Did ‘And Just Like That’ Kill Off Lisa’s Dad Twice? Plot ‘Mistake’ Explained
Image
For those who’ve watched And Just Like That since the very first episode, you probably did a double take when Lisa Todd Wexley’s (Nicole Ari Parker) father died in the July 3 episode… because he already died, right? Viewers immediately recalled Ltw talking about her dad’s death when Big (Chris Noth) died in the first season. While fans took to social media to call out what they thought was a continuity “mistake” made by the writers, the And Just Like That production team revealed that’s not the case whatsoever. There’s a simple explanation — and Lisa Todd’s dad definitely didn’t die twice. The team told The Hollywood Reporter that the deceased father Lisa Todd was talking about in Season 1 was her stepfather. “I was exactly the same when my father died last year,” Lisa told Charlotte (Kristin Davis) in the first season. Her biological father,...

And Just Like That… Season 3 Trailer Teases Love Challenges and New Faces
Image
The day is finally here. The highly anticipated third season of the Sex and the City spinoff is coming soon. It’s been two years since Season 2 of And Just Like That… concluded on Max with a brief appearance by Kim Cattrall, who reprised her role as Samantha. Summer will be a challenging season for the show’s main characters.

Max Drops Season 3 Trailer

On Tuesday, April 15, Max finally shared the trailer for Season 3 of And Just Like That…, reports People. It shows the characters taking on the streets of New York City in the summertime, which is already a vibe. Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) is interested in someone new. She admits to her friends that she “really” likes this woman. But there’s a problem. She’s her “work contact.” Will this complicate matters with her job?

Meanwhile, Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) learned that her daughter Lily (Cathy Ang...

‘And Just Like That’ Season 2 Finale: What Happens to Carrie and Aidan?
Image
After 11 episodes, a rekindled romance and a highly anticipated cameo, “And Just Like That” Season 2 came to an end Thursday on Max.

Developed by Michael Patrick King, the Max original takes place 11 years after the “Sex and the City 2” movie. Instead of following four friends in their 30s, the spinoff follows three of the main friends in their 50s as they navigate friendship, careers, new romances and the complicated rules of dating later in life.

TheWrap already broke down Kim Cattrall’s return as Samantha Jones. But if you’re curious how the season ended for everyone else, here’s what you need to know.

Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) in “And Just Like That” (Photo Credit: Max) How did “And Just Like That” Season 2 end for Carrie and Aidan?

Prepare for heartbreak. “The Last Supper Part One: Appetizer” ended with Aidan (John Corbett) leaving New York ahead of Carrie...

Nicole Ari Parker on How ‘And Just Like That’ Season 2 Expands the Show’s Closet Fashion and Black Representation
Image
In episode seven of And Just Like That season two, Nicole Ari Parker’s Lisa Todd Wexley faces the kind of personal invasion by her eldest son that not even his father, Herbert (Christopher Jackson), can excuse.

Herbert Wexley Jr. (played by Elijah Jacob) has allowed a girl he’s interested in — and who visibly does not respect Lisa’s authority — to enter his mother’s most sacred of spaces: Her closet.

Fashion has always been a sticking point for Sex and the City and its streaming continuation, And Just Like That. But much of the audience’s time spent in a closet has been with Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw and, to a smaller degree, Kristin Davis’ Charlotte York, who gets her own closet-based journey this season thanks to daughter Lily (Cathy Ang).

With Lisa, And Just Like That takes viewers — and her son’s no-boundaries love interest...

35 Years of Muskie Madness: A Loving Appreciation of Blood Hook
Image
“Listen, dink. Muskie fishing is mean and violent, and it makes you do crazy things.”

Those are the words of Finner (Christopher Whiting), one of the characters in James Mallon’s offbeat, fishing-themed slasher Blood Hook. And before the film is over, Finner will know that those words are much truer than he ever thought.

The 1986 horror/comedy, released by Troma Entertainment, is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. But even after a lavish Blu-ray/DVD release from Vinegar Syndrome, Blood Hook still hasn’t gotten the appreciation it deserves. Instead, it sits with an insulting 4.3 rating on IMDb.

Admittedly, Blood Hook isn’t as polished as more appreciated gems of the ‘80s slasher era, such as The Mutilator, Blood Rage, The Burning, or Madman. It’s an absurd movie where the killer uses an oversized fishing lure that’s nearly the size of a missile to take out his victims.
