Benderspink has optioned the rights to Adrian Magson's spy thriller novel "Red Station" says Heat Vision.

The story follows Harry Tate, an MI5 agent who gets blamed for a drug bust gone bad. As punishment he is sent to the titular outpost in the country of Georgia, an outpost that's also the home of various washed up operatives.

When two other agents go missing, Tate becomes embroiled in a plot involving a Russian invasion of England and corruption at the highest level of the British government.

A writer is currently being sought to adapt the book which is the first in a planned series.

Another day, another book gets optioned by Hollywood. Today it's Red Station, a fairly new novel that came out this past June.

The tinseltown company that bought the screen rights to Adrian Magson's thriller is Benderspink, the management/production entity behind the sci-fi Ashton Kutcher vehicle The Butterfly Effect and the recent remake of Arthur. Magson's book centers on a British spy in MI5 named Harry Tate. When a drug bust of Tate's goes afoul, he gets demoted and sent out to pasture to a place dubbed Red Station by the spook patrol. According to reports, the 2010 spy novel "Red Station" by author Adrian Magson has been optioned by BenderSpink ("A History Of Violence") :

"..Harry Tate" is an 'MI5' officer and a servant of the State. He does what he's told, fighting the war against terrorism, drugs and criminal gangs.

"When things go bad, and two civilians are killed during a drugs intercept, he agrees to take an immediate posting to 'Red Station'. All Harry knows is, it's in a remote place where he will be under strict orders to stay off the radar - a No Contact Rule. That includes former colleagues, friends, family - everyone. What his bosses haven't told him, however, is that Red Station is a 'punishment posting' for washed-out spooks from MI5 and MI6... and that Harry won't be coming home.

Benderspink has optioned Adrian Magson's spy novel Red Station. The novel was first published last August.

The story centers on an MI5 agent named Harry Tate, who is sent to Red Station as punishment for a botched drug bust. When two of his fellow agents go missing at the Russian outpost, Tate discovers a plot involving an imminent Russian attack against the U.K.

Jake Weiner and Christopher Cosmos will oversee the project for Benderspink. The production company is currently seeking writers to tackle this new adaptation.

Adrian Magson's follow-up to Red Station, Tracers, was published in June. Both books are the start of what is expected to be a long-running Harry Tate novel series.
