The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed its 276-member-strong class of 2013.

The list, published by The Hollywood Reporter, includes actors, cinematographers, designers, directors, documentarians, executives, film editors, makeup artists and hairstylists, "members-at-large," musicians, producers, PR folks, short filmmakers and animators, sound technicians, visual effects artists, and writers.

Jason Bateman, Rosario Dawson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Mortimer, Sandra Oh, Jason Schwartzman, and Michael Peña are among the roster of actors, while "The Heat" and "Bridesmaids" helmer Paul Feig made the directors' cut.

"We did not change our criteria at all," says Academy president Hawk Koch of this year's larger-than-usual class. "Yes, this year there is a tremendous amount of women, a tremendous amount of people of color, people from all walks of life. This year, we asked the branches to look at everybody who wasn't in the Academy but who deserved to be.

Of those listed below, those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2013. "These individuals are among the best filmmakers working in the industry today," said Academy President Hawk Koch in a press release. "Their talent and creativity have captured the imagination of audiences worldwide, and I am proud to welcome each of them to the Academy." Koch also told Variety, "In the past eight or nine years, each branch could only bring in X amount of members. There were people each branch would have liked to get in but couldn't. The Academy just added 276 Oscar voters.

That’s 100 more than last year, and part of an easing of a longstanding cap on the number of new members allowed to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences each year.

AMPAS usually adds between 130 and 180 new members, replacing those who have quit or passed away. The membership now stands around 6,000.

Jason Bateman, Jennifer Lopez, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emmanuelle Riva, and Chris Tucker are among the actors who have been invited to join, the organization announced today.

Hollywood's most prestigious night is coming to an end inside the Dolby Theatre, and GossipCenter has the complete list of winners from Sunday's 85th Academy Awards.

Helmed by "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, celebrities gathered inside to find out which films received the historic Oscar winner recognition.

The top prize went to "Argo" taking home Best Film, while Ang Lee scored a win in the Best Director category.

Jennifer Lawrence and Daniel Day-Lewis can add a new title to their name after taking home the win for Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively.

Meanwhile, Adele, Norah Jones, and the cast of "Les Miserables" took to the stage to wow the crowd with amazing performances.

This evening’s Oscar ceremony is now over, and with the dust settling on the biggest awards ceremony of the entire year, and the winners and losers celebrating and commiserating together, we’ve put together a full list of the winners (as well as the beaten nominees) for this year’s awards.

Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Chastain nailed the red carpet, apparently, and Sandra Bullock did wonderful things with a diamond hair-clip, while Bradley Cooper and Chris Pine both proved that beards are very much the hot thing right now. But the big events were yet to happen inside the La venue, as the audience sat ready to receive host Seth MacFarlane, and his inevitably cutting humour.

Just as viewers seemed divided over Seth MacFarlane’s hosting of this year’s Oscars, so Academy voters were split over the films themselves. Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Amour, Lincoln, and Silver Linings Playbook all scored major awards, with Jennifer Lawrence and Daniel Day-Lewis winning the top acting Oscars. On Oscar Sunday the great and good of the silver screen will assemble at the Dolby Theatre for the 85th Academy Awards. This year’s extravaganza will surely be a night to remember.

On Sunday the Ee British Academy Film Awards were held at London’s Royal Opera House and hosted by the always delightful Stephen Fry. The show was televised here in the States on BBC America. In a continuation of what Awards watchers have witnessed over the past weeks, Argo was named Best Film, Ben Affleck won the Director BAFTA and the film also took the Editing award.

Les Misérables did win four BAFTAs for Production Design, Sound, Make Up & Hair and Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway.

Amour won the award for Film Not in the English Language and Emmanuelle Riva won Leading Actress. Leading Actor was awarded to Daniel Day-Lewis for Lincoln. Christoph Waltz won Supporting Actor for his performance in Django Unchained and the film’s writer/director Quentin Tarantino won the Original Screenplay BAFTA.

Honoring the best in the biz, the 2013 Orange British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) took place in London, England earlier this evening (February 10).

During the event held inside the historic Royal Opera House, many stars walked home with big trophies including the cast and producers of "Argo" who took home the award for Best Film.

Meanwhile, Emmanuelle Riva was names Best Actress for her role in "Amour", while Daniel Dawy-Lewis took home Best Actor for his work in "Lincoln."

Other winners included "Skyfall" taking home Best British Film and Anne Hathaway taking home the award for Best Supporting Actress, while Juno Temple took home the Rising Star Award and Ben Affleck took home the prize for Best Director.

