Batman: The Animated Series (1992)
How Batman: The Animated Series changed Mr. Freeze for the better
Batman: The Animated Series (1992)
Mr. Freeze is widely considered to be one of Batman's greatest, and most tragic villains. The character was originally one of the more gimmicky antagonists in DC Comics, but it all turned around for him in the 1990s when he was revamped for Batman: The Animated Series. That revamp involved giving Victor Fries a tragic origin story that instantly made him a much deeper character, and earned him (and the show) recognition that he never had before.

It's such an iconic origin that many would think the character of Mr. Freeze was a consistent cast member when it came to the show's core roster of iconic villains. But one would be wrong. Come with me into a world where vengeance is a dish best served cold, and discover how little screen time Mr. Freeze received during his tenure on Batman: The Animated Series and how he still became one of its greatest ever characters.

Batman's New Batsuit Takes Inspiration from an Iconic DC Movie Villain
Image
Batman's new Haz-Bat suit draws inspiration from Mr. Freeze's original costume, paying homage to the Gotham rogue's iconic design elements. The Haz-Bat suit features a Batman twist with Bruce's signature black and grey color scheme, along with the addition of bat ears and an arc reactor-like attachment over the heart area. Batman's history of repurposing Mr. Freeze's designs, as seen in DCeased, further confirms his familiarity with the rogue's attire and his ability to modify them for his needs.

Warning: Contains Potential Spoilers for Batman: The Brave and the Bold #13!

Batman may have a gallery full of Gotham's villains, but there's only one among them that the Dark Knight respects enough to draw inspiration fromMr. Freeze. It's clear that Batman's latest Batsuit, the Haz-Bat, incorporates fundamental design elements from Dr. Victor Fries's cryo-suits, but this isn't the first time Batman's attire has been influenced by this Gotham rogue.

All 19 Animal Man Stories By Grant Morrison, Ranked
Image
Animal Man was transformed from obscurity to a vital character by Grant Morrison in their unique and philosophical take on the comic. Morrison seamlessly blended animal rights issues with metaphysical storytelling, creating a captivating and thought-provoking series. From addressing white saviorism to breaking the fourth wall, Animal Man under Morrison's guidance became a groundbreaking and iconic comic book character.

At the time of its publication, there was no other comic in America quite like Grant Morrison’s Animal Man. Prior to Morrison, Animal Man had been just another obscure character languishing in limbo. Initially seeing Animal Man as a vehicle to explore animal rights issues, Morrison eventually took the character in a metaphysical direction, raising profound questions about the nature of reality and existence.

After making a name for themselves in the British comics' scene, Grant Morrison entered the mainstream with Animal Man in 1988. Over the course of 26 issues, and one story in Secret Origins,...

ChatGPT fails when it comes to accounting, finds major study
Image
New Delhi, April 23 (Ians) AI chatbot ChatGPT is still no match for humans when it comes to accounting and while it is a game changer in several fields, the researchers say the AI still has work to do in the realm of accounting.

Microsoft-backed OpenAI has launched its newest AI chatbot product, Gpt-4 which uses machine learning to generate natural language text, passed the bar exam with a score in the 90th percentile, passed 13 of 15 advanced placement (AP) exams and got a nearly perfect score on the Gre Verbal test.

“It’s not perfect; you’re not going to be using it for everything,” said Jessica Wood, currently a freshman at Brigham Young University (Byu) in the US. “Trying to learn solely by using ChatGPT is a fool’s errand.”

Researchers at Byu and 186 other universities wanted to know how OpenAI’s tech would fare on accounting exams. They put the original version,...

If…. Blu Ray Review
If.... Directed by: Lindsay Anderson Written by: David Sherwin Starring: Malcolm McDowell, David Wood, Richard Warwick, Robert Swann Lindsay Anderson's 1968 film If…. sets a counterculture revolution within the walls of an English public school, creating an allegorical fantasy which reflects the volatile atmosphere of the time. Featuring a pre-Clockwork Orange Malcolm McDowell, comparisons to Kubrick's masterpiece aren't totally misguided. Both films are populated with rebellious youths and flashes of ultra-violence, but Anderson's approach is a less austere look at aggression as a means of change rather than simply a way to curb boredom. The film begins with the start of the school year at an English school for boys. While the youngest kids (do they call them freshman in England?) attempt to navigate the halls of the school and acclimatize to the demands of their surroundings, Mick Travis (McDowell) returns for another year, lugging a giant suitcase and sporting...
