Michael Bay's 1995 film "Bad Boys" took its title from the 1987 reggae song of the same name, performed by the Jamaican band Inner Circle. The song was used as the theme song for the overwhelmingly popular docudrama TV series "Cops" beginning in 1989, a series about uniform-wearing, on-duty police officers responding to calls. The series began on Fox and ran on that network until 2013. Paramount bought the franchise and continued to run it through 2020. After that, it was picked up by the right wing channel Fox Nation. Thanks to "Cops," Inner Circle's "Bad Boys" is now inextricably associated with the police, even though the song itself isn't expressly a pro-police polemic. "Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when then come for you?" As a police anthem, it sounds threatening.

Cue up some DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince because it’s summertime! To celebrate the first day of the sweltering season, Netflix is excited to announce that Outer Banks Season 5 production is underway! The fifth and final season of Outer Banks has begun production in Charleston, South Carolina, for a 2026 premiere on Netflix.
In a “dispatch to all Pogues” last year, Outer Banks co-creators and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke explained why the time is right to bring the series to a close.
“Seven years ago, in the summer of 2017, we came across a photo of teenagers on a beach at dusk during a power outage. That photo sparked an idea for a story of four best friends who only want to have a good time all the time,” reads the statement. “From this beginning, we imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure,...

Will Smith’s attempt at a comeback in the music world has met with criticism from all over. Fans have found his new song, Pretty Girls, and its music video pretty cringeworthy. In the song, Smith professes his love (some would say lust) for pretty girls, whether they are “vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon”, or any other flavor. Yes, it’s that bad!
One of the biggest issues with the song was its tempo, which felt off for many fans. It’s truly surprising, given that he collaborated with DJ Jazzy Jeff. Smith and Jeff paired together for the ’90s hits, including Summertime and Boom! Shake the Room. However, fans on X found a way to make it sound much better.

Will Smith is a rare breed of entertainer who has conquered both Hollywood and the music industry. Bursting onto the scene in the late 1980s as one-half of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, he quickly became known for his clean, charismatic rhymes and relatable storytelling.
Behind the scenes, however, Smith’s personal life, especially his marriage to actress Jada Pinkett Smith, has often been tumultuous and publicly scrutinized. The couple’s unconventional relationship came under intense spotlight after they openly discussed marital struggles and infidelity on Jada’s show Red Table Talk, coining the now-famous term “entanglement.”

Exclusive – Update: The picket line in front of a Will Smith music video shoot in West Hollywood is coming down.
Edged on by the Oscar winner and his team, the producers and IATSE have reached a deal, I hear.
With the 35-person crew heading back to work at Quixote West Hollywood Studios on the latest single from Smith’s Based On A True Story album, the agreement includes health and pension benefits. Those benefits were a key component of the dispute that saw Toronto and Miami-based producers Breathe Entertainment send everyone packing on Thursday and bring on a replacement crew today.

Will Smith truly surprised fans this 2025 by releasing a full length album – his first in 20 years. I bet most Gen Zs didn’t even know that Smith was a rapper once-upon-a-time. Yeah, the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ really was.
Before getting his big break in acting and going on to dominate the movie industry for over two decades, Smith was spitting his rhymes and collecting his stars.
So why didn’t his comeback drive the millions of fans he’s accumulated so far to listen? Some think they may know why, and it has something to do with a certain slap.

Before the days of viral memes and easily accessible YouTube trailers, marketing for genre films used to be a very different experience. Since it wasn’t guaranteed that ads would be targeted at the folks most likely to purchase a ticket, studios often had to shoot in every conceivable direction when trying to promote otherwise serious horror media. And with horror icons becoming rock stars in the ’80s and ’90s, it makes sense that this period would also see a series of licensed theme songs meant to promote our favorite movie monsters.
And now that contemporary releases like Bloody Disgusting’s own Terrifier 3 are bringing this musical trend back from the dead, we’ve decided to come up with a list celebrating six of the most memorable horror movie theme songs for your listening pleasure. Will Smith just released his first album in 20 years — and he has a story to tell, one that includes the infamous Chris Rock Oscars slap, addressing rumors, and more. Based on a True Story is the perfect name for Smith's newly released album, because not only does it serve as a 'this is my truth' moment, but it also gives him a chance to get back to his late '80s and early '90s roots, one that made him a four-time Grammy Award winner.
Released on Friday, March 28, Smith wasted no time getting straight to the point with the opening track, "Int. Barbershop — Day." It opens with the words, "Will Smith is canceled." It's a phrase that was heard everywhere by social media users, people in Hollywood, newscasters, etc. The song features DJ Jazzy Jeff, one of Smith's longtime collaborators and best friends, and social media influencer B. Simone.

On his new album, Based on a True Story, Will Smith is defiant about his infamous Chris Rock Oscars slap, addressing the incident on multiple songs.
The opening track on the project, “Int. Barbershop – Day,” is a skit with a chorus of voices sharing rumors and differing opinions of the actor and rapper, including “Will Smith is canceled” and “I ain’t never gonna forgive him for that shit he did.”
Later on, one voice says, “I heard he won the Oscar, but he had to give it back.” Another chimes in, “And you know they only made him do that shit because he’s Black.”
The song also references Smith’s response at the Oscars to Rock’s joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith: “Him and Jada both crazy girl, what you talking about?/ You better keep his wife’s name out of your mouth.”

