Prior to finding his footing in The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons’ onscreen presence was limited to commercials and smaller gigs in other TV shows and movies. Not only did Chuck Lorre’s Tbbt propel him to stardom, in addition to mainstream success, the actor also secured four Emmy wins and a Golden Globe accolade for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper.
But before he considered the project, the actor confused Lorre with another notable TV personality and was largely under the impression that it was a game show.

A Wheel of Fortune contestant lived their “worst nightmare” on Tuesday night’s (March 25) episode after failing to solve a puzzle with only one letter missing. The contestant in question was Nikol Gamble, an escape room owner from Houston, Texas, who was up against Dustin Whittern, a black diamond snow skier from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Rachael Traywick, a Wheel fan since the Chuck Woolery years, from Kapaa, Hawaii. Gamble’s embarrassing mishap happened in the Mystery Round, where the category was “Song Lyrics.” The contestants were attempting to solve a huge 12-word puzzle, and between them, they managed to fill in all the letters but one. This left them with a puzzle that read, “S E E / T H E / L I N E / W H E R E / T H E / S _ Y / M E E T S / T H E / S E A / I T / C A L L S / M E.

Wheel of Fortune has been through a handful of hosts, and while fans took some time to warm up to the newest host, he's quickly winning viewers over. Wheel of Fortune first premiered in 1975. The popular game show was created by Merv Griffin, who also created the iconic game show Jeopardy!. Chuck Woolery was the first host of the game show but left in 1981. After he left the show, Pat Sajak became the new host and, together with Vanna White, the pair created an iconic duo and became the longest-running game show hosts.

After being on air for over 40 years, the iconic Wheel of Fortune show has certainly gone through its fair share of changes. Some of the more common changes include the hosts. Pat Sajak took over in 1981, replacing Chuck Woolery. Vanna White became the official co-host a year later and even took over as a temporary host in 2019. Then, in Fall 2024, Ryan Seacrest became the host. Aside from Pat and Vanna, other changes included the set design, like the physical cards Vanna had to turn, which were later upgraded to touch screens in 1997.

The filmmakers behind Freaky, Happy Death Day and Werewolves Within have ensured that no couple is safe this Valentine’s Day with new bloody slasher Heart Eyes.
Screenwriters Phillip Murphy (The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard) and Christopher Landon & Michael Kennedy (Freaky) seamlessly marry the slasher and rom-com genres together for one entertaining, gory romp centered around an emoji mask-inspired killer who stalks and hunts couples on the most romantic holiday of the year.
It may come as no surprise that Heart Eyes originated from a date gone wrong. Great chemistry in a Zoom chat didn’t translate in person, but it did leave Phillip Murphy with killer inspiration. “I was on my moped, driving home from that date just livid, furious,“ Murphy tells Bloody Disgusting. “I was like, ‘I know there’s something there.‘ I was thinking of a killer coming after us. Vanna White, the co-host of Wheel of Fortune, found herself amid a grave mistake in 2020. In 1982, Vanna made her first appearance on the popular NBC game show. The original host, Chuck Woolery, and co-host Susan Stafford, stepped down from their roles, giving Pat Sajak and Vanna an opportunity to shine. After the Kentucky native performed “Delta Dawn” on The Merv Griffin Show, Griffin offered him a chance to audition as the host of a new game show he had just developed called Shopper’s Bazaar. Woolery beat out former 77 Sunset Strip...

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
That’s Ryan Seacrest’s approach since he intends to keep Wheel of Fortune the same.
The new host of the popular weeknight game show admits that he isn’t out to try and change what Pat Sajak and Vanna White have accomplished over the past four decades.
During a recent appearance on Good Morning America, the American Idol host chatted with GMA meteorologist Ginger Zee and his new co-host, Vanna White.
Ryan expressed his excitement about working alongside the illustrious letter-turner, calling it an “out of body” experience.
“It’s out of body for me, you know, to have watched Vanna and watched this show and Pat and what they’ve built with audiences across this country,” Ryan told Ginger.

