After a 14 year hiatus, the Final Destination franchise returned this year with Final Destination: Bloodlines – and movie-goers were clearly missing these movies, as Bloodlines has quickly become the highest-grossing entry in the franchise. The previous record holder, 2009’s The Final Destination, reached $187 million, but the new sequel has left that record in the dust, pulling in over $283 million. Franchise producer Craig Perry produced the new movie alongside Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts – and now, Watts has confirmed that he would be glad to work on another film in the Final Destination series.
Watts got his feature directorial debut with the Eli Roth-produced horror movie Clown, so it wasn’t shocking when he decided to circle back to the horror genre to produce and write the initial treatment for Final Destination: Bloodlines. Warner Bros. continues to dominate the box office. Its latest film, New Line/Warner Bros.' Final Destination Bloodlines, took the top box office spot with an estimated $51 million domestically, per Deadline. The film, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. The latest Final Destinationmovie, Final Destination Bloodlines, is giving another horror film, a run for its money at the box office. Per Deadline, Bloodlines, in its opening weekend,is on track to earn $45 million, just shy of the $48 million that Ryan Coogler’s vampire horror film, Sinners, made in its debut weekend.
Bloodlines, via Warner Bros., has already broken a record for the highest-grossing opening day for any film in the Final Destination franchise, earning $21 million on its first day in theaters. There’s a slight chance that Bloodlines could earn as much as $50 million this weekend, but that remains to be seen.
Warner Bros. Sinners, in its fifth weekend in theaters, is on its way to adding another $15 million this weekend after tallying $4.4 million on Friday. Sinners, thus far, has earned just shy of $300 million worldwide, with $225.3 million coming from domestic box office totals, per Box Office Mojo.

“What it’s about is making things surprising, but inevitable,” the late Stephen Sondheim told D.T. Max in a 2022 profile for The New Yorker. “That’s the great principle of all art that takes place in time.” For a quarter-century, the Final Destination series has operationalized and weaponized the spirit of this dictum to terrify audiences around the inevitability of death. Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein’s Bloodlines, its sixth entry and first in 14 years, finds frights and fun alike in a string of gory kills.
Paradoxically, the film unlocks new vitality within the franchise by largely adhering to a proven formula. Any given Final Destination film plays out like an inverted Mission: Impossible, where a loose plot connects centerpiece sequences of characters narrowly avoiding death. While the peril is similar, a small detail flips the result. Here, the Grim Reaper always wins.

A brand-new clip from Final Destination Bloodlines has finally dropped, featuring horror legend Tony Todd in his final appearance as William Bludworth. This comes less than a year after the Candyman actor passed away at the age of 69.
The video, shared by the IGN YouTube channel, provides Final Destination fans with a sneak peek of the meeting between mortician William Bludworth and the latest targets of Death's curse. Just like the previous installments, Bludworth gives them the set of rules they need to follow to survive Death's brutal traps. These include killing someone in order to steal the remaining years of their lives, or by dying in order to break the cycle.
Todd's character was first introduced in the 2000 Devon Sawa-led Final Destination, where he explained the strange phenomenon plaguing the survivors of a plane crash. Since then, Bludworth has been a staple throughout the franchise. Final Destination...

Final Destination fans, a new slew of images has been revealed, and they are the stuff of our nightmares. In times when everything old has enough nostalgic value to turn it into a sequel or prequel, the new chapter in the franchise, Final Destination:Bloodline, stands tall with its predecessor in terms of shock value and freak accidents.
The new images give us a peek at all things gore that filmmakers (and death) have in store. In one image, Owen Patrick Joyne is crawling on the ground in what seems an attempt to save his life. Another set of images expands on the party gone wrong sequence we saw in the trailer: one image sees a person on fire, another sees Brec Bassingerlooking at us while her background is clearly set on fire. Final Destination: Bloodlines finally has a release date! Warner Bros. has dated the film for May 16, 2025, after years of back-and-forth during the development process. By the time the sixth film in the franchise is released in theaters, it will have been 14 years since we last saw a Final Destination movie.
The last film in the series, Final Destination 5, was released in August 2011. Final Destination 5 was better received than the fourth entry, with some people feeling it was one of the best in the franchise. Plans for a sixth film were made shortly after, but things hit a development snag amid the Covid-19 pandemic. After that, it seemed like Warner Bros. wasn't entirely sure what to do with the franchise. At one point, it was going to be distributed by its Max streaming service.

Hallmark Mystery movies are hugely popular with self-proclaimed Sleuthers, but sometimes it isn’t clear if a mystery franchise will continue.
Meanwhile, a star of Gilded Newport Mysteries may be hinting at a new movie in the popular franchise. Danny Griffin, Ali Skovbye and Nathan Witte starred in the first movie Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers, which aired in February. Why is one of these stars hinting at a return of the franchise?

We attended a great party September 13 @ Toronto's Queen Street West rock venue "The Bovine Sex Club", as Vancouver-based director Katrin Bowen, celebrated the Canada First Tiff screening of her debut feature "Amazon Falls".
The film is described as Bowen's take on her personal 'B-movie' experiences, as a performer in Los Angeles, "...unapologetically exposing the grit behind the glitz of fame..."
Cast includes April Telek as 'Jana', William B Davis as 'Calvin', Zak Santiago as 'Aron', Anna Mae Routledge as 'Li', Ben Ratner as 'Derek',
Tom Braidwood as 'Tommy' and Gabrielle Rose as 'Margaret'.
"...'Jana' is a fading B-movie actress who was famous for her roles in Amazon movies playing a variety of pre-'Xena' warrior-princesses. Nearing 40 she is desperately trying to keep her leg in the B-movie game and decides to pursue her fading career with a zealous fervor. But new roles are elusive and the clock is ticking. Will she...

Canadian director Katrin Bowen announced on the blog of her next film, Amazon Falls, that its production is over. Besides, the film should be in film festivals.
It tells the story of Jana (April Telek), a B-movie actress. She has made a name for herself by playing "pre-Xena warrior-princesses". However, even though Jane is getting closer to her forties, she still believes that acting in B-movies is the job she deserves. As new roles become rare for her, will Jana throw the towel or keep fighting?
Other stars of the film include William B. Davis, Gabrielle Rose, Adrian Holmes, Lisa Marie Caruk, Gary Chalk, Zak Santiago, Anna Mae Routledge, Tom Braidwood, Benjamin Ratner, Matty Finochio and Alexandra Staseson.
Finally, no release date has been confirmed for this film that was shot in Burnaby, Vancouver (both are cities from British Columbia, Canada) and Los Angeles. Nonetheless, here's a behind the scene clip of the film.

“I Felt Like I Was on Happy Drugs the Whole Time” The story behind the making of ‘Amazon Falls’ sounds like a movie in itself. With no script approved, but a cast and crew on stand-by, Director Katrin Bowen called on her friend, Writer Curry Hitchborn who cranked out a complete script in two weeks (at the expense of his health and sanity apparently).
April Telek as 'Jana' and William B. David as 'Calvin' in 'Amazon Falls'
The screenplay was turned around in record time and the roles cast to tell the story of a B-actress who’s career is done - except she’s the only one who won’t accept it.
In this collection of interviews from the set, a variety of actors and creatives including (friend of MovieSet) Garry Chalk playing a security guard, April Telek as ‘Jana,’ Executive Producer Darren Reiter, Production Coordinator Drew Scott, William B. Davis as ‘Calvin,...
