‘He Was Furious’: Wes Anderson Recalls Clashing With Gene Hackman During One of the Late Actor's Final Films
Image
Acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson recalls the uncomfortable end of his time on the set of The Royal Tenenbaums with the late, great Gene Hackman.

Per Entertainment Weekly, Anderson recalled his time working with Hackman, specifically on 2001's The Royal Tenenbaums. "Gene was very annoyed about the money," Anderson said of the star's reaction to the small flat fee offered to the film's cast, which was used in the director's previous work, Rushmore. "He was furious. Also, he didn't want to do the film anyway. I talked him into it - I just didn't go away."

"He gave us a lot. For that small amount of money, I feel like he gave us everything he had," Anderson added. The filmmaker went on to explain that, while Hackman was overtly dedicated to the production on set, he was quick to make an exit once The Royal Tenenbaums wrapped. "Not a word. In fact,...

On set of "Homegoing"

This recently premiered at the 2021 American Black Film Festival, and it arrives on VOD starting this December. The mundane life of a 39 year old introvert is disrupted when she begins a steamy but contentious affair with a much younger Man. The project was successfully funded on Kickstater back in 2016, then originally premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival in 2018, and also played at the Kansas City FilmFest last year. Comedian / rapper Arnstar stars as Max, who dreams of a better future as a DJ. Also starring Shyrley Rodriguez, Joshua Boone, Ioan Delice, Al Thompson, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Lee Quinones, and Dorothi Fox as Grandma. The logo & title is a bit bland, but otherwise this looks good. Might...