The ceremony is over here in London, bringing together some of the finest and most talented people in the film industry under the same roof for one night. The BAFTAs are this country’s highest honour in film, and they have handed out their awards for the 66th time to those whom they deem the most deserving in the past year in film.

And since Ben Affleck is one of my favourite filmmakers of all time, I have been in a brilliant mood tonight, because he’s won (and very much earned) Best Director for Argo, and taken home the Best Film prize alongside his co-producers George Clooney and Grant Heslov. If you haven’t yet seen Argo, I can’t recommend enough how much you should see it as soon as possible.

'Skyfall' has taken the first Award of the evening at the 2013 Baftas, currently taking place at London's Royal Opera House.

This caps a thrilling year for the James Bond franchise, celebrating its 50th year, with a record-breaking box office taking for 'Skyfall', which has become the most successful British film ever.

The Guardian film team predict who will win what at this year's ceremony

On Friday Xan Brooks assessed the field of this year's Bafta contenders and found it "a hazy huddle of frontrunners, all seemingly bobbing back and forth in front of the finish line".

Lincoln is first among equals with 10 nominations. Les Misérables, Life of Pi, Skyfall and Argo all crowd in behind.

The awards momentum has swung from Life of Pi to Lincoln to Argo over the past few weeks. In a competition this close there could be upsets. There should be tears. There must be winners.

The 66th annual British Academy Film Awards are here! And there was much rejoicing.

We’re here at the Royal Opera House in London to bring you all the up to the minute news on who won, who looked really annoyed when they lost, and who knows what else will be in store for us tonight?

Lord Stephen of Fry is leading proceedings once again and I’ll be updating you fine people with the winners as they are announced.

The full list of awards and nominees can be found here, and as the awards are announced I’ll update the liveblog below with the nominees and the winners.

The ceremony is due to start at around 7pm and if you’re hungry for all the red carpeting then head over here to see the arrivals from around 5pm.

It was a morning of Oscar surprises . both shocking and welcomed. Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards® were announced today (Thursday, January 10) by this year’s Oscar host (and nominee) Seth MacFarlane, and actress Emma Stone. Minus the usual podium, MacFarlane and Stone humorously unveiled the nominees at a 5:38 a.m. Pt live news conference attended by more than 400 international media representatives. Wamg and the various outlets were greeted with a golden breakfast, strong coffee and Jamba Juice.

Let.s get right to it. Steven Spielberg.s Lincoln scored the most nominations with 12, followed by Life of Pi with 11, and Les Misérables and Silver Linings Playbook at 8 apiece.

I've enjoyed watching the Academy Awards for as long as I can remember. Even though I don't always agree with their decisions, it's still a fun experience for me. This year Emma Stone and Seth MacFarlane woke up at the buttcrack of dawn to give us the nominations for the 85th Academy Awards, I however didn't wake up to watch because I was just too damn tired.

There's a lot of great movies that were nominated this year and Lincoln leads the pack with 12 nominations which isn't surprising at all. Life of Pi ended up getting 11 noms, Les Miserables got 8, Silver Linings Playbook got 8 as well, Argo ended up with 7, Zero Dark Thirty has 5, Skyfall got 5, Django Unchained got 5 and The Avengers got 1.

Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone took the stage at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills this morning to announce this year's Academy Award nominations, and they played out almost exactly as everyone expected. Steven Spielberg's Lincoln led the way with 12 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director and another Best Actor nod for Daniel Day-Lewis. Ang Lee's Life of Pi was up for 11 awards, while David O. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook and Tom Hooper's Les Miserables received 8 nominations apiece. There were a total of 9 Best Picture nominees this year, and if there were any surprises they would probably be Beasts of the Southern Wild and Amour. Django Unchained was also in the mix, although Quentin Tarantino was ignored for Best Director. On the bright side, Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams were all recognized for their performances in The Master, although the movie itself received no love.

Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone announced the 85th Academy Awards nominations this morning, and absolutely no one should be surprised that a movie directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Daniel Day-Lewis and based on the life of one of the most universally admired people on the planet garnered the most nods. Lincoln garnered 12 nominations, including Best Picture, directing, acting and supporting actors (Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones) — really they owe it all to the beard, don’t they? Life of Pi, Silver Linings Playbook and Django Unchained followed in the nod count. The awards season is finally coming to its peak. The BAFTA nominations were announced yesterday. The Golden Globes ceremony will be held this Sunday. And now the Oscar nominations have been announced, cutting down the finalists that have been contending for the coveted awards over the past few months.

