Jennifer Garner And Netflix Reteam For ‘Yes Day’ Sequel As Part Of New Multi-Picture Deal

Jennifer Garner is reteaming with Netflix on a Yes Day sequel and other projects, after signing a new multi-picture deal with the streamer.

The second Yes Day film is currently in development, with Garner once again producing and reprising her role as Allison Torres.

“I first worked with Jen on The Kingdom 15 years ago and consider myself very lucky to still be in business with her today,” said Netflix’s Head of Global Film, Scott Stuber. “As an actor, she’s proven herself to be incredibly versatile in unforgettable roles spanning fast-paced action, heartfelt comedies, and thought-provoking dramas. She approaches every aspect of her work with such detail and preparation, which makes her an extremely valuable partner and producer. We look forward to celebrating another Yes Day with Jen and collaborating on many other exciting projects.”

Exclusive: Edgar Ramírez, the double Golden Globe and Emmy nominated actor who played Gianni Versace in FX’s lauded limited series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story has boarded Jennifer Garner’s Netflix movie Yes Day.

Ramírez will play Carlos, the husband to Garner’s character, Allison Torres. He joins Jenna Ortega who we announced is playing Katie Torres, their daughter.

Adapted by Justin Malen (Office Christmas Party), Yes Day is based on the children’s book by Tom Lichtenheld and Amy Krouse Rosenthal. The concept revolves around parents attempting to make it through an entire day by only saying “yes” to their children’s requests, a tradition Garner practices with her own children. With Miguel Arteta (Like a Boss) attached as director, the film is produced by Garner, Lawrence Grey, Ben Everard, Nicole King, Adam Marshall, Mark Moran and Daniel Rappaport. Entertainment 360 and Grey Matter Productions are also producing.

Exclusive: Jenna Ortega has been cast in a lead role in Jennifer Garner’s upcoming Netflix movie Yes Day, in which she stars and also produces.

Ortega will play Katie Torres, the daughter of Allison Torres (Garner). Katie is a willful 14-year-old who craves more independence from her parents. With their Ok of “Yes Day,” however, Katie gets just enough freedom to choke on it. Cameras roll next month in Los Angeles.
