The episode of Resident Alien starts with a look at Asta’s past. Her aunt tells her a story of beings from space looking down on them. It isn’t that surprising then that during the episode, Asta’s aunt is open to the idea of aliens. She doesn’t even question Asta’s explanation when she realizes that Kate Hawthorne is the baby’s mom.

In fact, she immediately believes that Harry is the alien. Out of everyone in town, it just makes sense that he’s the alien! At least she is still happy to protect the baby with this explanation,...

Choose is a film from director Marcus Graves, which premiered at the 2010 Frightfest Halloween All-Nighter in Leicester Square (Quiet Earth). Recently, the film was released on DVD in the United Kingdom through G2 Pictures. The film stars some notables such as Kevin Pollak (The Usual Suspects), Bruce Dern (Monster) and Katheryn Winnick (Amusement). Each actor does their best to sell a tense thriller, but the musical work of Nathan Larson is what creates much of the tension. The story brings back the ancient Jewish law of an eye for an eye for eye, or in this case a life for a life, in what is a mostly solid thriller.

A new trailer has been circulating recently for the horror thriller Choose. This film will make its way to DVD January 17th in the United Kingdom and the teaser below will make horror fans hope for a release in North America. Currently, there are no plans to release this title in this territory.

Here’s some news to gladden the heart of anyone worried that we’d lost Robert Zemeckis to performance capture ‘toons forever: it would seem that he’s combining an old passion, time travel, with the opportunity to get back into the world of fully live-action filmmaking for Timeless. There are few details of the plot yet, but we do know it’s being written by Mike Thompson (who penned Love Happens and Dragonfly) and is planned as a major event film, most likely for Warners Bros. Great Scott! I’ve been eagerly anticipating director Robert Zemeckis‘ return to live-action as he has experimented with mo-cap for much of the last decade. After delivering Beowulf, Polar Express and The Christmas Carol, the director plans to return to his Back to the Future roots with a new time travel roots. [Deadline]

“He is at the center of a deal” with Warner Brothers to direct a new time travel pitch to be written by Mike Thompson (Love Happens, Dragonfly). The project is titled Timeless and it will be a “big tentpole picture.” Zemeckis is also rumored to be in the running for the Christopher Nolan-produced Superman reboot. A director will be announced in the next few weeks for that project.

With the Timeless script not written yet, Zemeckis could fit it into his schedule. I recently saw Back to The Future in a special theatrical showing and it still completely holds up.

After sticking with 3D animated motion-capture films for his last three outings, director Robert Zemeckis is poised to return to live-action with Timeless. It would also be a return to time-travel for the Back to the Future director as Deadline reports that the pitch is based in the genre. Warner Bros. has picked up the tent-pole project for six-figures with screenwriter Mike Thompson (Love Happens) handling the script.

Deadline reports that Zemeckis is also “rumored to be kicking the tires on such live action projects as Superman.” Other directors rumored to be on the short list for the upcoming superhero flick include Darren Aronofsky, Tony Scott, Matt Reeves, Jonathan Liebesman, Duncan Jones, and Zack Snyder.

Zemeckis is currently at work on Yellow Submarine based off the 1968 Beatles movie/album of the same name. His last live-action film was 2000’s Cast Away.

Chicago – In the realm of lazy date movies, “Love Happens” achieves a sort of morbid grandeur. There isn’t a single original or authentic moment in all 109 minutes of the picture, which is so devoted to its formulaic structure that it often doesn’t make a lick of sense. People say and do things for no conceivable reason other than to create “crises” leading to “resolutions” leading to audience exasperation.

From “In the Company of Men” to “Thank You for Smoking,” Aaron Eckhart has made a career out of playing insincere SOBs, whose smarmy personas barely mask their corruptible nature. It doesn’t help that Eckhart’s character in “Love Happens,” self-help author Burke Ryan, looks exactly like the two-faced Harvey Dent. Yet Burke is supposed to be the real deal: a genuine do-gooder whose determination to help others emerged in the aftermath of his wife’s death.

The romantic comedy "Love Happens" starring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download on February 2 of 2010, just in time for Valentine's Day.

The movie tells the story of a self-help author Dr. Burke Ryan (Eckhart) who arrives in Seattle to teach a sold-out seminar. But the therapist who asks his patients to openly confront their pain is secretly unable to take his own advice. Eloise Chandler (Aniston) has sworn off men and decided to focus on her floral business. However, when she meets Burke at the hotel where he's speaking, the two are instantly attracted. But will two people who have met the right person at exactly the wrong time be able to give love another chance?

