One Step Closer on Their New Album and the Cool Factor of Initial D
Image
Photo by Spencer Chamberlain Wilkes-Barre is a tight knit community with a thriving hardcore scene. One of the bands proudly carrying the scene forward and gaining worldwide attention is One Step Closer, who blend myriad influences into catchy, driving and fun songs. One of those influences is anime, and guitarist Ross Thompson is constantly getting ideas, especially for merch, from everyone’s favorite medium. We chatted with Ross about their new record All You Embrace (which is out now), the impeccable drip of Initial D , the community aspect of hardcore, anime, and his hometown. You've been traveling all over North America the past few months. How has that tour been? Ross Thompson : Yeah, it's been like nonstop. Right now we're home for about two months. So it's nice to kind of shut my eyes and take a little break from One Step Closer for a minute, which is nice.

Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Caleb McLaughlin, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, and Gaten Matarazzo in Stranger Things (2016)
The video game company Telltale Games announced plans to develop a game based on the hit science fiction series “Stranger Things” in partnership with Netflix on Wednesday.

The game will be published to “consoles and computers at a later date,” according to the @telltalegames account on Twitter.

The first season of “Stranger Things” was released in the summer of 2016 to both critical acclaim and overnight popularity. A second season followed in October 2017, and a third season is currently in production. The series was created by the Duffer Brothers, and its cast includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard.

The show has already been made into several video games, including a popular app for iPhone and Android titled “Stranger Things: The Game,” which takes the form of a 16-bit,...

What 'Monsters, Inc.' Directed By Ridley Scott Would Look Like
The best movie mashups involve two films with completely different tones - like "Fifty Shades of Frozen" or a Michael Bay version of "Up" - so that's why this new take on "Monsters, Inc." is so awesome.

YouTube user Ross Thompson of The Unusual Suspect created a trailer for the Pixar movie in the style of Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." It recasts the cuddly, feel-good film as a dark, ominous horror movie, with quick Scott-like cuts building mystery and tension.

Collecting screams, indeed.

The 'Harry Potter' Franchise Gets the 'Scott Pilgrim' Treatment in Trailer Mashup
Ross Thompson, for whatever reason, was inspired to pore over the whole of the Harry Potter franchise and edit it all down into one 2:35 minute trailer. The catch is he's done it in the style of Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, complete with sound effects and text overlay turning it into a comical, video game-esque preview that actually makes sense and still gets across the plotline for the Potter franchise. In that respect it's rather fantastic on top of being a fun watch altogether. yt id="-cGCcgnrXRs" width="500"...

Great Star Wars Into Darkness Mashup Trailer
Want a taste of what J.J. Abrams Star Wars is going to feel like? Here's a fun mashup trailer that brings together footage from the original Star Wars trilogy, and the music form the latest Star Trek Into Darkness trailer. This fake trailer is cut together very well, and really does a great job giving off that Abrams movie vibe. It also does a great job making the old trilogy feel fresh. The video was created by Ross Thompson, and it goes perfectly with the fanmade poster above. Check it out!
