Nickelodeon is bringing more thunder with a new movie called Clash of the Thundermans. This comes after the success of The Thundermans Return movie and the spinoff series The Thundermans: Undercover.

According to official announcements, the new movie will launch at the same time on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in 2026. Filming is planned to start in Vancouver on July 31.

Ariel Winter, known for her roles in Modern Family and Sofia the First, is joining the cast. She will play a character named Cognita. Fans will also see familiar faces returning, including Kira Kosarin as Phoebe Thunderman, Jack Griffo as Max Thunderman, Maya Le Clark as Chloe Thunderman, Addison Riecke as Nora Thunderman, Diego Velázquez as Billy Thunderman, Chris Tallman as Hank Thunderman, and Rosa Blasi as Barb Thunderman.

Nickelodeon Studios has dropped a brand-new trailer and first-look photos for its eagerly anticipated Thundermans spinoff series. Thundermans: Undercover, which began filming last August, will premiere at 7pm on Nickelodeon on January 22.

The trailer, first-look images, and premiere details arrive via Variety. Thundermans: Undercover focuses primarily on Kira Kosarin as Phoebe, Jack Griffo as Max, and Maya Le Clark as Chloe. Nickelodeon Studios is moving forward with a spinoff to The Thundermans. The announcement follows the franchise making a recent return with a sequel TV movie.

In March, The Thundermans Return premiered on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. The TV movie still stands as the top entertainment telecast of the year so far in Nielsen's Live+3 ratings among children ages 6-11, and it reached 1.6 million viewers during its premiere weekend. Per Variety, this success has led to a spinoff series getting greenlit as well. Filming will start in August 2024 in Vancouver for a planned release on both Nickelodeon and Paramount+, similar to The Thundermans Return.

When The Thundermans aired its final episode on Nickelodeon in 2018, it went out the way it came in five years before: as a laugh-track-studded, half-hour comedy about a family of superheroes living in a fictional suburb called Hiddenville. The jokes were plentiful. The vibes were warm. The pet bunny was evil. (More on that in a moment.)

Created by Jed Spingarn, The Thundersmans was a superhero comedy series that followed the lives of the Thundermans, a superhero family doing their best to live normal lives in the city of Hiddenville. The show ran for four seasons from 2013 to 2018, at one point winning a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Show. It has since been revealed that the family is back in the reunion movie The Thundermans Return, which is coming to Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in March 2024. It seems that David Alan Grier's Chocolate News is following in the footsteps of D.L. Hughley's CNN news show, D.L. Hughley Breaks the News. After a 10-episode run, the Comedy Central show has been cancelled.

Chocolate News features comedian Grier performing satirical commentary and sketches centered around current events and news stories. The episodes are said to reflect the comic's view of world events, and one of the network's press releases even went so far as to call it a show with an “African-American take on the news."
