Lauren Cohan plays one of the most popular characters on The Walking Dead, and the best Maggie episodes show why she’s such a beloved presence. First introduced in The Walking Dead season 2, Maggie started the show as the sheltered yet capable daughter of the farmer, Hershel (Scott Wilson). She also immediately caught the eye of fellow fan-favorite, Glenn (Steven Yuen), and the pair’s journey to becoming a couple is still considered one of the best Twd romance arcs.
However, their relationship would be cut tragically short by the introduction of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). While losing her husband was traumatizing for Maggie, it also marked the start of the character arc that saw her become the fearless hero of the zombie apocalypse of The Walking Dead season 11 and spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City. By its very nature, horror is designed to disturb, provoke, and scare its audience. As such, it comes as little surprise that horror has traditionally been the genre associated with the scariest movies of all time. However, cinema has played host to a number of offerings from outside the genre that are just as terrifying as the scariest horror film, if not more so. While film fans may primarily look to the best horror movies of all time for their cinematic scares, a film's ability to terrify its audience is by no means limited to one genre.
This status quo is only compounded when the movie draws inspiration from an unbelievable true story. The fact that the horrific events being depicted by the movie in question are based in reality lends an eerie air of authenticity to proceedings, one that emphasizes the...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 1!The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon star Melissa McBride and director Greg Nicotero react to the season 2 premiere's major callback to The Walking Dead, alongside its meaning for Carol (McBride). During Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 1, Carol comes across a survivor named Ash (Manish Dayal) who offers her sanctuary, specifically saying she can stay in his barn for the night. This triggers a flashback to The Walking Dead season 2, episode 7, when her daughter, Sofia (Madison Lintz), walked out of Hershel's (Scott Wilson) barn as a zombie. The scene was recreated for the spinoff's season premiere.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, McBride and Nicotero spoke about recreating The Walking Dead season 2, episode 7 scene of Sofia coming out of the barn zombified for the Daryl Dixon season 2 premiere. The actor explained how, despite having input about her survivor's guilt, she was still...

When we think of monsters on this channel, most of the time its from a fictional, mythical, or legendary monster like the Mummy, Wolfman, Dracula, or Frankenstein’s Monster. On this specific show, however, a Monster can take on a whole new meaning. I joke that half of these episodes will be about reportedly true possessions and while that will probably hold fast, there is another type of monster we have discussed a few times. The guy that loosely inspired the Scream killings, Henry from Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, and today’s subject Aileen Wuornos. The movie made about her is literally called Monster and put director Patty Jenkins and star Charlize Theron, at least in terms of her being seen as an A list actor who can actually act, on the map. It’s a straightforward telling of a murderer that of course adds nuance and even...

Warning: This list contains spoilers for many character deaths from popular TV shows.
TV shows have character types inherently at risk of dying, like parents and mentors, to drive plot complications. The challenge for showrunners is to make impactful character deaths, even if the audience can predict them. Some TV shows, like Game of Thrones, face the dilemma of needing to keep key characters alive for long-term arcs.
There are some deaths in TV shows that no one saw coming, and others everyone saw coming from a mile away. Certain TV character types are always in danger of being killed off because of the ways their deaths inherently drive plot complications: parents, mentors, etc. In other cases, the story might set up a character's death or even necessitate one, leading to a process of elimination where the audience determines which character the story doesn't need for future seasons.

The cancellation of beloved TV shows like The Oa and Mindhunter can leave fans with unanswered questions and disappointment. Fans' support through campaigns and demonstrations can sometimes save a show from being canceled due to strong audience interest. Reboots and revivals of canceled TV shows like Hannibal and Gossip Girl are possible if actors, writers, and showrunners are willing to return.
When a TV show is canceled, it's normal for audience members and the show's creators to hold out hope that it might return. While some series reach their natural conclusion or have always planned to have a limited number of seasons, others are cut short before their time, leaving unanswered questions and unfinished character arcs. This can be immensely disappointing, especially if audiences have spent years becoming invested in the story, only to never discover how it ends. The Boys recently aired the Season 4 finale episode, and fans have a lot to say. This has been one of the slowest seasons of the show since it premiered back in 2019. But there is yet another criticism the season has faced a lot. One that you would not connect to a show like The Boys.