Will Smith is known for making audiences laugh, but does he have what it takes to be the butt of a joke? The Bad Boys star could be in line as the latest celebrity to take part in Netflix's live roast. Smith is reportedly among various celebrities that the streaming service is considering, but nothing is set in stone. Netflix declined to comment, but the possibility of the actor being front and center for an old-fashioned roast of a lifetime is not a bad idea.
Not only will the ratings probably be high, as many will tune in to see what fellow comedians, family or even friends have to say about Smith, but it'll also be interesting to see how the actor will react. From the infamous Oscars slap to his relationship with his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, and other things, nothing would be off limits if this were to happen.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Masked Singer, the contestant known as Space Ranger was eliminated —but their unmasking was met with pure jubilation. Underneath the mask was Public Enemy’s very own Flavor Flav. Watch the reveal below.
During this Ghostbusters-themed episode, the masked contestants performed songs from the film series. Public Enemy’s founding hype man took on The BusBoys’ “Cleaning Up the Town.” After his performance, most of the judging panel—Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, and Rita Ora—correctly guessed Flavor Flav was behind the alien mask, while Ken Jeong, the lone outlier, guessed DJ Jazzy Jeff.
His reveal was met with a roar of applause with host Nick Cannon barely containing his excitement. “[This is] literally my favorite person ever… the one and only legend, Flavor Flaavvvv!” Cannon roared in the rapper’s signature inflection.
“I am my biggest fan. I love me some me. I had fun doing the show,...

There was something strange in the neighborhood tonight on The Masked Singer, but the Group B contestants ain't afraid of no ghost! On "Ghostbusters Night," panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora transformed into ghost busting detectives along with an iconic visit from an original Ghostbuster, Ernie Hudson.
During the summer of 1984 this comedy classic became the number one movie of the year and since then, its legacy has lived on and permeated pop culture with countless cartoons, films, and merchandise. Group B brought the house down with amazing performances before one iconic celebrity revealed themselves in the all-new "Ghostbusters Night" episode of The Masked Singer that aired Wednesday, March 12 (8 p.m. Et/Pt) on Fox.

It’s Wednesday night, and you know what that means. Another celebrity had to go home on The Masked Singer season 13, episode 5.
Caution: This post contains Spoilers for The Masked Singer season 13, episode 5.
It was Ghostbusters Night on the series, and that meant a few Ghostbusters and scary clues. Mckenna Grace and Ernie Hudson both made some guest appearances — one of them in person — to deliver some clues for the remaining four Group B singers.
There were a few clues that helped to cement a couple of ideas. I’m sticking with my theory that James Van Der Beek is Griffin, based on Mckenna Grace saying she co-starred with the person under the mask and that he was a great dad on the set. Grace played Van Der Beek’s daughter in CSI: Cyber.
I also fully agree with Rita and Jenny that it’s Flavor Flav under the Space Ranger mask.

The 1990s were ripe with terrific sitcoms, namely "Seinfeld," "Frasier," "Friends," "Home Improvement," and "Everyone Loves Raymond." However, tucked between these shows was "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," a snappy, energetic, incredibly entertaining family comedy that launched star Will Smith to superstardom, was nominated for and won a slew of awards, spawned a modern-day spinoff series, and crafted a beloved theme song that Quincy Jones believes cemented hip-hop into pop culture. It also packed quite the emotional punch and it wasn't afraid to hit the dramatic beats.
"Fresh Prince" ran for six solid seasons, garnering positive reviews for its cast and strong viewership ratings. Nearly everyone involved used their time on the show to achieve fame and fortune on other projects, whether television, movies, or video games. While most of the main cast never rose to the same success they enjoyed on "Fresh Prince," they remained relevant in the decades following its conclusion in 1996. So,...

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's Will Smith explains how his dislike of the original theme song saw him taking a nerve-wracking chance to make a more fitting tune. The 1990s sitcom saw a young teen from Philadelphia move to live with his wealthy relatives in the titular Los Angeles neighborhood across six seasons from 1990 to 1996. Starring Smith as a fictionalized version of himself, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air's cast featured James Avery, Janet Hubert-Whitten, Daphne Maxwell-Reid, Alphonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana M. Hollywood A-lister Will Smith emotionally paid tribute online to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Airs own Quincy Jones, following the award-winning producer and composer's death on Sunday, Nov. 3. Smith, who was not by any means a full-fledged actor when he began his run on NBCs Fresh Prince sitcom, landed his own on-screen character in no small part thanks to Jones. Smith shared his emotional tribute to Jones on social media via his Instagram account:
Quincy Jones is the true definition of a Mentor, a Father and a Friend. He pointed me toward the greatest parts of myself. He defended me. He nurtured me. He encouraged me. He inspired me. He checked me when he needed to. He let me use his wings until mine were strong enough to fly.
Today, Smith is an Oscar-winning performer. However, back in 1990 when The Fresh Prince began its TV run, Smiths only meaningful acting experience...

With less than 24 hours to go before Election Day, the Harris-Walz campaign has released a new video narrated by Viola Davis.
Titled “Mother,” the 90-second spot begins with the Oscar winner telling the story of Harris’ mother Shyamala Gopalan Harris. “Something cracks open inside you when you become a mother,” Davis says. “You realize long after you’re gone, these children will be your legacy.”
As a photo of Shyamala is shown, Davis says, “This mother came to America at 19 years old. She stood five-feet tall, but she stood tall, becoming a cancer researcher, birthing two daughters – Kamala and Maya. And with them she birthed her legacy.
“She taught them to believe in themselves and to stand up for others,” she continues. “It’s what made Kamala become a prosecutor who fought for justice, an attorney general who took on corporations to protect working people, a senator and vice president...
