Mark Grossman Auditioned for General Hospital Before Being Cast as Adam on Young and the Restless
Image
Mark Grossman is famous for his role as Adam on The Young and the Restless. The actor joined the show in 2019 as the latest Adam recast. Grossman quickly made the role his own and wowed fans with his performances. However, if fate had worked out differently, the actor could’ve been on General Hospital.

From Port Charles to Genoa City

Grossman has become one of daytime TV’s best actors. He had a tough job taking over for previous predecessors Michael Muhney and Justin Hartley, but he’s done a phenomenal job as Adam.

Yet, before landing his Y&R gig, Gh was interested in the actor.

During a recent interview State of Mind podcast, Grossman told host, Gh star Maurice Benard, that he auditioned for the ABC sudser.

“I had auditioned for Y&r at least one other time and General Hospital a couple of times,” Grossman revealed. The actor...

Y&r Spoilers: Mark Grossman Reveals All About His General Hospital Audition
Eileen Davidson, Bryton James, Joshua Morrow, Gina Tognoni, Justin Hartley, Melissa Claire Egan, and Peter Bergman in The Young and the Restless (1973)
The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates reveal in a recent interview with General Hospital’s Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) on his State of Mind podcast, Mark Grossman auditioned for Gh.

Let’s take it back to where it all began… Grossman always wanted to be a professional motocross racer but when that didn’t pan out, he started out his career as a model.

Mark Grossman Didn’t Just Start Out His Career As Adam Newman!

It’s not surprising that many celebrities auditioned for different roles at the start of their daytime careers.

Some secured the roles they aimed for immediately, while others found themselves portraying various characters across different soap operas, even on entirely different networks.

This is true for Mark Grossman, who currently plays Adam Newman on The Young and The Restless.

Initially signed with his first agency, he discovered they also handled acting and...

General Hospital Casting Director Mark Teschner Dishes On 35 Years of Iconic Actors
Image
If you’ve ever wondered how your favorite Port Charles alum gets hired, it was most likely thanks to General Hospital’s casting director, Mark Teschner, who recently revealed some behind-the-scenes secrets of his beloved hires.

Eye on the Prize

During a recent interview with ABC 7 Eyewitness News in Chicago, Teschner was celebrated for over 35 years of casting on Gh. “It’s an honor. I mean, I’m very fortunate I have a job that I love, that still excites me after 35 years.”

Teschner joined Gh in 1989 and revealed who his very first hire was. “The first series regular I cast on General Hospital was Anders Hove, who played Caesar Faison.” Hove went on to play Faison off and on from 1990-2018, becoming one of Port Charles’ most notorious villains. “And ironically, he was the first actor to actually audition for the role, out of hundreds.”

“Those whom choose to bully behind their power, will suffer their own consequences,” said former “General Hospital” star Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall) on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this evening in response to a poster claiming the actress was let go from the daytime drama series due to “her actions.”

“[Kelly Monaco was] fired for her actions. There was no vendetta. She did this herself. She phoned in her performances for Years. She thought she had more power than she did,” the X poster commented in response to another poster who alleged that the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, had a “personal vendetta against Kelly [which] created a hostile workplace.”

Standing up for herself, Monaco stated, “I do have more power than a ‘job’ it’s my voice, my experience, my truth. You can beat someone down, until they finally find the power within themselves to recover with grace and dignity. Those whom...

The news arrives with nominations in categories of television, theater, new media and short film, and on the heels of the ceremony's move from November to Jan. 22, the thick of the awards season. Feature film nominations will be announced closer to the show date. Marshall, whose adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods" bows Dec. 25, will receive the New York Apple Award, "recognizing individuals who have made special contributions to the New York entertainment...

Jon Lindstrom Reveals His "High" Ride In Music and Soaps - Part Two
In Part One of our interview, Jon Lindstrom shared his musical roots with The High Lonesome, memories of playing Hollywood clubs in the 80s, as well as some of the struggles behind the scenes at Santa Barbara. In Part Two he reveals more anecdotes about Santa Barbara, and his process of playing tortured twins Ryan and Kevin on General Hospital. Which famous soap actor almost got the role instead of Lindstrom? Find out below!

We Love Soaps TV: From the viewer’s standpoint, the 1985-1986 season you were on Santa Barbara was such a treat.

Jon Lindstrom: It was a beautifully written and produced show. It was so well done. I’m happy for that. The work showed. It was hard work, and we all sweated bullets to make it happen.

We Love Soaps TV: Your character, Mark McCormick, was popular while being so very hated.

Jon Lindstrom: Everybody hated that guy.

Scott Reeves: Coming on Board General Hospital!
No General Hospital spoilers prepared us for this:

Scott Reeves is joining the cast of the drama. The actor will debut in December as Steven Lars Webber, a character last portrayed by Shaun Benson in 2005.

According to TV Guide Magazine, Webber will be thrown into a storyline involving his half-sister, Liz, and the two men in her life: Lucky and Nikolas.

Reeves won't be a series regular, but the recurring role is ideal for the actor and country music artist, who spent a decade as Ryan McNeil on The Young and the Restless.

“I’m still writing music and still recording but I really got hungry for acting again,” said Reeves. “I’ve always had a great respect for General Hospital so I kinda courted them. It was the one show I most wanted to be on.

Steve Burton and I are best friends – we’re literally like brothers – and...
