Jaime Pressly's 15 Best Movies And TV Shows
Image
The best Jaime Pressly movies and TV shows contain an interesting mix of genres but she always stands out when she gets her chance to shine. Presley started her career as a teenager when she got involved in modeling while also training as a gymnast. By the time she was 15, she dropped out of high school and moved to Japan to further her modeling career. This led to her first TV appearance, where she had an uncredited role on Baywatch, which then led to her first major breakout.

In 1997, the 20-year-old Presley was cast as the lead in Poison Ivy: The New Seduction, the third movie in the franchise that starred Drew Barrymore and Alyssa Milano before her. From there, her career started to pick up steam, although she almost found herself typecast in similar roles in movies like Joe Dirt and TV shows like My Name is Earl. Despite this,...

Why Laurence Fishburne Left CSI After Season 11
Image
Laurence Fishburne left CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for a specific reason. The show, which premiered on CBS in 2000, was created by Anthony E. Zuiker and ran for 15 seasons, in the process spawning half a dozen spinoffs including CSI: Miami, which ran for 10 seasons, and CSI: NY, which ran for nine. The flagship show, which followed a Las Vegas Police Department crime scene investigation team, featured a rotating cast of stars over the years, which included William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Gary Dourdan, George Eads, Jorja Fox, Paul Guilfoyle, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Louise Lombard, and Elisabeth Shue.

Laurence Fishburne joined the CSI franchise in 2008, first appearing on the flagship show in season 9 as former medical doctor Raymond Langston and becoming a main cast member two episodes later, after the departure of Petersen's longtime character Gil Grissom, who had been a part of the series since the pilot. During his tenure,...

Why Leiv Schreiber Was Only on CSI for 4 Episodes

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is one of those network shows that feels like it's been around forever. It follows a team of crime scene investigators working for the Las Vegas Police Department, and it focuses more on science and physical evidence to solve murders than thrilling police work. In the world of police procedurals, CSI felt like a breath of fresh air. And it showed in the ratings. During its original broadcast, CSI became CBS' most successful series with the highest ratings. Its tremendous popularity launched an entire franchise that has since produced various spin-offs.

CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 10 Review: Tunnel Vision
CSI: Vegas (2021)
Max is in danger, and Chris is unconscious.

For a series on its last episode after a recent cancellation order, CSI: Vegas threw viewers straight into the action from the opening scene.

As fans say goodbye to the CSI team we've grown fond of for the last three years, CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 10 gave fans a conflicting farewell.

The revolving theme for this season has been the AI robots. Max still has Ocho in her lab from CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 5, "It Was Automation."

So, naturally, everyone believed the bad guy they were after was the company's founder, Truman Thomas.

But on the last episode of the series, fans got the best misdirect we've seen in a while.

'Cause the bad guy was dead and, in fact, innocent all along. He was just a pawn in the wheel of a bigger plan.

Throughout the hour, an unnamed bad guy...

CBS Officially Reveals the Future of CSI: Vegas
Image
The crime scene investigations in Las Vegas are over at CBS. Following reports that CSI: Vegas was in serious danger of getting canceled, the bad news has now been confirmed, as CBS has axed the CSI sequel series after three seasons.

Per Deadline, CSI: Vegas was one of two shows to get axed on Friday. So Help Me Todd has also been canceled, and this news comes as a bit of a shock, as it had been a solid ratings performer alongside CSI: Vegas. However, compared with the other shows on CBS, they were still the least-watched drama shows on the network for the Spring 2024 season. With so many other CBS shows getting renewed, and with new shows like NCIS: Origins, Watson, and the Matlock reboot debuting in the fall, the axe had to fall somewhere, sealing the fate of CSI: Vegas and So Help Me Todd. Worse yet for...

‘So Help Me Todd,’ ‘CSI: Vegas’ Canceled at CBS
Image
Both “So Help Me Todd” and “CSI: Vegas” have been canceled at CBS, Variety has learned.

“So Help Me Todd” is currently airing its second season at the broadcaster, while “CSI: Vegas” is airing its third. Both shows are scheduled to air their season finales in May, which will now serve as series finales.

