Former NBC CEO Grant Tinker has died. He was 90. Tinker was known for insisting on quality for his network. That dedication to good TV — including “The Cosby Show,” “Cheers” and “Family Ties” — helped bring NBC out of the basement, where it was when Tinker took over in 1981. Keo Woolford, a filmmaker and actor whose credits include the CBS police drama “Hawaii 5-0,” died Monday after suffering a stroke. He was 49. Woolford’s publicist Tracy Larrua told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that Woolford suffered a stroke on Friday, and died at Pali Momi Medical Center in West O’ahu. Keo Woolford, an actor on Hawaii Five-0 who wrote, directed and produced the uplifting 2013 independent film The Haumana, has died. He was 49.

Woolford died Monday at a hospital in Oahu, Hawaii, after suffering a stroke three days earlier, his publicist Tracy Larrua said.

A native of Honolulu, Woolford appeared in a recurring role as Det. James Chang on the remake of CBS' Hawaii Five-0, and he had small roles in such films as Happy, Texas (1999), Falling for Grace (2006) and Godzilla (2014).

Looks cool but I think I got more out of Surviving the Cut than I will out of Act of Valor. The film looks good though. Some have described this as a propaganda film where I see it as a celebration of the heroism of elite soldiers. I believe both arguments are accurate.
