Sarah Harding had hoped to be able to attend her Gala dinner before she died, Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Tweedy has revealed.

Harding died of breast cancer in September last year at the age of 39, but revealed her final wish while staying with Tweedy weeks before her death. She was apparently keen to be able to thank those who had helped her during her illness.

"I asked her over and over again how we could help. Was there anything she truly wanted or needed?” wrote Tweedy in an article for Vogue.

“Finally she said to me: ‘I would love you to create an evening, a gala of some kind for me. If I am here and can attend I will be able to thank those who have helped me through all of this, and pay that forward in a way that will help others when I’m gone.’”

An original print of Sarah Harding will be sold at auction to raise money for groundbreaking research into cancer.

The Girls Aloud star died of breast cancer in September last year at the age of 39.

Donated by The Connor Brothers and the Maddox Gallery, the artwork is an oil painted canvas of Harding accompanied by the words: “The Darkest Nights Produce the Brightest Stars.”

The Connor Brothers, aka James Golding and Mike Snelle, are a renowned art duo who’ve exhibited work alongside Banksy and Damian Hirst.

The print will be auctioned at the The Primrose Ball – named after Harding’s favourite flower – which takes place in her memory on 8 October at The Londoner Hotel.

As well as the original artwork, 10 hand finished prints will also be offered through a “reverse auction” as the final lot of the evening.

Her mother, Marie, announced her daughter’s death on Instagram, describing her “beautiful” daughter as “a bright, shining star”.

A new stage musical version of the 1993 Tom Hanks comedy Sleepless in Seattle is set for a London world premiere next spring.

Sleepless, a Musical Romance will begin previews March 21 at London’s Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, with an opening night of March 31. The production was announced on the theater’s website.

Former Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh has joined the cast of the stage musical adaptation of Elf.

The singer joins Ben Forster, Joe McGann and Jessica Martin in the adaptation of the Will Ferrell Christmas movie, the Daily Mail reports.

Following its seasonal stints in Dublin and Plymouth, the play will have a ten-week run at London's Dominion Theatre.

Previews begin on October 24 before the official opening on November 5.

Written by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone), the musical has songs penned by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin.

The original 2003 film tells the tale of Buddy, an orphan who was raised as an elf in the North Pole. Now a man, the childlike Buddy arrives in New York in search of his father, before falling in love with an employee at a Santa's grotto.

The musical version opened on Broadway back in 2010, returning for another run two years later.

Strictly Come Dancing crowned its newest winner on Saturday (December 20) as Caroline Flack and celebrity partner Pasha Kovalev were named ballroom champions.

Celebrities including Sir Terry Wogan, Nick Grimshaw and Fearne Cotton recently revealed that they will be taking part in a celebrity baking contest with the BBC to raise money for the UK charity for children and young people.

Each of the aforementioned will back one of the country's best-loved cakes, and ask the public to get behind their team by holding a bake sale with their chosen cake.

Girls Aloud star Walsh, TV and stage actress Tointon, Denise Van Outen and presenter Laura Whitmore have since joined forces to urge the nation to get baking and hold a bake sale to raise funds for the 2014 appeal.

She was also quizzed about Cole's angry text message, which she sent to Simon Cowell after she was axed from the Us series in 2011.

Cole recently revealed that she sent the following message to Cowell three years ago: "F**k you, F**k Fox, F**k the orange and purple outfit. F**k the big hair. F**k the UK X Factor. F**k you all. I hate you."

Speaking on This Morning, Walsh said: "That was fair enough really! The thing with Cheryl is she says it as it is at the time, and then she doesn't hold grudges, she's not one of those people, she likes to let things go and move on. So that will have been how she felt at the time!"

Denise van Outen has teased her plans to put on a "theatrical spectacular" with former Strictly Come Dancing contestants Kara Tointon and Kimberley Walsh.

The actress - who is currently starring in her own one woman show - said that she wants to put on a show that will appeal to viewers of the BBC dancing competition.

Speaking on This Morning, van Outen said: "I was with Kimberley and Kara yesterday - we all did Strictly and became very close friends and we miss the dancing and we all sing, and yes, we want to do some kind of theatrical spectacular that we can all put on and appeal to the audience of Strictly and who have followed our theatre careers."

She continued: "We are going to do something next year. It was supposed to be this year but got put on hold because obviously Kimberley is pregnant... so we'll do it spring next year.

Kimberley Walsh has confirmed Cheryl Cole will perform her new single on Britain's Got Talent.

As previously rumoured, the returning X Factor judge will showcase her new material on the live stages of Bgt, according to her former Girls Aloud bandmate.

Walsh told The Sun: "She will be performing on Bgt, which will be exciting because it's obviously a big show and it means you won't have to wait too long for her [new music]!"

It is thought she will perform the lead single from her new album on the final of Britain's Got Talent, which is due to take place on Saturday, June 7.

Los Angeles, April 16: Former Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh is making sure she interacts with her yet unborn baby via her singing skills.

Walsh, who is expecting her first child with parten Justin Scott, loves chatting to her bump.

"I sing all the time and Justin lies there and talks to the bump, too, which is sweet," contactmusic.com quoted Walsh as saying.

Los Angeles, March 23: Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding says she wanted to launch a solo career for a "long time".

The 32-year-old star made it big alongside Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh in Girls Aloud, and since the band split last year, Harding thinks it's the "right time" for her to forge her own legacy in the music industry.
