Hallmark is bringing back one of its Crown Media trailblazers. Michelle Vicary, who helped to establish Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama with fan-friendly programming like When Calls the Heart, is returning to the network to serve as head of programming.

Vicary will oversee all production and original programming across Hallmark’s content platforms.

Vicary previously served as Crown Media’s lead programming and production executive before exiting in 2021. She had been at the company since its inception by developing popular series like When Calls the Heart and Good Witch. She also led the nine-year run of Emmy-nominated daytime show Home & Family.

She was also instrumental in bringing actors like Jonathan Bennett, Luke MacFarlane, Kimberley Sustad, Ashley Williams, Erin Cahill and Andrew Walker into Hallmark. She also played a key role in the development of Holly Robinson Peete’s Christmas in Evergreen film franchise, and the...

Michelle Vicary is returning to Hallmark, this time as head of programming. In her new role, the longtime exec will oversee all production and original programming across Hallmark’s content platforms.

Vicary was part of Hallmark’s media business since its inception. After serving multiple positions, she exited the company as executive VP of programming in 2021 after 22 years at the company.

During her tenure, she spearheaded some of the most successful series and films for the company, including “When Calls the Heart,” “Good Witch,” and “Chesapeake Shores.”

Vicary expanded the company’s commitment to diverse storytelling, hiring multiple LGBTQ+ actors and greenlighting movies like “Wedding Every Weekend” and “The Christmas House,” the latter of which earned the network its first GLAAD Media Award nomination. One of her main focuses while at the company was to hire actors of all ages and from all beliefs and backgrounds, including Holly Robinson Peete.

Erin Krakow (When Calls the Heart) and Tyler Hynes (the Groomsmen franchise) — who previously starred in the 2021 Hallmark Channel telepic It Was Always You — will reunite for the cabler’s Christmas Above the Clouds holiday movie, which is described as “a comedic, modern day reimagining of A Christmas Carol.”

The premise: When a workaholic CEO (played by Krakow) tries to skip Christmas by flying to Australia, “she’s in for the flight of her life,” the synopsis tells us. “Haunted by her past, present, and future, she’s forced to confront the choices that led to her success yet left her flying solo.

The 2025 cruise will take place from November 6 to November 10 and tickets are already sold out. The cruise, aboard the Norwegian Joy, will sail from Miami, Florida to Cozumel, Mexico. There’s still one way to get a room on the ship if you don’t already have tickets.

The news about the 18 actors joining the 2025 cruise comes just days after the premiere of Hallmark’s new docu-series Christmas at Sea, giving fans an inside look into the inaugural cruise from last year.

Hallmark has set its talent lineup for the annual holiday cruise. For the second year in a row, Hallmark is teaming up with Sixthman for the sold-out Hallmark Christmas Cruise. The 2025 sailing will begin in Miami, Florida on November 6 and sail to Cozumel, Mexico, aboard the Norwegian Joy. The cruise will return to Miami on Nov. 10.

Hallmark stars attending this year’s cruise include Benjamin Ayres, Rachel Boston, B.J. Hallmark star Brennan Elliott revealed over the weekend that his wife Camilla Row passed away at age 45.

The actor shared Camilla had been battling gastric cancer for years.

Taking to Instagram, the Crossword Mysteries star broke the news that after eight years of fighting stomach cancer, Camilla died.

“There is no easy way to say this but I know my wife @camilla_row would have wanted me to thank every person from all over the world who prayed for her overthe last 8 years she suffered immeasurably trying to survive and live with #stage4gastriccancer.It is with a soul crushing devastated heart that my beloved wife #cami passed away at 5:28 this morning,” he began his caption.

Brennan used a picture of Camilla on the beach as he opened up about losing his wife and his children losing their mother.

The actor admitted heartbroken doesn’t describe how his family feels.

Before the writers went through with the controversial ending, according to Ashley Williams, Victoria was initially conceived as the mother by the showrunners in case of any potential cancellation.

Disney Entertainment Television (Det) announced on Thursday participants for its 2024-2025 Directing Progam and 2025 Writing Progam, as part of the company’s initiative to foster the next generation of creative talent by connecting emerging writers and directors with opportunities across Det’s scripted and unscripted television slate.

“We’re building on our collaboration with the Directing Program so that more emerging directors will receive the invaluable opportunity to learn firsthand from world-class creators, while also bringing their unique perspectives to some of our most beloved unscripted shows,” said Rob Mills, executive vice president, Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment, Walt Disney Television. “We’re excited to share their work with viewers at home when their episodes debut later this year.”

The 2024-2025 scripted directing cohort includes Karla Braun, Shawn Pipkin-West, Sarah Smith, Kate Sullivan, Ashley Williams and Kelly Yu. The unscripted cohort includes Jaclyn Amor, Ana Breton, Dara Digerolamo, Tiana Gandelman and Roger Melvin.

On Monday, there were some uncharacteristic bad feelings at Hallmark HQ. According to Deadline, the usually feel-good network has eliminated the EVP of Programming position, meaning Lisa Hamilton Daly is no longer with Hallmark Media.

The highly experienced Daly joined the network late in 2021, having worked for Netflix and Lifetime.
