Georgiy Taratorkin in Nezabyvaemoe (1967)
Georgiy Taratorkin is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, teacher. People's Artist of the Russian SFSR. At the age of 7, he lost his father. He and his sister Vera were raised by their mother, who took the children to the theater from early childhood and instilled in them a love of creativity.

In 1966 he graduated from the studio at the Leningrad Youth Theater, studied with Zinovi Korogodsky and until 1974 played leading roles in the Youth Theater in most of the performances staged by Korogodskiy. In the 1970s and 1980s, when poetry was especially popular on the stage, radio and literary evenings, Taratorkin often performed with readings of poems by Aleksandr Blok and other poets of the 'Silver Age'. Critics have repeatedly noted the artist's skill, his rare ability to convey not only the content, but also the beauty of the form of the verse. In 1974, the actor received an invitation to the Mossovet Theater. His first role was Raskolnikov in the famous play by Yuri Zavadsky 'Petersburg Dreams', staged in 1969.

Since 1968, the actor began acting in films, his first film was Sofiya Perovskaya (1968). In 1969, the film Crime and Punishment (1970) was released by director Lev Kulidzhanov based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky, in which Taratorkin created the image of Rodion Raskolnikov. This role immediately made him famous throughout the country.

Since 1996, Taratorkin taught acting at VGIK, led a course. In the same year, he was elected first secretary of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia.
