Such is the case for Outlander viewers, who have been waiting for the eighth and final season of the successful historical fantasy series that airs on Starz.

The announcement that Outlander season 8 will introduce even more new characters makes me really worried about the show's ending. Even though Outlander season 7 hasn't finished airing yet, I'm already looking ahead to how Starz's biggest series will wrap up its epic, time-hopping drama. Based on Diana Gabaldon's Outlander book series, the show revolves around Claire (Caitrona Balfe), a nurse from the 1940s who is transported back to 1743 Scotland, and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a charming Highland warrior. While Claire and Jamie's relationship has had its ups and downs, I'm invested in their dynamic, above all else.

Outlander is also currently in production on a 10-episode eighth and final season. Britannia star Hugo Speer and Trust Me’s Sharon Small are to lead the cast for U.S. Svod service Acorn’s first straight-to-series commission.

The pair are joined by Casualty and EastEnders actor Bailey Patrick and newcomer Tori Allen-Martin in the five-part drama, which will tell the story of a team of top murder detectives and will be shot like a documentary. Each episode will feature a different murder in addition to a serialized story involving the lead detective’s missing wife.

Speer, who has also starred in ITV’s Marcella and BBC’s The Musketeers, stars as Detective Inspector David Bradford, who comes back to work after his wife goes missing and there are still no significant leads on her case. Small plays ambitious Detective Sergeant Vivienne Cole, who has been running the murder team in David’s absence and is frustrated by David’s approach to their investigations.

Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar are to lead a new ITV drama series.

Unforgotten will be a six-part series written by Undeniable's Chris Lang, and will focus on a 39-year-old murder case.

The bones of a young man are discovered below a demolished house, prompting an investigation that rocks the lives of four people who have been waiting for this moment to come.

Trevor Eve, Bernard Hill, Ruth Sheen and Tom Courtenay will also star in the drama.

Walker and Bhaskar will play the lead roles of Dci Cassie Stuart and DS Sunil 'Sunny' Khan, who will look into the case and speak to the four main suspects.

The drama will be set in different areas of the UK, including the London suburbs, the Essex coast, Westminster and the Fens.

Other supporting cast members include Gemma Jones, Brian Bovell, Cherie Lunghi, Hannah Gordon, Claire Goose, Tamzin Malleson, Frances Tomelty and Peter Egan.

Starz has picked up a dense and confusing 10-episode drama series based on Philippa Gregory’s The Cousins War trilogy: The White Queen, The Red Queen and The Kingmaker’s Daughter. The new series, which will be called The White Queen, is being executive produced by former HBO Films president Colin Callender, thanks to a two year deal with his company, Playground. Part of the deal will see him as executive producer on Magic City’s second season. Callender will be working once again with former HBO boss Chris Albrecht, now the CEO of Starz, and Carmi Zlotnik. Washington, Mar 25: Sting has admitted that he has not been an ideal father to his kids and says it's because of his job and how he was raised.

The 60-year-old rocker, who has four children with wife Trudie Styler and two kids from his marriage to Frances Tomelty, didn't learn very much from his own parents about raising a family and admits being on the road a lot make the job even harder.

"I've never been an ideal father because of my job and because of the way I was parented - it didn't give me any clues about how to do it," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
