Masters of the Universe (1987) gets a collector’s edition Blu-ray release
Image
Largely rejected upon its release back in 1987, the live-action film adaptation of Masters of the Universe (watch it Here) has gathered a cult following over the decades, and elements of the film have even been worked into the recent animated Netflix shows Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Masters of the Universe: Revolution. On April 17th, Umbrella Home Entertainment in Australia will be giving the film a collector’s edition Blu-ray release – and copies are available for pre-order Here! (Just make sure you have the ability to play Region B Blu-rays before ordering one.)

Directed by Gary Goddard from a screenplay by David Odell, Masters of the Universe has the following synopsis: When the evil Skeletor finds a mysterious power called the Cosmic Key, he becomes nearly invincible. However, courageous warrior He-Man locates inventor Gwildor, who created the Key and has another version of it. During a battle, one of...

Masters of the Universe Begins Shooting in Late Summer
It was just a few days ago that we passed along word that Sony and Band of Robbers directing duo Aaron and Adam Nee's new big-budget reboot of Mattel's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe flick may have snagged its lead. Supposedly, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, The Fosters and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser star Noah Centineo is in talks to play He-Man. And today we have word that, regardless of who ends up playing Prince Adam and/or He-Man, this new movie will begin shooting in Prague on August 19th.

It's about time this reboot got to the shooting stage as a reimagining of Masters of the Universe has been teased for as long as I can remember. Actually, it has really only been a big project in Hollywood since 2007 when rumors were circling that Face-off and Broken Arrow director John Woo was...

Hotel Arthritis Renamed Silent But Deadly; New Trailer and One Sheet Arrive
I think we can all agree that there haven't been enough nursing home-based horror-comedies lately. The sub-genre is basically barren aside from Bubba Ho-Tep; however, the upcoming Silent But Deadly is ready to drop some more horrific retirement palace humor on you.

Originally titled Hotel Arthritis (which is a pretty hilarious handle in its own right), Silent But Deadly has grabbed this new name, redesigned its movie poster (see below), and even shot a new trailer (see below as well…probably should have told you it was down there when we told you about the poster…sorry).

The cast of this film is absolutely wonderful, including Dawn Wells (MaryAnn from "Gilligan's Island"), John Tartaglia (Broadway's Avenue Q), Lee Meriwether (Catwoman from the 60's "Batman" series), David Proval (Richie Aprile on "The Sopranos"…how's your chest, Richie?), Martin Kove (played the sensei of the Cobra Kai in the original Karate Kid)…are you kidding me?...

A retirement community becomes a bloodbath in "Hotel Arthritis"
An all star cast of veteran actors including Rip Taylor (The Gong Show) & Martin Cove (The Karate Kid) come together for the side splitting horror of "Hotel Arthritis" (originally titled "The Old Folks Home"), directed by actor Jason Lockhart (Vampire Boys) in his directorial debut.

Somebody is killing old people. The weapon of choice: a secret. They are being offed by a masked killer who stalks the halls of the small retirement community in which they live. The story opens with a terrifying murder, creating space on the waiting list for Rose to move in. Upon Rose’s arrival, she is taken on a tour of the grounds by the quirky, offbeat manager: Dale. The odd and brightly colored characters continue to pop up as Fanny, her Jewish gossiping neighbor, introduces Rose to “the gang.” The routine of daily life is all stirred up at the moment. People are disappearing,...
