A Toronto-based producer, writer, casting director and broadcaster, Anne Tait produced the international award-winning Canada/China co-production IRON ROAD, a love story that defies all the taboos. A poor but feisty Chinese woman, disguised as a guy nicknamed 'Little Tiger', fakes her way to North America in the 1880s to search for her long-lost father. She works on the explosives crew, building the new railroad through the mountains, and falls in love with the privileged son of the railroad tycoon, who thinks she's a boy!

Anne has written and directed for the theater, for CBC Radio, and for television. Her hit play "Yeats in Love" was produced in Toronto, at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin and on tour in Canada; the television version was produced by the University of Toronto, the radio version by CBC, and Anne Tait Productions is now developing the feature film version.

In her long career as a casting director, Anne cast award-winning feature films like Margaret's Museum with Helena Bonham Carter , Screamers, Deathwish 5, plus TV series and MOWs - American and Canadian - including Avonlea starring Sarah Polley, A Gift to Last with Gordon Pinsent, Goosebumps, Ready or Not, and the Composers, Artists & Inventors Specials. She was casting director for the Stratford Shakespearean Festival, was nominated for an Emmy and honored with the career achievement 'Maverick Award' by the Female Eye Film Festival .