The writing of the season has not been on par with the previous ones. As the show is coming to an end after the next season, which will be its 5th and final, fans cannot help but wonder if the showrunners and the writers are trying to fastrack the storyline to come to an end. This is one criticism that has been faced by another very popular show – Taylor Sheridan created Yellowstone.

The Walking Dead had some surprising moments that made viewers quit the show. Controversial character deaths, including Lori and Andrea's, were polarizing for fans. Major events like the return of the Governor and Rick's exit led some viewers to stop watching.
The Walking Dead was one of the most successful TV shows ever, but some moments were too much for viewers. The Walking Dead ran for 11 seasons from 2010 to 2022. For a show that utilized time jumps, some storylines moved painstakingly slowly and had a tedious resolution. Other developments were controversial because of the impact they had on major characters.
With massive viewership in its earlier seasons, many episodes after big events suffered from notably lower numbers than usual. While some of these viewers would eventually return, even lasting to The Walking Dead series finale, others had their fill earlier, with one moment causing them to quit the show for good.

The season of the very first sign of the zodiac is here, and that’s exactly why being a leader comes so easy for Aries folks.
And that’s no joke, Aries really don’t know what else to be but a boss, CEO or innovator, because they’d rather play by their own rules. They march to the beat of their own drum and rarely ever need anyone to play backup instrumentals. Their charm, playful personality and great sense of humor make up for their impulsiveness and sometimes hot-temper, and there’s absolutely no other sign who will keep it all the way real with you like an Aries does, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear. They tell it like it is, as dishonesty goes against their entire m.o.

The Greene farm in season 2 of The Walking Dead provided a moment of safety and hope before it was destroyed by a zombie horde. Blatty would go on to adapt his novel for the 1973 feature film of the same name which, under the direction of William Friedkin, would enrich itself in the history of cinema as one of best horror movies ever made, in the process winning Blatty an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. The true crime fascination in the public has evolved into countless podcasts and docu-series, but the best true-crime movies have been telling these stories for a long time Over the years, certain real-life stories have played out in such a way that it is actually exciting for people to learn about. Not only is it educational, but viewers can get introduced to a whole new way of thinking and problem-solving. While the real-life excitement of the story can be what draws an audience in, some movies manage to capture the drama and stakes much better than others do.
Movies like Zodiac take very fact-based approaches to exploring real-life murders just as they happened. Other movies simply take inspiration from these chilling true stories and create something quite new, such as The Silence of the Lambs. Among the best true-crime movies, there are some that audiences might never have known had...

It was announced today that controversial actor Robert Blake has died at the age of 89. His niece, Noreen Austin, confirmed that he died at his Los Angeles home after a longtime battle with heart disease. Blake was best known for his roles in Richard Brooks’ adaptation of Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood, David Lynch’s Lost Highway, and for starring in the 1970s detective series Baretta.
Robert Blake got his start as a child actor, appearing as Mickey in forty installments of MGM’s Our Gang short films. He also played Little Beaver in twenty-three installments of the Red Ryder film series. He also appeared in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre as a young Mexican boy who sells a lottery ticket to Humphrey Bogart. Although many child actors can’t transition to adult roles, Blake managed to pull it off. His biggest break came with In Cold Blood,...

Actor Robert Blake, a man with a long and complex legacy, has died, a representative for his son-in-law Gregg Hurwitz confirmed to Variety. The former child actor was best known for his Emmy-winning role as the cockatoo-owning undercover cop in the popular 1970s TV series “Baretta” and, more infamously, for his trial following the 2001 murder of his wife. He was 89.
As reported by the Associated Press, Blake died from heart disease on Thursday at his home in Los Angeles.
These two aspects of Blake’s legacy were inseparable in some ways, and the personal turmoil that made the latter at least circumstantially plausible (the case against Blake hinged on motive — he may have wanted to be free of his rocky marriage) fueled his acting.
Blake was acquitted of the murder charge, as well as of one count of soliciting murder, in his criminal trial in 2005, but in a civil trial later that year,...

Extensively researched with the help of childhood chum Harper Lee, Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood was a true-life horror story written in a poet’s voice. There’s poetry in Richard Brooks’s 1967 movie adaptation as well, thanks to cinematographer Conrad Hall who contributes some of the finest black and white imagery in movie history. Robert Blake and Scott Wilson are terrifying as the killers Perry Smith and Dick Hickock.

