Pop group 98 Degrees is crediting Taylor Swift as the one who inspired them to rerecord their masters.

The boy band, comprised of Jeff Timmons, Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, and Justin Jeffre, recently told E! News that they have been in the studio working on a new project after their tour wrapped.

“We’re gonna rerecord five of our classic hits in kind of the rerecord/get-your-masters-back move,” Nick said. “And then we’re also gonna have five new songs as well, and a new single coming out at the top of the year.”

Jeff noted that the group has been talking about doing it for some time because “there have been opportunities for our songs. And you know, you have these battles with the label.” But it was the global pop star who actually pushed them to make the jump.

Aaron passed away in November following a long struggle with mental illness and addiction. He was 34. Amid her grief, Angel organized Wednesday’s star-studded West Hollywood benefit concert, Songs for Tomorrow, to celebrate Aaron’s life and generate conversation around mental illness.

“I will always remember Aaron as a selfless, goofy person, who ultimately just wanted to be loved,” Angel told Et Canada prior to the concert. “Unfortunately, he didn’t learn to love himself first, which is something a lot of people struggle with. In his own words, self-love meant self-respect and self-worth — he had a hard time with that.”

Piglet was crowned the Season 5 winner of “The Masked Singer” tonight and unmasked to reveal singer, actor and TV personality Nick Lachey as the man inside the pink costume. But Lachey said his kids have known who he was ever since the season premiere on March 10 — unlike his clueless 98 Degrees bandmates.

“You know what, I don’t know if they just weren’t watching or what. But my brother [Drew Lachey] kind of heard about it and chimed in,” Lachey told TheWrap, noting that if Drew, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre did figure out he was competing on “The Masked Singer,” none of them pushed him on the matter.

After nailing his cover of the Phil Collins classic “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now”) on the Week 8 episode, the Piglet heads into the May 12 quarterfinals as the frontrunner to win season 5 of “The Masked Singer.” We’ve been a fan of his since he made his debut in Week 2 with his version of the Dan + Shay hit “Speechless.”

We’ve been sure about the real name of the Piglet since that first appearance. We concur with the four judges that the Piglet got his start in a boy band. However we don’t think he is Lance Bass, Brian Littrell, Aj McLean or Kevin Richardson.

Each time he has performed since, we became even more convinced we were right with our guess about the Piglet’s true identity. We went back and watched all his performances including “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” by Andy Grammer...

The Piglet has been one of the favorites to win season 5 of “The Masked Singer” since he made his first appearance back in Week 2. He rocked the room then with his cover of the Dan + Shay hit “Speechless.” In Week 4 he nailed his cover of “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” by Andy Grammer. The following week he did it again with “7 Years” by Lukas Graham. Then in Week 7, he impressed the four judges by shifting genres so seamlessly and delivering yet again with a performance of “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters.

When it comes to guessing the true identity of the Piglet, the judges are on the right track with their thinking that he got his start in a boy band. However we disagree with them that the Lance Bass, Aj McLean or Kevin Richardson. We’ve gone back and rewatched all of his appearances and clues packages.

With every appearance on “The Masked Singer,” the Piglet has moved one step closer to winning the Golden Mask for season 5. On April 21, he wowed us once again with his change-of-pace performance of “The Pretender” by Foo Fighters. The four judges were equally impressed with his cover of this rock classic. We agree with them that the Piglet got his start in a boy band, but we don’t think he is Lance Bass, Aj McLean or Kevin Richardson.

In advance of the April 28 special sing-along episode of “The Masked Singer,” we’ve gone back and looked at all four of Piglet’s performances. Craig Sheffer has been cast as the lead in Gregory Lamberson’s feature film adaptation of “Widow’s Point,” the supernatural book co-written by Richard Chizmar and his son Billy.

Lamberson will direct the film from his own screenplay in Western New York this month, co-producing with Tamar Lamberson. Chizmar executive produces with Erin Elizabeth Heald.

“Widow’s Point” depicts the tale of an author who spends a weekend locked in a haunted lighthouse as a publicity stunt to promote his next book. Cut off from the outside world, he finds himself targeted by sinister forces. The film takes place in four different time periods.

Sheffer’s credits include Robert Redford’s “A River Runs Through It,” “Some Kind of Wonderful,” and the TV series “One Tree Hill.

Nick Lachey shared a hilarious photo from his boy band days in 98 Degrees on Instagram Friday. “Found this on an article titled ’25 boy band shoots that went horribly wrong.’ Do you think it was the leopard print chair or the overalls?” the singer asked his over 500,000 followers.

The ever-so ’90s ensemble is a stark contrast to Lachey’s present day wardrobe – except perhaps for his sequinned outfits from his season on Dancing with the Stars months ago when he competed on the ABC dancing competition with his wife Vanessa Lachey.

The guys of 98 Degrees are back and dishing to Et about how times have changed in the 20-plus years that they've been a boy band.

Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons all took the stage for a special performance at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Saturday night. Ahead of the concert, fans lined up outside the venue in festive attire in anticipation to see the heartthrobs sing some of their classic tunes as well as tracks from their new Christmas album, Let It Snow.

When you think of 90s boybands, you think of soulful harmonies accompanied by choreographed moves.

But 98 Degrees member Jeff Timmons tells People that the band didn’t do as much as you think. “We didn’t even do choreography with 98 Degrees,” he laughs. “Well, I mean, we called it ‘strategic staging.’ Basically pointing and swaying. The feet are not that involved in what we do. There was no dancing. We scoff at dancing!”

But their “strategic staging” hasn’t prevented two of the four band members from competing on Dancing with the Stars. Nick Lachey is a frontrunner on this season.

Just 20 years after famed boyband 98 Degrees released their self-titled debut album, band members Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre are celebrating by returning to the stage for a tour to support their upcoming second Christmas album, Let It Snow.

“We wanted to do a project, in part, because it’s the 20th anniversary. We thought, ‘What a great chance to come back 20 years later and do something else,'” says Nick tells People.

Yet, after selling 10 million records worldwide and achieving eight top 40 singles in the U.

Nick Lachey has a message for his younger self.

"I would have told myself 20 years ago, 'Change your hairstyle,'" the singer, now 43, tells Et. "Don't go with the 'butt cut.'"

Saturday, July 29 marks the 20th anniversary of 98 Degrees' debut, self-titled album and the release of their first single, "Invisible Man." In honor of the milestone, Et asked the band about their memories from that day and the wisdom they've gained since.
