Gary J. Tunnicliffe has been working in the film industry since 1989, primarily designing and creating special make up effects on over 130 feature films including entries on many of the most well known 'horror genre' franchises (Hellraiser, Halloween, Candyman, Scream, Exorcist, Blade, Feast, Prophecy, Mimic, Scary Movie, The Collector etc)
He is especially known for crafting elaborate and shocking death sequences which earned him the nickname 'The Hollywood Assassin'
At the age of 27 he wrote and directed his first feature, the science fiction horror film "Within The Rock' for producer Robert Patrick (Terminator 2, Walk The Line) since then he has directed multiple feature films including the acclaimed Hellraiser Judgment and has directed actors including Christopher Lloyd, Chevy Chase, Dakota Fanning, Chloe Grace Moretz, Lynne Redgrave, Katy Segal, Howie Mandel, Wallace Shawn and James earl Jones
He also written several produced screenplays, produced, directed 2nd unit, acted, performed stunts and puppeteered on a host of different projects.
Based in Los Angeles he still creates effects, special props and promotional pieces for film, tv and stage and has a design studio in Northridge, just minutes away from Hollywood.