The two shows were some of the few CBS shows awaiting words on their fates for next season. The only other CBS shows with pending renewal statuses are “The Equalizer” and “NCIS: Hawai’i.” They are both solid performers, with “So Help Me Todd” averaging 7.7 million viewers an episode in multiplatform Live+35 and “CSI: Vegas” averaging 7.6 million. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, CBS simply did not have enough room on the schedule to bring them back.

In addition to its many previously announced renewals, CBS already has a number of new shows set to debut next season.

CSI: Vegas Season 3: Cast, Release Date, and Everything Else You Need to Know
This may be the season that CSI: Vegas finally stands on its own two feet.

In its first two seasons, this hybrid has faced a difficult challenge. It's not a revival of the popular series, which ran for 15 seasons on CBS. It isn't a reboot, with new characters repopulating an old concept.

Instead, in its first two seasons, CSI: Vegas has featured a couple of legacy characters to draw in viewers of the original series.

In CSI: Vegas Season 1, power couple Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) returned to clear the lab's reputation and former lab rat David Hodges (Wallace Langham) from a well-crafted frame.

Meanwhile, seemingly in the background, the lab's new criminologists solved the day-to-day cases.

What Were the Highlights of CSI: Vegas Season 2?

The second season struck a better balance between new and old. It almost had to.

The return of Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) was well handled.

He’d started his account, @ChrisSolves, when he was in the academy, and among the viral videos he’d posted was one about a case from four years earlier; the victim and his friend had been charged with murder. But the forensics didn’t line up with what the Da was saying, as Chris said in his video — and Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda), who’d left the lab before Chris started, DMed him and shared he had the same questions. CSI: Vegas Season 2 Brings Back Original Star Eric Szmanda
Image
Eric Szmanda will be returning to the CSI franchise in upcoming episodes of CSI: Vegas. The crime drama premiered on CBS last year and serves as a sequel to the popular, and long-running, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. CSI: Vegas Locks In Original Star Eric Szmanda

Another familiar face is headed back to Sin City.

TV Line reported Thursday that Eric Szmanda has closed a deal to return to the CSI universe on an upcoming episode of CSI: Vegas Season 2.

The actor was a pivotal part of the original series, appearing on all 15 seasons when it aired on CBS.

Despite forging ahead with a largely new cast, CSI: Vegas has had some franchise mainstays to appease fans of the original series.

CSI: Vegas Season 1 had Jorja Fox and William Petersen, but they both decided to depart following the opening season of the reboot.

Petersen had a one-season deal, but there was the hope Fox would continue on as Gil Grissom's love interest Sara Sidle.

Fox felt it would be cruel to split up Gil and Sarah again, so announced after the series had been renewed that she would not be back.

“CSI” Og Marg Helgenberger will return to the role of Catherine Willows for “CSI: Vegas” this fall, a continuation of CBS’ long-running forensics crime franchise, and on Friday the actress revealed part of the reason you’ll see her back is because she missed her character.

“When I left, midway through Season 12 of the original series, I needed to step back because I played the role for so long, and it had become such a part of my life that I felt she had become a part of my identity a little bit,” the actress said during CBS’ presentation at the Television Critics Association virtual summer press tour. “Having that perspective of being away from her and then coming back and in a big way as this, I did miss her actually. I missed her; I missed her passion; I missed her swagger; I missed her spunk.”

‘CSI’ Revival Nears Series Order at CBS, Adds Three to Cast
Image
CBS is nearing a series order for what would be an event-series revival of crime-lab procedural “CSI,” with Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria and Mel Rodriguez joining the cast, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The Anthony Zuiker and Jerry Bruckheimer series, which aired from 2000-2015, was a longtime hit for the broadcaster. Centering on the crime-solvers of the Las Vegas Crime Lab, the original cast starred William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, George Eads, Gary Dourdan, Jorja Fox, Paul Guilfoyle, Robert David Hall, and Eric Szmanda. In later seasons, Laurence Fishburne and Ted Danson succeeded Petersen in the lead role.

This iteration has added Newsome, a longtime film, TV and stage actor. She is most recently known for her performance opposite Henry Winkler and Bill Hader as detective Janice Moss in HBO’s “Barry,” as well as a 12-episode arc on NBC’s “Chicago Med.” Other television credits include “City of Angels,...