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus recalls his last days with co-star Scott Wilson before Wilson's death in 2018. During Reedus' time starring in the show as Daryl Dixon since season 1, Wilson had a primary role as Hershel Greene from season 2 to season 4. Hershel acted as the moral compass for the group while they were living on his farm in season 2 and at the prison in seasons 3 and 4, his execution by the Governor signaling a darker turn for the show's main characters.
Speaking to another former co-star, Jon Bernthal, about Wilson on the Real Ones with Jon Bernthal podcast, Reedus opened up about the last time he saw his former The Walking Dead co-star. He discussed watching clips with Wilson of Wilson's early acting career, doing his best to cheer up his friend at the end of his life. Check out what Reedus had to say about Wilson below:

"The Walking Dead" ended its 11th and last season with a bang. While three spinoffs are coming soon, including "Dead City," it was the final farewell to the flagship series. Throughout its run, diehard fans came to care deeply about its characters and were glued to their televisions, hooked into stories about survival and keeping humanity intact. Characters such as Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) made the show what it quickly became — a ratings juggernaut. It may not have reached the creative heights of "Breaking Bad" or "Game of Thrones," but it had immense heart. When a character was put on the chopping block, it was often a devastating, soul-rattling experience.
Across 11 seasons, there were plenty of deaths that broke millions of hearts. Whether you're talking about that Season 2 barn reveal, the emergency C-section, or that baseball bat scene in Season 7, the show relentlessly forced its audience to face death and perhaps question their mortality.

After 11 seasons and 117 episodes, AMC’s zombie drama “The Walking Dead” is ready to shuffle off this mortal coil. The characters have traveled across several states, met and lost countless friends, and waged wars with walkers and humans alike. As we prepare to say goodbye in the series finale on Sunday, November 20, 2022 let’s take a look at the Top 10 best “The Walking Dead” episodes of all time.
10. “Here’s Negan” – Season 10, Episode 22
The six pandemic episodes of Season 10 vary wildly in style and in quality. But the final installment, “Here’s Negan,” provided an inspired backstory for Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s villain. Morgan’s real-life spouse Hilary Burton-Morgan steps in to play Negan’s wife Lucille, in what might just be the most emotionally raw performance from the actress to date. It’s devastating to watch the real-life pair play the emotional gut punch at the end of the episode.

“House of the Dragon” star Fabien Frankel plots to steal an expensive painting alongside Greta Bellamacina (“This England”) in a trailer for their new art heist feature “Venice at Dawn.”
Frankel plays Dixon while Bellamacina is Sally. After the duo have a drunken encounter at a bar, they come up with a plan to swipe a costly piece of art from Sally’s ex-boyfriend Stephen (“After Life” star Tom Basden). “There’s this huge house and he owns this painting which is worth millions of pounds – money, money, money,” Sally tells Dixon. “Tomorrow the house is going to be empty, the painting will be there and we could steal it.” Naturally high-jinks ensue.
YouTube turned actor Tanya Burr (“Twist”) co-stars as Stephen’s best friend while actor and director Celyn Jones (“The Almond and the Seahorse”) leads a Greek chorus of bumbling detectives as Detective Symonds.

Life is brutal in the zombie apocalypse. AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has killed off dozens of characters over the course of its 11-season run, from series regulars to beloved guest stars. Character deaths can deliver shocking gore (like when Emmy nominee Tyler James Wilson’s Noah has his face ripped apart in a revolving door) or a final heroic moment (as when Tony and Emmy nominee Tovah Feldshuh’s Deanna sacrifices herself while delivering a defiant scream). But the most memorable ends are the ones that rip at the hearts of viewers and leave them in a puddle of tears.
As “The Walking Dead” rockets toward its November 20 series finale, here are the top five most emotional deaths from the past 11 seasons.
Carl Grimes

This article contains spoilers for every season of The Walking Dead.
When a black and white comic book series titled The Walking Dead premiered among Image Comics’ monthly offerings in 2003, few would have guessed that it would spawn the multimedia franchise we know it as today. As one among many works that capitalized in a cultural resurgence in the zombie subgenre in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, The Walking Dead might have been a flash in the pan were it not for its world-building and revolving ensemble cast, which allowed for it to go mainstream with AMC’s 2010 TV adaptation.
The main series will have clocked in at 177 episodes by its Nov. 20, 2022 conclusion, making it one of the most prominent TV sagas of the modern era. Even here in the eleventh hour of the eleventh season, there are bound to be many excellent episodes on the way before all is said and done.

