Instead of going into this remaster with a set of nostalgia-tinged eyes, I approached Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars as a complete newbie. Although I knew the game featured frenetic gameplay centered around mechs, I knew next to nothing about the story. If you weren't exactly thrilled with the action spinoff Valkyra Revolution, (which takes place in the same world, but diverges greatly in terms of gameplay), you'll be happy to know the hybrid turn-based/shooting tactical gameplay is making a return. It's been nearly a decade since the third main entry in the franchise, but next year will see the launch of Valkyria Chronicles 4; diving players back into the wartorn alternate history with a brand new squad and story.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am. I love strategy games, and missed out on the franchise until it's HD remaster on the PS4 last year.
