Exclusive: Oscar-nominated screenwriters Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson have signed on to pen the screenplay for Skyway, a WW2 action-drama based on the true story of Captain Moon Chin – an unsung Asian American hero of the “Hump” airlift mission, the most perilous aviation route of World War 2.

Depravity is a new Hitchcockian thrillride that sees a young woman (Victoria Justice) suspect that her neighbor, Mr. Evers (Dermot Mulroney), is a potential murderer. After things go awry, the woman and her friends quickly discover more about Mr. Evers than they ever could have possibly imagined. Despite only having a single line of dialogue in the entire film, Mr. Evers still plays a pivotal role in Depravity, and according to writer and director Paul Tamasy, several other big name actors were in the running for the part before it went to Scream VI star Dermot Mulroney.

Any plugged-in millennial likely remembers the Nickelodeon show Victorious starring Victoria Justice as Tori Vega. Lately, Justice has been starring in thrillers as well as putting out more music. I got the chance to talk to Justice ahead of her new film Depravity. She stars in it as Grace alongside Devon Ross, Taylor John Smith, and Dermot Mulroney. The film premiered last week, with Collider's Steve Weintraub even hosting an early screening and Q&a with director Paul Tamasy.

Paul Tamasy’s directorial debut, Depravity, starring Victoria Justice, is a strangely generic crime thriller that aims to convey the inner darkness prevalent among people through a tedious, overtly stretched-out story involving three youngsters and a series of bloody mischiefs. While the premise is simple and somewhat interesting, the plot isn’t gripping at all, and the characterization and acting are mediocre at best, if not unnecessarily over the top most of the time, making the nearly two-hour-long movie feel like an eternity. The third act completely falls apart without adding any sort of emotional weight to the narrative, and by the time Depravity reaches its ending, you probably won’t care about the fate of the characters anyway, because nothing in the narrative implored you to do so.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is getting another shot at finding an audience. Lionsgate has revealed that the Henry Cavill-led action movie is heading to Premium Video on Demand and Premium Electronic Sell-Through this Friday.

Although The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has been in theaters for less than a month, the movie has drastically underperformed at the box office. At the time of writing, Ungentlemanly Warfare has only grossed $19.3 million worldwide off a budget of $60 million, meaning that the movie is destined to be a financial failure, at least during its theatrical run. This is likely why Lionsgate is releasing The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare on PVOD on Friday, May 10, hoping that those who don't frequent the theater will buy or rent the movie at home. Digital platforms that Ungentlemanly Warfare will be available on include, but are not limited to, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, and Vudu.

Chicago – “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare” wants to be “Inglourious Basterds” in the worst way … but Henry Cavill is no Brad Pitt, and Guy Ritchie is no Quentin Tarantino. It’s a featherweight romp about British rogues killing Nazis that’s arch, witty, and completely forgettable. It goes down easy enough, but seems unlikely to inspire the love and devotion it so clearly craves.

Guy Ritchie is back with The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Based on what is allegedly the first “Black Ops” mission it’s a variation on The Dirty Dozen and all the knock-offs that followed, right up to and including Inglourious Basterds.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare opens with a boat having just been boarded by several members of the German Navy. As they pour gasoline over the deck, they tell its occupants they have the choice of staying on board and burning to death, or jumping overboard and drowning. For some reason, however, they don’t seem very worried.

From there we jump back 25 days, to Churchill watching newsreel footage about Hitler’s U-boats keeping American troops from entering the war.

Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is based on war correspondent Damien Lewis’s book of the same name, which tells the true story of an unsanctioned British military mission to sink the German ships that supplied all of their U-boats around the Spanish island of Fernando Po during World War II. The film also makes a point of announcing that the story comes from documents from Winston Churchill’s first term in office that were declassified in 2016, introducing each shrewd and ruthlessly efficient member of the ragtag crew carrying out this mission with a litany of their qualifications.

Narratively, the film plays out like a traditional historical thriller, yet it turns these men into impossibly proficient, virtually invincible killing machines who dispose of Nazis with such casual ease that they might as well be superheroes. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an impossibly glib, rip-roaring, and exciting action picture. It’s the type of old-fashioned entertainment full of movie stars who get the job done, cracking-wise, and goddamn, they look good doing it. You can’t help but get swept up in the action and think a franchise is born.

It helps to have a cast with this much swashbuckling beefcake, including a Superman, a Reacher, and a G.I. Joe. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a film my wife calls the “Five Hot Guys” movie, with lots of eye candy and bloodshed for everyone involved. In a way, it is the perfect date movie.
