In typical awards-show fashion, the pop-punk vets performed a medley during the ceremony on Sunday (March 30th), running through portions of their hits “Landmines,” “Fat Lip,” “Still Waiting,” and “In Too Deep.” With the band having wrapped up its final farewell tour dates in January, the medley will stand as Sum 41’s last-ever performance (unless they reunite in the future).

Also at the ceremony, the band of nearly 30 years was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, with Deryck Whibley and company being welcomed to the stage by fellow pop-punkers Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte.

Sum 41 will embark on an extensive farewell tour beginning March 1st in Jakarta, Indonesia. The first of two US legs will kick off April 19th in Omaha, Nebraska, while the Canadian band’s last concert ever will be a hometown show in Toronto on January 30th, 2025. Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley was hospitalized Thursday night with pneumonia, according to an Instagram post from his wife, Ariana Cooper Whibley. She wrote that doctors had concerns beyond just the pneumonia.

“The scariest part is that there is a lot of strain on his heart and they are telling us that there is a possibility of heart failure.”

Whibley was hospitalized in 2014 after his liver and kidneys collapsed due to alcohol abuse. Doctors later told the singer one more drink could kill him. His wife referenced that difficult period in her post.

“This is obviously not our first time in a situation like this but it brings back a lot of really difficult memories seeing him back in a hospital bed connected to wires and IVs.

The stars paid tribute to Chester Bennington on Friday night. 

The late Linkin Park frontman was honored in a powerful tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, with performances by Blink-182, Alanis Morissette, Avenged Sevenfold, No Doubt and more.  "I don't have the words," Mike Shinoda, the Linkin Park co-founder said as he greeted the sold-out audience of over 17,000. "I don't think any of us do." Nearly three hours of performances followed on a stage with a microphone draped with flowers to honor Bennington, who committed suicide on July 20. Blink-182, who was set to tour with Linkin Park this year, took the stage to perform their song, "I Miss You," before joining Linkin Park's members for "What I've Done." Avenged Sevenfold, Takahiro "Taka" Moriuchi of One Ok Rock and Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley followed.

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have sparked reconciliation rumours.

The couple announced their separation in September 2015 after two years of marriage.

However, they certainly looked cosy as they arrived at Clive Davis and The Recording Academy's 2016 Pre-Grammy Gala on Sunday night (14Feb16) arm in arm. Avril also furthered the speculation by posting several pictures of herself and Chad on her Instagram page.

"Grammy Party ..... Feeling great. Lovely night," she captioned one snap.

Neither Avril nor Chad wore their wedding rings though, so it could be that they are just very friendly exes as they have also been working on music together since their split.

Australian pop-punk upstarts and Rolling Stone cover stars 5 Seconds of Summer graced the Conan stage Monday and performed an acoustic version of their Sounds Good Feels Good single, "Hey Everybody."

Despite the stripped-down instrumentals, 5 Seconds of Summer delivered the infectious cut with the requisite attitude and angst, cruising through the chorus with an impressive wave of four-part harmonies. Not even the confines of their stools could keep guitarists Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford from trying a few rock kicks as they brought the song to a close.

Deryck Whibley is a married man!  The Sum 41 rocker tied the knot with Ariana Cooper on Sunday in Los Angeles, E! News confirms.  A source tells E! News that the two exchanged vows in front of 100 of their closest family and friends at the Hotel Bel Air. It's official!   Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley said "I do" to longtime love Ariana Cooper during an intimate ceremony at the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles on Sunday.  Whibley's mom posted a shot via Instagram of the newlyweds toasting on their special day. "A toast to the bride and groom Mr & Mrs Whibley #whibleywedding," she captioned the sweet snap.  "It was a chill and intimate ceremony," a source close to the couple told People about their weekend nuptials. "They had a violin play at the ceremony and the music was mellow, not typical rock that Deryck's band plays, which was surprising." Ariana looked stunning wearing a strapless white beaded gown. It looks like Deryck Whibley is doing a helluva lot better these days. The Sum 41 frontman was spotted stepping out with his fiancée Jocelyn Aguilar in Los Angeles and appeared to be much healthier following his near-death experience just one year ago. Whibley was photographed looking very frail back in May 2014 after revealing that he had suffered organ failure and almost died due to too much drinking.
