Kurt @ Comic-Con 2025
Kurt Uebersax has been working in feature film, television, commercial, and live event production for 30 years. As a director, producer, and production manager he has delivered hundreds of hours of programming across all major distribution platforms. Kurt is a 25-year member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and a 15-year member of Producers Guild of America (PGA). In 2012, Kurt was the executive producer and line producer on the independent feature film Elf-Man, distributed by Lionsgate (through acquisition of Anchor Bay/Starz). That year Elf-Man became the number one independent Christmas film of December in Redbox kiosks nationwide. For nine seasons (2001-2009) Kurt was a freelance producer/director for America's Most Wanted (FOX), producing and directing both re-enactments and on-location segments with host John Walsh. Kurt was mentored by acclaimed directors Wes Craven (Music of the Heart), Sam Raimi (The Gift) and their respective production teams as part of his apprenticeship program with the Directors Guild of America Assistant Director/Producer Training Program (NY). As one of five graduates in his class (1998-2000), Kurt worked as assigned on feature films, TV shows, pilots and commercial content in New York City, learning the studio and network system of production and distribution. Other notable credits include films Minority Report (Dreamworks), On The Basis of Sex (Focus Features), Red (Magnolia Pictures), Thank You For Smoking (FOX Searchlight), In The Loop (BBC Films), television shows Law & Order: SVU (NBC), The Wire (HBO), and The West Wing (NBC). Prior to concentrating on single-camera film, Kurt was a technician in broadcast and sports television, covering all major domestic sport leagues as well as over two years on the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) TV tour (USA Network).