Sajak's height on Wheel of Fortune caused confusion, as a production oversight made him appear shorter than his actual 5'10" stature. Sajak's retirement announcement in June 2023 marked the end of his 41-season run on Wheel of Fortune, leaving a lasting impact on viewers. Despite Sajak's departure, Vanna White will continue as co-host for season 42, maintaining the show's iconic dynamic and legacy.
Pat Sajak hosted Wheel of Fortune for 43 years and, despite being on camera for so long, it's still hard to guess just how tall he is. Wheel of Fortune is one of the longest-running game shows ever, having premiered in 1975 and continuously running every year since. The first host was Chuck Woolery. Sajak began hosting the nighttime version starting in 1983 and also did the daytime version from 1981 to 1989. While the daytime version was canceled, the nighttime show is ongoing and is set to be hosted by Ryan Seacrest for its 42nd season.

Well, I warned you. Kind of. While today’s story is released with Stephen King’s name plastered all over it, at the time of its release The Running Man was under the name of Richard Bachman, who had some dark stories attached to him. I was planning on doing this for a while but with the news that Edgar Wright is going to tackle the story in a new version that hopefully is closer to the book, it makes too much sense to talk about this dystopian horror now. While it’s a stalwart of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s catalogue of action, especially that range from 1987 to 1991, it’s not often looked at as a premiere Stephen King adaptation. It’s not expressly seen as horror but when it gets boiled down, both book and film, it’s horrific what happens in both stories and what’s going on in the worlds of both medias.

Pat Sajak signed off of “Wheel of Fortune” on Friday evening after more than 40 years as host, telling viewers with a slight catch in his voice that he was grateful for the “incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night.”
The half-hour episode, recorded on April 5, was largely a regular telecast of the syndicated show with a few extra touches including Sajak’s four-minute farewell, or what he described as “a few parting thoughts.” But it opened with a clip of Sajak’s first appearance as host back in 1981, when the show aired on NBC’s daytime schedule before shifting to first-run syndication through King World Productions (which was acquired by CBS in 2000) in the fall of 1983. In the 1981 clip, the voice-over announcer introduces Sajak as the replacement for former host Chuck Woolery, who went on to host the dating game show “The Love Connection.”

With Pat Sajak’s final appearance as host of “Wheel of Fortune,” the makeup of a daily hour of television that structures the days of millions of Americans is shifting once more.
“Wheel of Fortune” is the low-pressure option of the two famous game shows invented by the late superproducer Merv Griffin. Unlike “Jeopardy,” it’s intended to be not aspirational but accessible, with simple word-puzzle games and a department-store glamour that comforts but doesn’t dazzle. And Sajak, along with Vanna White revealing the letters, has been at its center since relatively close to the beginning; he took over from Chuck Woolery in 1981, six years into the show’s run, and has since been honored by the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest continuous stint hosting a single game show.

Pat Sajak is nearing the end of his run as the Wheel of Fortune host. However, he has just over a week left to have some more memorable moments in the series. One of those happened this week when a contestant proudly answered the puzzle and started fist-bumping the other players in celebration.
The problem is that his answer was wrong, and Pat had to call him out on it.
Pat Sajak Stops Celebration After Wrong Answer
In the recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, the players had letters on the board and had to guess what the term was. Every letter was there except for three (one in each word). The three looked at the board and then one player buzzed in and gave his answer.
The player then didn’t wait for the confirmation and began to celebrate his answer. More so, the other contestants also celebrated with him.

Pat Sajak’s final run on Wheel of Fortune is quickly coming to a close. After more than four decades as host of the iconic game show, Sajak’s final episode will air on Friday, June 7, Deadline has confirmed.
Sajak’s farewell episode, which tapes today, will serve as Wheel‘s Season 41 finale.
Sajak announced in June 2023 that he was ready to retire as host from the syndicated game show, and Season 41 would be his last. NBC introduced Wheel of Fortune as a daytime game show on January 6, 1975, with Chuck Woolery hosting and actor Susan Stafford turning the letters. Woolery, who’d go on to host the game shows Love Connection and Scrabble, told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021 that game-show mastermind Merv Griffin approached him to host a pilot called Shopper’s Bazaar, a proto-Wheel that also featured a roulette wheel and Hangman-like puzzles. NBC passed on that “horrible” pilot, Woolery explained, but when Griffin reconfigured the format and renamed it Wheel of Fortune, the network put in on the daytime schedule.

There’s been rumours that Vanna White’s “Wheel of Fortune” role may be eliminated following host Pat Sajak’s exit. However, that might not be the case, after all.
Sajak confirmed earlier this month that the forthcoming season of the long-running and beloved gameshow will be his final one as host.
“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Sajak wrote. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.”
Sajak ended the post by joking, “If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!”
