The cast of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants almost looked very different!

The women are still supporting each other in 2024. In fact, America, Amber and Alexis recently issued a statement in support of Blake amid her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.

They are part of what made the franchise as successful as it is, but we’ve learned that several other big actresses were in the running for the roles.

Producer Debra Martin Chase named six stars who were could have played Carmen, Tibby, Lena and Bridget during an appearance on the Hollywood Gold podcast.

The shortlist included one actress who was famous for her role on The O.C. and several other young actresses who have gone far in Hollywood.

If you forgot, Amber, 42, and Blake, 37, starred alongside America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel in 2005′s The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and the 2008 sequel. The four have remained very close friends throughout the years.

When Blake first went public with her allegations against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, Amber, America, and Alexis were among the first stars to publicly support her.

On Monday (June 9) after the federal judge dismissed Justin‘s lawsuits against Blake, Amber took to her Instagram Story to react.

As you may have heard by now, the entertainment world was stunned this afternoon when a judge dismissed the defamation lawsuit brought by Justin Baldoni against his It Ends With Us co-star and her husband.

This same judge also tossed out Baldoni’s $250 million libel complaint against The New York Times, which was the first to report on Lively accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign to damage her image in 2024.

“Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organizations united in defending women’s rights to speak up for their safety,” Lively wrote via her Instagram Story not long after this bombshell dropped.

Many early aughts projects are turning 20 this year, and that includes the film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, based on the book by Ann Brashares. Larry Tamblyn, the founding frontman for The Standells, brother of actor Russ Tamblyn and uncle of Amber Tamblyn, has died. He was 82.

The musician’s nephew Dennis Tamblyn announced that his uncle died on Saturday, paying tribute to Larry, who he noted “was still making music well into his later years.”

“My uncle Larry Tamblyn passed away today. I have very fond memories of him and his family over the years,” began Larry in the Facebook post.
