Annapurna president Nathan Gary is stepping down and leaving the company after a three-year stint, according to an insider with knowledge of the company. Deborah Mars and Nathan Vella, the co-heads of the indie gaming division, are also departing.
Under the leadership of Annapurna founder and CEO Megan Ellison, Annapurna will more closely integrate its in-house gaming and cross-media strategy with the overall business as the company approaches IP and storytelling from a multimedia perspective, leveraging its expertise across live-action and animated film and television, gaming and theater.

Annapurna has partnered with Remedy Entertainment to develop and produce their award-winning “Control” and “Alan Wake” video game franchises for film, television and other audiovisual formats, the companies announced on Thursday.
As part of the deal, Annapurna will also work with Remedy as a co-production and co-financing partner for the upcoming sequel “Control 2.” Remedy will continue to focus on developing “Control 2” and the rest of its slate of games, building on their successful track record as a game developer and development partner.
