Barcelona, Spain -- A 24-hour news channel, Canal 24 Horas, run by Spanish state broadcaster Television Espanola, will be the channel's mainstay of next season's programming.
To add to the profile of the dedicated news channel, Tve has signed local celebrity Juan Pedro Valentin to be its main presenter, news director Fran Llorente said Monday.
"Tve has to position a news channel, a sports channel, a culture channel and we have to do it as soon as possible because this is a two-year project. We have to give it something extra with a strong presenter," Llorente said.