Walter Mirisch earned his Oscar for this Sidney Poitier hit directed by Norman Jewison. The tense mystery thriller was also a significant cultural step for Civil Rights, Hollywood-style: Poitier’s Virgil Tibbs claims the right to not turn the other cheek. Stars Rod Steiger, Lee Grant, Warren Oates and Larry Gates are in top form. Kino’s new 4K release maximizes the impact of Haskell Wexler’s steamy cinematography and Quincy Jones’ rich music, and includes bonus Blu-ray encodings of the two sequels made a few years later.

It’s been almost 12 years since the first zombie trekked across our screen in the pilot episode of “The Walking Dead.” The journey has been long and sometimes extremely slow and drawn-out, but alas, it’s finally coming to a close.
It’s no wonder the series and its spinoffs have maintained such a huge following over the years. The series was already a hit in comic form, and after its debut in 2010 “The Walking Dead” became one of the biggest ratings hits on all of television, spawning spinoffs and web series to expand the universe.
Now that we’re coming to the end of the flagship “The Walking Dead” series (which is in its final season), it’s as good a time as any to go back and experience the entire universe as it unfolds in chronological order.

I don’t always have a reason to go back to older movies for review, but having just recently revisited this movie, I had to talk about it. Why? Well, because it’s phenomenal, but also because… well… not many people actually talk about it, and that’s a shame.
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon is a 2006 film from director Scott Glosserman, and takes a different approach to the tried and tested and well trodden slasher genre. I recall seeing this flick back when it came out, and I loved it. Some 14 years later I was curious if it held up, and was over the moon that it did. It really did. There’ve been a lot of deaths on The Walking Dead, but one that hit the hardest was Glenn’s in the season 7 premiere. Not just because of the horrifically graphic and brutal way he died, but also because it was so tragic for him to be taken from wife Maggie when she was expecting their son. Glenn had been on the show since the beginning, too, so fans found it hard to say goodbye and his legacy is still felt on the series even in its tenth season. We may not have seen the last of the character, though.
According to sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us Disney Plus is rebooting Percy Jackson as a TV series and CBS is doing a Captain Pike spinoff – AMC has plans to bring Glenn back for season 11 should actor Steven Yeun agree to return. And as you’d probably imagine,...

AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama “The Walking Dead,” based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series, burst onto our television screens in 2010 and has been a ratings juggernaut ever since. Over the past decade the show has experienced both creative highs and unfortunate lows, with some seasons being must-see-tv and others being rather forgettable. Tour our photos above to see all of “The Walking Dead” seasons ranked from worst to best. Does your personal number one choice match ours?
10. Season 7
It was great to expand the world of the show by introducing The Kingdom and Oceanside. But the series felt the need to really marinate in the doom and gloom of Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham’s (Michael Cudlitz) murders at the top of the season. Season 7 is largely defined by a sense of helplessness against the threat of The Saviors and it quickly grew tiresome as each episode only presented more of the same.

The Walking Dead is a show that’s never been shy about offing its characters. From the very beginning, it was clear that anyone could bite it at any time. That turned out to be one of the biggest selling points for the program and actually helped audiences invest in it.
One of the most shocking deaths happened during the second season. Jon Bernthal’s Shane was killed in a duel of sorts with his former friend turned rival, Rick Grimes. This was so unexpected because the character of Shane was developed in such a different fashion than he was in the comics in which he originated, where he died almost immediately.
In the series, however, Shane was stretched over two seasons and morphed into an antagonist that would not only challenge Rick for control of the group of survivors, but also wanted to usurp his family (whom he did...

You have to credit anyone who can get the production of a film off the ground. It’s hard work, I know that – the amount of films we report on, or have knowledge about (thanks to eager directors getting in touch) that never get past the announcement stage is astonishing. So to actually put a film together, to organise a shoot, and to get it out there in front of an audience is commendable.
Only sometimes people need to be told when they should stop. It’s one thing to make a movie but it’s another to actually make a watchable movie. Unfortunately Rogue Cell – notwithstanding its Amazing concept – is not a watchable movie,...
