It’s been seven months since news first broke of a Grimm reboot being developed at Peacock, and we’ve been practically woging with anticipation ever since.

So when TVLine recently connected with original series star Elizabeth Tulloch, we couldn’t resist asking for an update, and the woman formerly known as Juliette (or Eve, depending on the day) was happy to oblige.

According to Peacock, a revival of the supernatural drama “Grimm” is under development. David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, the original show’s writers and showrunners, will return for this new project. Josh Berman, who has written for “Drop Dead Diva,” “CSI,” and “The Blacklist,” is writing the project.

Not much is known about the revival yet. Talks are going on right now about whether it will be a full-length movie or a new series. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner are the original executive directors of the production team. Milliner’s Hazy Mills Productions and Universal Television are running the project.

From 2011 to 2017, NBC broadcast the original “Grimm” in six seasons. The show was about Detective Nick Burkhardt from Portland, Oregon, played by David Giuntoli. Peacock is bringing Grimm back, this time as a movie. The popular supernatural drama, which aired on NBC from 2011 to 2017, is being reimagined as a feature-length film.

Josh Berman, best known for creating Drop Dead Diva, is writing and producing the project alongside the original series’ creators, David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf.

Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner from Hazy Mills Productions, along with Universal Television, are also attached as executive producers.

Details about the plot and cast remain under wraps, but the movie is expected to connect to the original series while introducing new elements. This approach could cater to long-time fans of the show while also being accessible to new audiences. Some speculate the film could serve as a springboard for a larger franchise if it proves successful.

Reboots of much loved television shows are nothing new; in fact, they seem to be in vogue at the moment, with the likes of teen shows iCarly, Zoey 101 and The Thundermans all being produced in recent years, as well as dramas like Monk and the hit sitcom, Frasier.

Meanwhile, Grimm is the latest drama to get the reboot treatment.

According to Deadline, a feature length television film is in development at Peacock. If you’re not familiar, the show was a fantasy drama which followed Portland Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who discovers he is a Grimm, the latest in a line of guardians who are sworn to keep the balance between humanity and mythological creatures.

Peacock is heading back to the well to revive another hit NBC series from the past. Next up for the streaming service is a new movie that will revisit 14-year-old TV show Grimm.

Per Deadline, it's been revealed that a reboot movie of Grimm is now in development. Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva) is attached to write the film. As of now, the premise of the film hasn't been revealed, and it's not clear how it will tie into the original series. Reportedly, the film is meant to connect to the TV show in some fashion as a way to be satisfactory for diehard fans, but it's also believed to be written in a way that's accessible for people who never saw the original Grimm. Potentially, the film could launch a new franchise, depending upon how well it is received.

Exclusive: Hazy Mill Productions, the production company behind Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, is ramping up its podcast slate.

The company, which is behind Hayes’ HypochondriActor series and upcoming show The Randy Rainbow Podcast, has new series from Eric McCormack and the cast of Grimm.

Hayes’ Will & Grace co-star McCormack has teamed up with Chicago Med’s Steven Weber for a celebrity dinner guest series. The pair, who have been friends since the TV Guide days, have spent twenty years arguing, laughing, singing, bitching and dining and will now do it on a podcast. Each episode, Eric and Steven will invite two celebrity guests over for dinner and together they will talk about their love of good food and the behind the scenes stories of their lives in entertainment.

Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm series is my favorite franchise of all time. Over the course of five films and four decades, it’s retained its moody, surreal personality without ever getting stale, even as Coscarelli had to contend with ever-shrinking budgets. Genre television is in a better place than it has been since the 1980s. Ongoing series like The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, and Stranger Things are among the most popular and successful shows currently in production. Netflix brought back the Black Mirror anthology, while Syfy’s Channel Zero continues to build its well-deserved cult fanbase with every new season. Small screen horror is big business these days.

You may be sad that Grimm‘s final season is half as long as its previous ones… but the supernatural series’ showrunners sure aren’t.

“There was a chance that we would have gotten 22 [episodes], and we were going, ‘Oh my God,'” James Kouf says, laughing. 2000’s Bring It On is a very odd duck.

It’s not that the film is particularly innovative about how it spins its narrative – there’s a pretty standard set of beats in place for a sports movie – but traditionally, sports movies don’t tend to have a predominantly female cast (and even something like A League Of Their Own was somewhat led by Tom Hanks). Not only that, it’s a movie with a predominately female cast that isn’t entirely focused on love or romance.

NBC announced today Grimm Season 6 would be its last.

This is hardly unexpected news, even if it is not the news any Grimm fans want to hear.

While it's been said that tightening up a season of a genre show can give it more focus and leaves less room for filler episodes that sometimes wander aimlessly throughout a season, Grimm has never really been a great offender in that area.

In recent seasons, their storylines have been well focused and even cases of the week seemed to tie into the overall arcs.

That's why the news came as a bit of a shock that Grimm Season 6 was not only being held for a January premiere but would only consist of 13 episodes.

But once the shock of that wore off, the reality set in. Grimm could be coming to an end.

The upcoming sixth season of NBC’s “Grimm” will be its last, the network announced Monday. The 13 episode season will premiere Friday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. Leading into the final season, Nick (David Giuntoli) faced a familiar foe in Capt. Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). As Mayer of Portland, Renard is poised to bring rise to his own brand of law and order, and Nick must take a stand to protect his city and those closest to him, especially his child with Adalind (Claire Coffee). Not even Grimm‘s magic stick can fix everything: The supernatural series will come to a close at the end of Season 6, NBC announced Monday.
