Armie Hammer Western ‘Frontier Crucible’ To Be On Sale At EFM With Voltage
Image
Exclusive: Armie Hammer’s return to acting, Frontier Crucible, will be on sale at next week’s European Film Market with Voltage Pictures.

Oscar nominee William H. Macy, Thomas Jane, Myles Clohessy, Eli Brown, Eddie Spears, Zane Holtz, Ryan Masson and Australian newcomer Mary Stickley also star in the movie, which is currently in post-production.

Dallas Sonnier’s Bonfire Legend is behind the film which is directed by Travis Mills (The Pendragon Cycle) and adapted from the 1961 western novel Desert Stake-Out by Harry Whittington.

Pitched by producer Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk) as Reservoir Dogs meets Bone Tomahawk, and set in the Arizona Territory of the 1870s, the film follows a former soldier (Clohessy) with a tragic past who is thrown into an uneasy alliance with three outlaws, a beautiful woman (Stickley), and her wounded husband (Brown), in an attempt to survive the elements and hostiles of the western frontier.

Armie Hammer Starring In New Movie The Dark Knight About Crime Fighting Vigilante
Image
Armie Hammer will be starring in a new movie titled The Dark Knight about a crime-fighting vigilante, but has nothing to do with Batman. The award-winning actor has been the subject of controversy in recent years, having been accused of sexual misconduct in 2021, causing an LAPD investigation into the claims. In 2023, prosecutors decided not charge him with a crime. Since then, Hammer's acting career hasn't seen much activity, with his next movie scheduled to be Frontier Crucible, a Western directed by Travis Mills based on Harry Whittington's 1961 novel Desert Stake-Out.

Now, Variety has confirmed Hammer's next project, where he will be starring in The Dark Knight from director Uwe Boll. The actor will be portraying a vigilante whose fight against criminals makes him popular on social media. The film marks his second role after sexual misconduct allegations, and his first leading role in a movie since 2021's Crisis. Filming...

Armie Hammer to Make Acting Return with Indie Western ‘Frontier Crucible’
Image
Armie Hammer’s outlaw days in Hollywood are coming to an end, thanks to indie Western film “Frontier Crucible.”

Hammer will return to acting for the first time since being accused of sexual assault in 2021. After the allegations, which also suggested Hammer had cannibalistic tendencies, the “Call Me by Your Name” star was dropped from roles in Amazon’s “Shotgun Wedding,” Paramount’s “The Offer,” Starz’s “Gaslit,” and Broadway’s “The Minutes.” The accusations were investigated by the LAPD; no charges were filed.

Now, after Hammer has said he was “not welcome” in Hollywood anymore, the “Lone Ranger” actor is playing one of three outlaw criminals for “Frontier Crucible.”

The feature is produced by “Bone Tomahawk” and “Dragged Across Concrete” producer Dallas Sonnier, and is being billed as “Reservoir Dogs” meets “Bone Tomahawk.” The film is set in the Arizona Territory of the 1870s, and follows a former soldier...

Armie Hammer Books Acting Return With Western ‘Frontier Crucible’
Image
Exclusive: Armie Hammer, who hasn’t acted in more than three years following 2021 sexual assault allegations, is set to return to a film set with western Frontier Crucible.

This is the project we revealed yesterday, starring Thomas Jane (The Predator) and produced by Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete producer Dallas Sonnier. Filming is due to get underway on the independently-financed film next month in Monument Valley and Prescott, Arizona.

Hammer’s A-list Hollywood career was derailed back in 2021 when multiple women came forward with claims of abuse against him. Hammer denied the allegations but had to abandon several projects and was dropped by his talent agency and publicist. After an investigation into Hammer by the LA County District Attorney and LAPD, they declined to pursue criminal charges against him, citing insufficient evidence. He remains without representation other than his lawyer.

On Monday, The Social Network, Lone Ranger and Call Me By Your Name...

Christian Bale at an event for The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The Lawyer Dick Cheney Shot in the Face Says He’s Definitely Going to See ‘Vice’
Christian Bale at an event for The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
With Christian Bale and Amy Adams front and center, plus six Golden Globe nominations, “Vice” is expected to bring in quite the crowd when it opens in theaters Christmas Day, and one person who will definitely be buying a movie ticket is Harry Whittington. The 91-year-old former lawyer was 78 when he got shot in the face by Vice President Dick Cheney during a 2006 quail hunt in Riviera, Texas.

“I’m planning to watch it and some of my daughters have talked about going to see it after watching the trailer,” Whittington told the Daily Mail. “I told them I would go with them. We don’t know much about the film and have not been contacted by the producers. The trailer is not exactly what happened and there was no automobile involved.”

The official “Vice” trailer includes a brief scene of Bale’s Cheney sitting in a car and accidentally firing his weapon.

Adam McKay Will Write And Direct A Film About Dick Cheney
Given that his most recent film, The Big Short, was met with such impressive critical acclaim – not to mention Academy Award nominations and wins – it is unsurprising that Oscar winning filmmaker Adam McKay is keen to push on with projects that carry more weight than, say, Step Brothers. With that in mind, he has written a new feature length drama script about former U.S Vice President Dick Cheney, and will be directing it for Paramount Pictures.

Following comments from McKay about the project, it seems likely that the film will take a fairly in-depth look at the whole career of Dick Cheney – as opposed to the very limited snapshot of the man that appeared in 2008’s W.

“I’ve always found Cheney fascinating. Questions of what drove him, what his beliefs were; but once we started digging I was astounded at how much he had shaped modern America’s...