The Blu-ray and DVD will offer several additional features. Commentaries with director and co-writer Brandon Camp, producer and co-writer Mike Thompson and executive producer Rick Solomon are included.

One of the great challenges facing any film critic is the quest to find something interesting to write about a movie like Love Happens. Coming straight from the romantic comedy drawing board, there’s virtually no cliché left unexplored by director/co-writer Brandon Camp and his writing partner Mike Thompson. It’s a dull picture, calculated counterprogramming, and watching it is akin to experiencing the giant Hollywood machine at work. Let’s run down a list of the movie’s features. Does it have a sensitive, burly man as its main character? Check. How about a beautiful modern setting? Check. Awkward yet cute meeting between seemingly mismatched partners? Absolutely there is. Our thoughts: Brandon Camp’s “Love Happens” is more of a tearjerker than a romance, and that’s certainly part of what’s wrong with the film. As awkward as it sounds, this movie would probably work a whole lot better without the love story, because at its core, it’s more about dealing with loss than falling in love.

Three days prior to the theatrical release of "Love Happens", Universal Pictures presented the world premiere of the romantic drama. The red carpet event took place at Mann's Village Theatre in

Westwood, Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, September 15, and was highlighted with the arrival of celebrities.

Leading actors, Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston, were present. Bringing in the Hollywood glamor to the red carpet, the two dressed to impress. Eckhart donned black tie suit, while his on-screen lover Aniston wore silver mini dress. They were joined by other cast members, Dan Fogler, John Carroll Lynch, Anne Marie DeLuise, Sasha Alexander, Panou and Tyler McClendon.

The cast were not the only representative from the movie on the special night. Julie Anne Robinson has signed on to direct and Mike Thompson to rewrite The Last Summer of You and Me, an adaptation of the Ann Brashares novel for Warner Bros.

According to Variety, Jessica Goldberg wrote the first draft, about a love triangle between two sisters and a young man on Fire Island. Brashares' previous novel was also turned into a movie: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

No production date has been set.

From romantic-comedy to romantic-drama, Jennifer Aniston will be releasing another movie date feature in September. "Love Happens" pairs her with "No Reservations" star Aaron Eckhart.

The Universal Pictures feature film will center on a widower (Eckhart) who becomes a best-selling author when he released his book about coping with loss. During a business trip, he falls for a woman who attends one of his seminars (Aniston), only to find out he is still not over the death of his wife.

Martin Sheen, Judy Greer, and Dan Fogler join the cast; Brandon Camp directed from a script he co-wrote with Mike Thompson.

Camp and Thompson are producing their screenplay "Choose" along with Allen Bain and Jesse Scolaro's shingle the 7th Floor. It will mark the feature directing debut of Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Robert Legato.

Katheryn Winnick stars as a journalism grad student who attempts to track down a vengeful killer (Nicholas Tucci) with the help of her detective father (Kevin Pollak) and a shrink (Bruce Dern). Talia Balsam, Cady Huffman and Richard Short are among the cast now filming in New York.

The executive producer is Michael Bassick of Markedia Worldwide, which is financing the project with the 7th Floor (Mary Stuart Masterson's "Cake Eaters").

Columbia Pictures has phoned in a mid-six against seven figure sum for Brandon Camp and Mike Thompson's script, tentatively titled 911, for Mark Gordon to produce. The project, which piqued the interest of bidding studios New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures, is a thriller about a female 911 operator who becomes convinced that her dead sister is trying to warn her of yet-to-be committed murders via cryptic emergency calls. No proof supports her claims and those around her begin to question her sanity. She then teams with a veteran homicide detective to find the killer before he hunts her down. Gordon will produce with Columbia creative executive Jonathan Kadin overseeing at the studio. Camp and Thompson will receive executive producer credit. "I have wanted to work with Camp and Thompson for a long time and they have written a great thriller that I believe is highly commercial and will have wide audience appeal," Gordon said. The writing duo, who spent some research time at 911 facilities, previously penned Dragonfly for Universal Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment, and executive produced John Doe for Fox. They are repped by Broder-Webb-Chervin-Silbermann and attorney Karl Austen.