Waking up at an extremely early hour to announce the nominees at 5:30 a.m. Pt this morning, the brilliant duo of Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone were on hand to give us the below nominations.

After what feels like the longest wait in Oscar history, this year’s nominations for the 85th Academy Awards have finally been unveiled! Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy and Ted, was joined by actress Emma Stone, star of Superbad and The Amazing Spider-Man, who let rip with the nominations at 5:30am at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills.

Throughout Oscar history, the nominations have always been announced by members of the Academy themselves, which makes MacFarlane’s appearance here something special. It was announced earlier last year that MacFarlane would host the 85th Academy Awards.

Nominations for the 85th annual Academy Awards will be announced today by host Seth MacFarlane and actress Emma Stone at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

“Lincoln,” director Steven Spielberg’s film about the 16th president and his battle to end slavery, topped the nominations for the 85th Academy Awards on Thursday, receiving 12 nods, including best picture.

“Life of Pi” was second with 11 nominations, including best picture, best director (Ang Lee) and best adapted screenplay.

As usual, there were a handful of surprises.

Australian effects house Fuel VFX has added a British Academy Film Awards nomination for its work on Ridley Scott.s Prometheus following its recent nod from the Visual Effects Society.

Fuel co-founder Paul Butterworth was nominated alongside non-Fuel nominees Richard Stammers, Charley Henley, and Trevor Wood. Fuel, one of the three lead visual effects vendors on the latest installment in the Aliens franchise, delivered more than 200 visual effects shots. The company, which is now part of Animal Logic after facing a near-catastrophic cash-crunch last year, created the .Orrery. (an interactive 3-dimensional map of the known universe), the holographic 'Engineer' characters, and the 'Holotable' on the Prometheus' bridge.

Its work also received two nominations in the peer-reviewed Visual Effects Society Awards. The 2013 British Academy Film Award announced this morning its nominations which were dominated by acclaimed U.S. movies.

BAFTA honors historical biopic Lincoln with 10 nominations, though Steven Spielberg wasn’t nominated for best director.

Boy-meets-tiger saga Life of Pi and epic musical Les Misérables received nine nominations each, while James Bond adventure Skyfall had eight nods and Iran hostage thriller Argo seven. Tom Hooper also was dismissed on the direction front.

Other mulitple nominations include a period film based on the famous Tolstoy novel, Anna Karenina with six and the riveting, powerhouse thriller Zero Dark Thirty and western directed by Quentin Tarantino, Django Unchained have 5 nominations each.

The British awards have helped underdog films including Slumdog Millionaire, The King’s Speech and The Artist gain momentum for Oscars gold, so many Brits hoping to see nods for Skyfall.

The British Academy of Film and Television Awards have released their full list of nominees for 2013, with ‘Lincoln’ & ‘Les Misérables’ leading the pack!

Awards season is here once again, and Les Misérables, Lincoln, Li of Pi, Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty are some of the many films that have been nominated for the 2013 BAFTA Awards. Actresses of the moment Anne Hathway and Jennifer Lawrence have both been nominated — Anne for Best Supporting Actress for Les Mis and Jennifer for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook. Lincoln leads the nominations with a whopping 10, with stars Daniel Day Lewis (he is so going to win!), Tommy Lee Jones and Sally Field all receiving recognition. Director Steven Spielberg, however, got totally snubbed!

Lincoln led the field with ten nominations. Les Misérables and Life of Pi were nominated in nine categories; Skyfall has eight, Argo has seven nominations and Anna Karenina has six. Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty saw five nominations. The Master and Amour have four nominations. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Silver Linings Playbook were nominated for three. We are now well into awards list season. We've already had the list of Razzie nominees, and the actors and filmmakers up for an Oscar nod will be revealed tomorrow. In the meantime, here's the British Academy's list of nominees, which features a strong showing from Lincoln, Les Mis and even Skyfall - a surprising inclusion, given that Bond movies are usually overlooked at these sorts of things.

Make what you will of the list that follows, but we're more than a little disappointed to see The Pirates: In An Adventure With Scientists missed out of the animation category, and we're pretty sure Ben Wheatley's Sightseers deserved some sort of mention, too.

The BAFTA awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 10th February, after which there'll be face painting and a meat raffle.

On their patch of South Tyneside, where memories of the miners' strike and the perceived dismantling of heavy industry in the Thatcher era remain vivid, prominent figures are boycotting the picture and hoping that others do likewise.
