Robert Schwartzman, who found critical success with his recent documentary about the British Invasion band The Zombies, has begun work on another music doc, this one about Las Vegas legend Wayne Newton.

The director revealed that the “Danke Schoen” singer would be his next subject Thursday night during a Q&a session that followed a screening of Hung Up on a Dream: The Zombies Documentary (2023) at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

Newton, 83, was just a teenager when he began performing in Las Vegas with his older brother, Jerry, and the colorful live performer has logged tens of thousands of performances in the city — and he’s still going strong.

Born in Virginia and raised in Arizona, Newton was generously given “Danke Schoen” to record in the early 1960s by “Mack the Knife” singer Bobby Darin, and the song peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Currently in production, the sci-fi comedy takes us back to 1962, in a world where radiation from atomic weapons testing has awakened an unlikely new species: mid-century furniture. Harry, a grieving 10-year-old boy, must join forces with a wise old recliner and a feisty ottoman to save their furniture friends from the destructive plans of a power-hungry Army General Frank Holtzman.

Netflix's upcoming series Vladimir has built out more of its growing cast. The Netflix romantic thriller is based on the hit debut novel by Julia May Jonas which was published in 2022. Netflix’s limited series adaptation of the Julia May Jonas novel “Vladimir” is rounding out its main cast.

Nine new cast members have joined the series alongside previously announced leads Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall. Variety has learned that John Slattery, Jessica Henwick, and Ellen Robertson have been cast as series regulars in the roles of John, Cynthia, and Sid respectively.

The new recurring cast members are: Kayli Carter as Lila, Miriam Silverman as Florence, Mallori Johnson as Edwina, Matt Walsh as David, Tattiawna Jones as Alexis, and Louise Lambert as Dawn.

In addition, the Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning team of Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini are set to direct three of the show’s eight episodes, including the pilot. They will also be executive producers on the series. Berman and Pulcini are repped by CAA, Anonymous Content and Paul Brennan at 3B Law.

Ashley Greene and Seth Green are ready to dish out laughs with a romantic comedy feature offering a modern take on relationships.

The pair are set to star in director Peter Facinelli’s forthcoming film Grace Period. Hailing from Wango Films, the movie will be introduced to buyers at Cannes this month ahead of a planned production start in August.

Grace Period centers on Willa (Greene), who impulsively decides to freeze her eggs with the help of Dr. Rubin, played by Emmy-nominated actor Matt Walsh. Things get complicated when she soon meets her ideal guy, Greg (Green), and ends up navigating this journey with the help of both men.

The indie film reunites Facinelli with Greene, his former co-star in the Twilight franchise, and Green, who starred with him in the 1998 teen rom-com Can’t Hardly Wait. Facinelli helms the feature from a script by his real-life partner, Lily Anne Harrison.

As far as relationships go, Season 4 took our ghosts all over the map — literally! Pete (Richie Moriarty) continued his romance with Donna (Allegra Edwards) only to later break up with her in the finale, now that his long-time crush, Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), is interested in being with him.

While everyone was unaware of Elias’s presence until the end of the episode, Patience posed a problem for Sam and Jay’s party as she threatened to use her bloody ghost gift to break up the soiree.

The penultimate episode of GhostsSeason 4 airs tonight on CBS, and "Kyle" will feature a special guest appearance from Superstore alum Ben Feldmanas the titular newcomer, who shares Sam's (Rose McIver) ability to see ghosts.
