Invasion: The Infection Begins April 13th
Invasion: The Infection Begins takes over home cinemas April 13th with a synopsis now available. The plot line follows a small town that was wiped out after a meteor lands in the vicinity. Investigators look for answers, but soon "the government calls [this] the modern plague" (Invasion). All sorts of mishappenings take place in the film and soon The Invasion will be available for horror and sci-fi fans next month (further details below).

"A mystery surrounds a small town that was wiped out on September 9, 2009. 9909 screens in NYC; receives honors
Howard Wexler's indie thriller 9909 (see our review here) will be honored at the 2009 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival on October 22nd. The film will receive the award for "Best Sci-Fi Feature", while actress Kelly Pendygraft will take home "Best Actress in a Feature Film." The award ceremony will be held at Blvd (199 Bowery Street at Spring St.) from 7-10pm.

The following night will see a special midnight screening at Cinema Village (22 East 12th Street). Learn more about the film and view the trailer below the jump!

Sixty years ago, on September 9 of 2009 a meteor (or something of that nature) crashed to earth, animating a small rural town. Not long after the discovery of the meteor, people start… morphing into savage animalistic beings, intent on wreaking havoc on this unsuspecting community, and ultimately: the world as a whole. But what the government would eventually label a modern plague, is perhaps even worse, as this enemy is clearly otherworldly, and the design behind this trip to earth is built upon an apparent invasion. The only significant question is, who the hell lives to tell about it?

Receiving mediocrity in search of positive review seems to have become “the norm” for me lately. Therefore I was genuinely surprised, and extremely pleased with Howard Wexler for taking the time to ship me something worthy of positive feedback. 9.9.09 is one of the better independent flicks I’ve received as of late,...