‘CSI’ Event Series Revival in Development at CBS
Marg Helgenberger, George Eads, and William Petersen in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000)
“CSI” could be coming back to CBS.

Variety has confirmed with sources that the broadcaster is eyeing a potential event series revival of the megahit show, which aired on the network from 2000-2015. The project is in the very early development stages and no original cast members are currently attached.

The idea would be to release the new installment in time for the show’s 20th anniversary in October, but no deals are in place as of yet. Original series creator Anthony Zuiker is in talks along with executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer and the show’s creative team. Jason Tracey would write the script. Tracey most recently worked on the CBS series “Elementary” in addition to shows like “Burn Notice” and “Cold Case.”

CBS and CBS Television Studios declined to comment.

“CSI” proved to be a breakout hit for CBS, drawing massive ratings for the network and quickly becoming one of TV’s most-watched shows.

Ricky Gervais, Pamela Anderson, Joanna Lumley, Shelley Morrison, and Marilu Henner are among a host of international stars supporting a campaign by Animal Defenders International (Adi) to end the suffering of wild animals in travelling circuses in the United States, through the passing of H.R. 1759, the Traveling Exotic Animal and Public Safety Protection Act (Teapspa).

Ahead of World Circus Day, 21st April, Adi called on the public to visit shows where the acts have a choice about performing, and ask their Representatives to support Teapspa, as urged by celebrity supporters.

Multi-award-winning actor and comedian, writer, producer, director, musician Ricky Gervais: “For animals in circuses, there is no escape from the merry-go-round of imprisonment, deprivation, and being forced to perform. Elephants, lions, tigers, bears, and others live a life of desperation and fear. It doesn’t have to be this way. Please support the Traveling Exotic Animal and Public Safety...

CSI Says Goodbye With a Totally Insane But Perfectly Fitting Series Finale & We Are Weirdly Emotional Over It
Full Disclosure (2001)
Full disclosure: I haven't watched CSI in years, but that didn't mean tonight wasn't a total emotional roller coaster for me.  I watched every single episode for the first nine seasons at least, and even stuck around for a couple more after Grissom left (and broke my heart in the process).  Even when I stopped watching, the show never really left my brain. I can't hear The Who's Who Are You without singing along for 30 seconds, and that time Nick Stokes (George Eads) was buried alive still haunts me to this day. I know weird things about bugs thanks to this show, and we will never forget the way cute lab tech Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda) awakened some previously...

Mad Max: The Wastelands

Though there's demand for it, talk of a sequel to "Mad Max: Fury Road" remains premature at this point it would seem. Though having already scored a rumored title - "Mad Max: The Wasteland" - "Fury Road" star Charlize Theron did not seem to know anything about another 'Max' film when asked about it this week.

Speaking with USA Today, Theron says: "What's Wasteland? This is all news to me. I have not heard anything like that."

CSI: Season 15 Ratings
CBS has moved CSI: Crime Scene Investigation to Sunday nights at 10pm this season -- typically a sign that a show is on its way out. But, could the ratings turnaround and start to rise? Will the venerable series be renewed for a 16th season or will this be the end? Stay tuned.

The original CSI continues to follow Las Vegas crime scene investigators as they try to solve bizarre cases. This season's castmates are Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue, George Eads, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Wallace Langham, David Berman, Elisabeth Hamois, and Jon Wellner.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- usually the next day, around...

CSI: CBS Cuts Season 15 Episodes
For the first time since the 2008 writers strike, veteran crime drama CSI won't have a full season of episodes. CBS has reportedly decided to cut season 15's order from 22 to 18 installments.

The original CSI continues to follow Las Vegas crime scene investigators as they try to solve bizarre cases. This season's castmates are Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue, George Eads, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Wallace Langham, David Berman, Elisabeth Hamois, and Jon Wellner.

The ratings are understandably down year-to-year, thanks to CSI's move to Sunday nights when start-times often get pushed thanks to football over-runs. Still, the numbers aren't bad compared to previous year's timeslot occupants.

The episode trim is supposedly due to the network having too much programming waiting in the wings. New series CSI: Cyber will take over the Sundays at 10pm timeslot later...
