Stuck in the ‘80s celebrates its 20th anniversary today, becoming the longest-running podcast devoted to 80s pop culture. Created and co-hosted by award-winning Orlando-based journalist Steve Spears, the show is marking the milestone with a special two-hour retrospective.
“Episode 750 is a nostalgic look back at some favorite Stuck in the ‘80s moments – of ours and our patrons – from the last two decades,” says Spears. “It is also a heartfelt thank you to our devoted listeners. We wouldn’t be here without them.”
Stuck in the ‘80s entertains a longtime global audience of listeners across North America and in such faraway outposts as Australia and New Zealand. Co-host Brad Williams attributes the podcast’s enduring popularity to the duo’s off-air connection.
“Steve and I really are friends, and I think that comes through in our banter,” Williams said. “There’s no one else I would want to be on this podcast time machine with.

Heart’s Nancy Wilson said the usage of their song “Barracuda” during Donald Trump’s parade celebrating the US Army’s 250th birthday on Saturday was done “without permission or authorization” from the hard rock duo. The parade coincided with Trump’s 79th birthday.
“Earlier today, during a parade held in support of our nation’s military and organized by President Donald Trump, the song ‘Barracuda’ by Heart was played without permission or authorization from us,” Wilson wrote in a post to Instagram late Saturday. The post was accompanied by a photo of Wilson donning a “No Kings But Us” hat, referencing that same weekend’s nationwide anti-Trump marches.

Why Heart’s Nancy Wilson Says It’s “More Embarrassing” to Be an American Now Than During Vietnam War
Nancy Wilson, guitarist and singer for the rock band Heart, is sharing why she thinks it’s “more embarrassing” to be an American now than during the Vietnam War.
During an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel earlier this month, Wilson got candid about the current stormy political climate under the Trump administration, noting that the messages behind several of the band’s ’70s songs still ring true today.
As an example, she said the lyrics in Heart’s 1975 song “Crazy on You,” which was lead vocalist Ann Wilson’s critical response to the Vietnam War, are actually more relevant now. “We were kind of embarrassed at that time to call ourselves American because of the dirty politics of the Vietnam War,” she admitted. “To be as subtle as possible, it’s more embarrassing now.”
Wilson added that their 1977 track “Barracuda” is “even more relevant in the salacious billionaire culture with the grab-them-by-the-(expletive) mentality,...

“Save the Children,” an early ’70s concert film featuring many of that era’s biggest names in Black music, was in need of some saving itself. Although the documentary featured iconic stars like the Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and Bill Withers, the movie disappeared completely off the radar after being briefly released to theaters in 1973 by Paramount Pictures, never getting an authorized home-video release, let alone revival screenings. But salvation has come, with Netflix having picked up the doc to make it available to be seen for the first time in a half-century.
The two-hour film documents a concert that was put on in Chicago in 1972 to support Rev. Just two days after her band Heart quietly added some shows to a planned 2025 national tour, Ann Wilson announced today that she has completed chemotherapy treatment for cancer and will indeed be ready to hit the road next year.
In an audio statement posted on her Instagram page, Wilson, who performs with sister Nancy Wilson in the band known for such classics as “Barracuda,” “Crazy On You” and “Magic Man,” says, “Now I know lots of you have been wondering how I’ve been doing. So I thought it’d be best if you heard this straight from me.
See her Instagram message below.
“I’m doing absolutely fine now but it’s been, to put it mildly, a lot. Chemo is no joke. It takes a lot out of a person. And then there’s that two weeks of waiting around for test results, a form of mental torture.

Bill Karn’s Door-to-Door Maniac was originally released as Five Minutes to Live in 1961, then re-released under the new title in 1966 by American International Pictures with some added salacious content and an altered ending. Either way, what you get is a low-budget heist film that boasts a cast packed with seasoned character actors, some outlandish plot elements, and an absolutely feral performance from country music star Johnny Cash as career criminal Johnny Cabot. The zesty melodramatic script was written by actress Cay Forrester, who plays beleaguered housewife Nancy Wilson.
In true noir fashion, Door-to-Door Maniac is related in flashback. Seated in a darkened room surrounded by shadowy figures, Fred Dorella (Vic Tayback) describes how his novel idea for a bank robbery went awry. Fred’s plan involves Johnny holding Nancy hostage in her own home, forcing her husband, Ken (Donald Woods), a bank VP, to oversee Fred’s substantial cash withdrawal from the bank vault.

On June 4, “America’s Got Talent” season 19 continued with the second installment of audition episodes. In this initial stage of the competition, each judge is given two “golden buzzer” decisions to make where they can send an act straight through to the live shows.
