Petr Weigl was born on 16 March 1939 in Brno, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia [now Czech Republic]. He was a director and writer, known for Lady Macbeth von Mzensk (1992), Rusalka (1977) and Let's Make an Opera (1996). He died on 14 July 2018 in the Czech Republic.
