builds a world shaped by power struggles, loyalty, and quiet betrayals. As the man trusted to handle the dirty work, Harry moves between boardroom-style decisions and street-level chaos, doing whatever it takes to keep the Harrigan empire intact.

In this article, I’ll take a deep dive into the series explaining what happened across the season and break down the ending. Please be aware – the article contains spoilers, reader’s discretion is advised.

‘MobLand’ Emmys Shakeup: Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan Both Submitted for Lead Drama Actor, Helen Mirren Goes for Supporting (Exclusive)
Image
Paramount+ is going all-in on its critically acclaimed British crime drama “MobLand.”

Revealed to Variety exclusively, the company is launching an ambitious Emmy campaign that surprisingly places both Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan in the running for lead drama actor. The decision to push Brosnan as a co-lead — rather than a supporting contender as many had assumed — is one of several surprising moves in the streamer’s Emmy strategy.

Helen Mirren, meanwhile, will compete for supporting drama actress, avoiding a head-to-head clash with her own work in “1923,” Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama, where she is considered a possible contender for lead drama actress.

Created by Ronan Bennett, “MobLand” centers on Harry Da Souza (Hardy), a fixer for the powerful London-based Harrigan crime family, led by Conrad (Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Mirren). As rival gangs threaten the family’s empire, Harry is tasked with maintaining control and preventing a full-scale war.

International Insider: Israel-Hamas Conflict; A Week At Mia; Mipcom Awaits
Image
Welcome back to Insider. It’s been a heavy few days for the world and the entertainment sector, but Jesse Whittock is here with the most important TV and film news of the past week for you.

Israel-Hamas Conflict

Shock and horror: It’s hard to know where to begin with the tragedy unfolding in the Middle East. Thousands have died since a Hamas-led militia crossed the Gaza Strip border and began attacking Israeli villages and kibbutzes. There’s no end to the conflict in sight, with Israel now blockading Gaza and ordering Gaza City residents to evacuate, while there is growing international concern about the safety of Palestinian citizens who will soon be devoid of food, water and fuel. The history of the conflict runs deep and this isn’t the forum to discuss it, beyond believing that violence cannot be the answer. Like the rest of the world,...

‘Fauda’ & ‘Tehran’ Co-Creators Detail How They Are Helping Israeli Relief Efforts As Ted Sarandos Pays Tribute To Sound Tech Who Was Victim Of Attack
Image
The co-creators of Fauda and Tehran have detailed how they are helping relief efforts as Ted Sarandos paid tribute to Lior Waitzman, a sound technician on Netflix’s first Hebrew-language original series, who was killed on Saturday during the Hamas-led attack on Israel.

“A lot of folks are still reeling from this horrific terrorist attack from Hamas,” said Netflix co-ceo Sarandos at the top of an on-stage talk with Bloomberg. “Many of us have probably lost friends and family. At Netflix, one of the victims, Lior Waitzman, was working on our first Netflix original series there, called Bros.”

On Saturday morning, an unsuspecting Waitzman went out cycling, before the attack began. A short while later he texted his wife to say there had been a shooting. “That is the last we heard from him, as he was a victim of that terrorist attack,” said Sarandos.

“It’s a horrific thing...

Image
Tel Aviv-based Donna and Shula Productions and “Tehran” director Daniel Syrkin have set a joint venture, Danush Studios, to develop TV series for the global market, with an emphasis on the U.S. and Europe.

Donna and Shula Productions leaders Dana Eden and Shula Spiegel have shepherded two seasons of the espionage drama series “Tehran” with Syrkin. The series debuted in June 2020 on Israel’s Kan 11 broadcast network. Apple TV+ quickly picked up the show, making it the first non-English series to premiere on the platform. “Tehran” bowed on Apple TV+ in 2021 and the streaming giant partnered with Kan 11 on the production of a second season that premiered in May.

The spy drama revolves around a female Mossad agent, played by Niv Sultan, on a dangerous assignment. The series, which features Glenn Close in Season 2, went on to win the International Emmy Award for drama series last year.

Tehran: Glenn Close, Niv Sultan, Dana Eden, and Daniel Syrkin Preview an Explosive Season 2
Tehran (2020)
Tehran Season 1 was an international hit for a reason.

Focusing on the Israel-Iran conflict through Mossad agents infiltrating Iran to stop their development of nuclear power, Tehran offers edge-of-your-seat conflict and compelling character studies. It's not easy to point fingers and determine good and evil on Tehran, and it's all the better for it.

Tehran Season 2 changes direction with a flashier, more youthful vibe, and with an expanded budget, this Apple TV+ thriller takes the action and suspense to another level. We had the chance to talk with Glenn Close, who joins the second season, as well as star Niv Sultan, co-creator Dana Eden, and director Daniel Syrkin.

We hope you enjoy the discussion and get your fix with the first three episodes of the second season on Apple TV+ today!

Thanks so much for taking the time today. Congratulations on your International Emmy.

Dana: Thank you.

Daniel: Thank you very much.

Can Apple’s slick espionage thriller ‘Tehran’ infiltrate 2022 Emmys?
Image
“Once you’re in, there’s no way out,” according to the tag line for Israeli/U.S. co-production “Tehran.” Never has a truer word been written when it comes to the spy thriller’s nail-biting eight-episode first season, which concluded in July 2020. And now fans of the show are on the edge of their seats again on the eve of its sophomore season premiere this Friday, May 6 on Apple TV Plus. Will “Tehran” Season 2 infiltrate the 2022 Emmys?

Trust me, this show hooks you from the moment a commercial plane flying from Jordan to India is forced to make an emergency landing in Iran, launching a series of events in which undercover Mossad agents try desperately to stay one step ahead of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (Irgc) agents hunting them down. This is not your average run-of-the-mill spy thriller. Think “24” or” “Homeland,” but on steroids.
